    Thanks for such a detailed video. Please share:
    1: TpLink switcher model details.
    2: Fiber cable type details.

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 роки тому +1

      The TP-Link switch here is the TL-SG1016PE. amzn.to/3LTzALe
      For Blackmagic fiber products (other than the SMTPE fiber), you'll want single mode cables with LC connectors. Preferably armored for additional damage protection. Look for blue connectors to ensure you get the right cable type.

    Doug, I was at NAB for the Drone field break out. I really was hoping to run into you to thank you for your videos here. You rock.

    I am in the Tricaster/NDI eco system and the one thing that bugs me is the "It just works" stuff around NDI. You pretty much nailed it in the sense of a few sources you are probably good to go, if you are doing a single NDI-HX (10-20mbits probably) or a few full NDI sources using around 100-130mbit each you can get away using most switches as is. But there are several settings that are recommended and basically required if you are doing big shows where you need to push a lot of bits around. It works when setup carefully on the right hardware and the tag line of it just works misleads and frustrates people understandably.

    Howdy Doug from Texas…..We experience the same issue last Sunday …when live streaming to Facebook and UA-cam….when suddenly we started buffering and lost video ….We use VMIX w/Decklink Quad and 1080ti GPU…1st time in 5 years….

    I want to see a live stream where PhotoJoseph & Doug Johnson discuss Cinema/Mirrorless vs Broadcast/Camcorder Style Cameras. 🥊

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 роки тому +1

      That could be an interesting discussion. Although I think his perception of camcorders comes from consumer models of years ago rather than anything very modern

    Hi Doug, been enjoying the knowledge sharing on your channel, Thanks! What is the weight of the total unit and do they make a similar case (same depth) with wheels?

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  Місяць тому +1

      I haven't weighed it, but if I was going to guess, it's probably between 40 and 50 pounds.
      I dont' think that Gator makes a shallow depth case with wheels. Someone likely does, but I believe Gator only puts wheel kits on the full depth cases. And you do lose at least one rack space when you add wheels, so you'd likely be looking at an 8U case rather than 6U. And adding wheels and a handle does add a significant amount of weight. The GR-6U which I'm using here is about 10-11 pounds empty. To go to one with wheels I'd have to step up to the GRR-8L, which is 20 pounds.

    Thanks for this video Doug!
    Could you please share ehat Asus router are you using and why?
    Also, how is it mounted, and what's the specifics about that whole antenas thing going on there. I couldn't find easily what type of antena connections different routers use so I can't figure out how to accomplish the exact setup, and I do really want to have the router integrated into the rack like this.
    Thanks!

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 роки тому +1

      The router is an Asus RT-N12. I got it because it was inexpensive and has removable antennas. amzn.to/38VPY0g That model is really old now and I don't think I'd recommend someone get that today based on its age. Any router with removable RP-SMA antennas would work.
      The cables to extend the antennas to outside the case are here: amzn.to/38C6eDK

      @@djp_video Great info, thanks. If you have a recommendations for a recent router I'd love to know. Something reasonable in size that can be mounted in the rack and has these type of antenna connectors. On specs sheets I can't find any info regarding the type of connector the routers are using...

    Can you share your list on the inputs and outputs? Curious what outputs you routed where.

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 роки тому +1

      Inputs:
      1-4 - Studio Converter outputs 1-4
      5-8 - SDI Inputs on rear panel
      9 - Output of SDI/HDMI BiDirectional Micro Converter 3G
      10 - Output of Optical Fiber Converter
      11 - Output A of HyperDeck Studio Mini (Fill)
      12 - Output B of HyperDeck Studio Mini (Key)
      13 - Output of HyperDeck Studio Mini HD (used for recording)
      19 - MultiView 1 from Constellation HD
      20 - MultiView 2 from Constellation HD
      Outputs:
      1-4 - SDI Outputs on Rear Panel
      5 - Input on SDI/HDMI BiDirectional Micro Converter 3G
      6 - Program input on Studio Converter
      7 - Input on Optical Fiber Converter
      9 - SmartView Duo Left Monitor
      10 - SmartView Duo Right Monitor
      11 - HyperDeck Studio Mini (used for playback)
      12 - HyperDeck Studio Mini HD (used for recording), looped through to VidiU Pro
      Most of the time all of the outputs except 9 and 10 will be routed to come from ME1 Program. 9 and 10 are routed from inputs 19 and 20 respectively.

    How reliable is the Vidiu X, I watched somewhere that says it gets disconnected often. It suites my budget but concern if not reliable, will probably save for liveu solo

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  Рік тому +1

      If you have a decent Internet connection, and/or use the Sharelink service, it has been fine.
      The main reason I don't use the LiveU Solo is the cost of the subscription.
