Thanks for reacting. I forgot I requested Dea Matrona (it means Divine Mother Goddess in Irish mythology). Orlaith (Orla) Forsythe on mandolin and Mollie McGinn on guitar met in school and actually competed against each until they bonded over The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac. They started out busking on the streets of Belfast, Northern Ireland covering Cream, Aerosmith, Chuck Berry, Peter Green, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more. They can rock and they actually will swap the guitar and bass between songs, share lead and of course you heard their harmonies. They just opened for Sheryl Crowe but they also supported Eagles of Death Metal, the Kris Barras Band, Van Morrison, Status Quo and Foo Fighter guitarist Chris Shifflet who brought them on stage each night to sing the Stones Dead Flowers. Next, you need to check out some of their rock, like Oh Well or Rory Gallagher’s Cradle Rock. Mollie also plays a lot of slide guitar and she plays drums and piano as well. They were a trio when Mollie convinced her younger sister play drums but the sister left to go to college and now they tour with session drummers and they added a second guitarist for touring this year. They’ve had some singles and album chart success in the UK and had a couple songs used in an Irish tv shows and even appeared in the season 2 series finale of Blue Lights.
