Thanks a lot. It definitely is...but the more I do it the more confidence I gain. Would love to rebuild a whole engine at some point to really understand the ins and outs. Have you ever done that?
Nice work as usual! I think standard practice is to glue the gasket to the engine case and then apply a thin layer of grease or oil to the gasket before installing the cover. Theory is on subsequent disassembly the gasket remains in place on the case for easy reassembly later with no need to replace the gasket. In reality probably makes little difference if the gasket is bonded to the cover or the case. Cheers Mate!
@@MotoWrenchers My best guess is many times. Light coating of oil or grease on each reassembly. That front cover may not need to be removed very often. Top of the day to you!
Great work! It's always a bit scary messing with the internals of the engine. And that tool turned out great!

@@MotoWrenchers I agree! That would be a fun exercise! I've never been that deep in an engine, but I'm pretty sure I will be at some point. 😅
great work! fun to see how these machines work
Thanks a lot. Yeah, it's super interesting. And the more I do the more I learn and it becomes less scary.
Yes! Brooke's Airhead Garage! He's done some absolutely wonderful work throughout the years and he's local to me as well! Nice vid!
Yeah, he has created amazing videos. Really helped me out during this project.
Sovereign!👌🏻
Thanks a lot! A little improvised but it worked

Thanks mate! That makes sense. Do you know how often you could potentially take it apart and reuse the gasket?
Cheers!

@markmetzger5430 cheers buddy!
hi great video thanks. I was wondering how come your R80/7 has a kick starter? My 1977 R80/7 doesnt. Can they be fitted?
Hi Paul, I actually don't have a good answer for you. I never questioned that the R80 had one :D
