amazing documentary. I'm a Chelsea fan but Liverpool is one of my favourite teams in world football. I love the club for all that it embodies. a liverpool fan friend of mine sent me the link to this and I'm so happy he did
I've been a Liverpool supporter for over 50 years. I grew up in Canada and now live in Anchorage, Alaska. I will visit Liverpool and my only plan is to lay flowers at the memorial for the 97.

I am from Cyprus - all my family are REDS since the days of King Kenny - My dad made sure I became a Red when I was 6, the Owen and McManaman era. I visited Anfield in 2017 and 2018 The city , the stadium, the people are absolutely beautiful. I have been all around the UK and I have to say that Liverpool (and Newcastle) are the best cities in the UK. There isnt a day going by that I will not think of this club - absolute love and passion, even during the Jay Spearing days :) Always in my mind, Always Loyal ❤
A couple boarded the bus to Anfield and asked the driver to tell them where to alight. I chuckled when he assured them with “Oh, you’ll know for sure.” The city of Liverpool and Anfield were wonderful for any visiting LFC fan.
Isn't it crazy you live in a far away land, have never been to Liverpool but your heart beats for that club, that city. You will never walk alone! With love from Pakistan ❤
Winning the league with 96 points was just so appropriate at the time. As I write this comment the news of the 97th victim passing away weighs heavy in my heart! As a survivor of pen 3 Leppings Lane I can assure you the real death toll resulting from that harrowing day is much higher when survivors who suffered in silence for decades found they could not carry on any longer and felt the only way to find respite was in taking their own lives ! I find it hard to understand how their journey has not been recognised, their passing has been as a direct result of injuries sustained on 15.04.1989 and in my opinion their names should be added to the list at the memorial!
YNWA from Morocco 🇲🇦. They haven't won the league for 30 years because of referee mistakes. Yet they managed to be in 6 European finals, wining 3 (2001, 2005, 2019) and loosing 3 (2007, 2016, 2018). No other English team managed to be on as many finals since 1990. Manchester United made it 5 times (1999, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2017). Chelsea 4 times (2008, 2012, 2013, 2019). Arsenal 2 (2006, 2019). Manchester City ZERO times! With 9 European trophies Liverpool is the pride of England 🏴.
Wow, I'm actually glad I'm now a Liverpool fan now. Them and Celtic FC have some things in common. I'm glad to have learned more about Celtic and Liverpool! The one thing I love about both of these FCs is that the fans have each other and care for each other. You'll Never Walk Alone! ✊🏻😎
Beautiful documentary Al Jazeera. Could be better if you go back and make a longer one interviewing some of the former players like King Kenny, Kevin Keegan, Phil Thompson, Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard etc.....A club that made me proud and happy time and again. There is no club like Liverpool. There is no city like it. There is no blood like it that unites people all around the world. I am not from Liverpool, but gosh would I have wished being born there.
For me, in the current Liverpool squad the best player is without doubt Virgil Van Dijk. He's probably the best defender in the world at the moment. It's not just about what he does in terms of how he plays, it's his calmness and his presence on the pitch. You only have to look at what Liverpool were like without him during the most of the 2020/21 season.
I had the pleasure of being at the Liverpool game v Indonesia in Jakarta in 2013. It was held at the. Gelora Bung Karno National Stadium in Senayan. I was working and living there at the time and the atmosphere was amazing. With over 80,000 fans in the stadium I just marveled at the support Liverpool had. What was funny though, I noticed the Indonesian fan were also cheering just as loudly for the Indonesia Team also and quite righty so. I’m no longer living in Indonesia but try to get back to Jakarta at least once a year to meet old friends as I have fond memories of the country. God bless Indonesia 🇮🇩
Where do I start with my love for this amazing club? I have met Digger himself, the legendary John Barnes, who signed my prized Liverpool scarf. This is in my native Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪. I also remember meeting UK Scousers while standing outside Westgate Mall in Westlands, Nairobi. On that day l had donned our home kit. I do remember the smiley gentleman asking my prediction before our match with Sunderland. I proudly predicted a 3:1 victory, with a Gerrard brace. Can't remember the score but we won. I first supported our beloved Reds in 1985. At that time we only had one TV channel in Kenya, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), formerly the Voice of Kenya (VOK). We caught up with games on my dad's black and white tv, through "Big League Soccer" (Division 1 coverage) and "Road to Wembley" (FA Cup coverage). We always climb our hills in our own special way. Would love to hear your stories. Pamoja ( Swahili for together). Up the Reds. YNWA!😅
Bonds formed during adversity are always stronger than those formed during prosperity. That's why the sense of community & unity among Liverpool supporters is unique in the modern day. The disrespect & haughty attitude by the administration, especially the Tories towards the people of Liverpool, have bonded them together in an unbreakable identity of "scousers". People of Liverpool have been discriminated, derided & disrespected over the years, not for being wrong but simply for being liverpudlians. No scouse will ever support the English anthem, unless those in London accept & admit their historical wrongdoings. Defiance, resilience & unity will continue to define Liverpool football club.
