I actually thought Yhorm will defeat Gael, but even he lost. Nothing will stop now from an enraged overgrown lawn ornament.
Surprised to see Gael win, Yhorm generally takes that. Probably because Gael started in phase 2.
I’m not surprised. Gaels attacks only consist of mad strong combos. Especially second phase.
I think he strengthened Gael in this fight, or was waiting for him to win after watching several fights. Because even in phase 3, Gael usually takes a maximum of 2/3 of Yhormy's life before he falls.

Yhorm only wins against Gael in NG+ and beyond.
Yhorm gets like a huge HP increase every new game. The other bosses only get like 2-15% hp increase.
@@davidnewhart2533 you are correct, as ng increasses yhorm get a huge hp buff, in ng7 he has more than 50k health, thats why in other vídeos he beats gael so badly.
This really shows how strong you become by the end of ds3. Gael completely melts every boss that you struggled with, and you can defeat him.

Gwyndolin/Aldricth literally only lost cause he spent part of it aiming at nothing and then the Darkmoom Arrow Volley literally lost its focus on Gael.

@@alexberube5269 All he had to do was RNG it after warping away and he wins for free. If he doesn't use it, he has no chance. If he uses it once, he gets to look competitive. Two does the trick.

it's interesting to see that boss gael still uses the weapon art of the executioner's greatsword, which is what his sword originally was.
You mean the stomp weapon art? I don't remember him doing that at any point during this video.

Well you already get two pretty neat weapons from him and I still can't see it being very useful because even in you fight with gael it's one of his easiest attacks to dodge

Ig there aren't many, at least not that I can think of rn, but I just can't see it being very effective on its own. Maybe if you made a build that used it with other things or you summoned a phantom with it, it might be useful. Just not my sort of thing tbh. And yeah ik the crossbow is kinda awful but it has some fun glitches that just make it enjoyable to use sometimes. Like the greatbow glitch for instance.

0:55 im honestly impressed that Gael used white corona right at the start for this. Its like the AI knows exactly what to do for specific boss fights.
I think it's intended to use white corona in situations like when the player summons other players to help him in combat, so it makes sense to use it against Deacons. just like he uses the crossbow against ranged players so he used the crossbow against Cristal Sage.

The various sounds for the crossbow and the cape are really cool when you can actually hear them without all the music. My favorite sound is probably the summon sign teleport tho.
My favorite is when he goes berserk and explodes with a ton of souls sounds like he’s in some real pain.
Love the sounds for Gael especially when you can hear the grunts he makes when he attacks. Very cool sounding
Why did Gael beat Yhorm?
The answer is actually pretty simple.
On Base NG (this video) Gael has 15k HP and Yhorm has 27k HP. On NG+7 (the video you saw from BonfireVN) Gael has 22k HP (normal) or 29k (buffed by the UA-camr as seen in the video)
While yhorm has 57k. And even though Gael deals incredible amounts of damage, yhorm still deals like 1500-2000 damage per hit on NG+7 which is enough to 12-20 shot Gael

As expected that with no 30k health gap, Yhorm can't beat Gael. Only on NG+ and up can he win since he scales so hard with higher NG cycles. Also glad to see Aldrich's arrows are as stupidly op as ever.
I did that too before its like super hard tho, we had like 4 ledo rock smashes on him at the same time

I know the abyss watchers are never gonna win any pve content anyways due to their reduced damage and being a part of early game content, but why didn't phase 2 react to Gael at all?
It's a strange glitch. I think he doesn't activate because the player isn't there, he only starts fighting after he gets hit.

I never realized how much Gael and Aldrich have in common. They both see past the Age of Fire and plan for the future, they both know about the Painted World, they're connected to the abyss, and they love projectiles

I love how Gael has a different starting move or a weapon switch for different boss fights, countering the bosses strengths (range, numbers, etc).
