  • The only similarity of these 2 griddles is the shape.. LOL! Yes, the price difference is huge, but just like other outdoor cooking equipment, there is a market for more expensive high end AND cheaper mass market tools. I know a lot of people will say things like "I can buy 10 of the cheaper ones compared to 1 of the expensive ones" but that is not the only thing you should look at when buying anything.. It is never just about cost. I have had Blackstone's, Camp Chef's, and Cuisinart griddles and I can say that this Evo blows them away on quality, which it should for the price. Made in the USA out of this 304 stainless steel and a super heavy duty cook top, and with a lifetime warranty, I can see why the Evo is the #1 griddle chosen for custom high end outdoor kitchens!

    I owned that same EVO for three years. I loved it and absolutely wish I had kept it, but space became an issue. Cook on the center burner and move the food to the outside burner to keep it warm. Seared filet mignons were my favorite! Get yourself a large splatter mat to protect your deck! And when it’s windy, pancakes will fly! Enjoy! I need to see if I can find another one!

    Great comparison video Darren. Clearly the material of construction is the main reason for the price difference. The burner design on the Evo makes total sense for a round griddle and that grease catch, or should I say leak on the Cuisinart is a problem. I may not have been paying attention when you said it, but the Evo is made in US if that's important to you. If you're building an outdoor kitchen and want to include a griddle, the Evo would be the way to go.
    I have a couple 22" Blackstone griddles, one at my camper and the indoor model. They are a good size for my needs, and I have no complaints.

    So is the big ring over top of the controls supposed to be the grease trap? Because visually I don't see a grease hole on either of them.

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  3 місяці тому

      there is a hole for the grease to drain on the left side of both if you are facing the controls.. the one on the Evo has a hole right in the middle of the tray so nothing can avoid going into the grease can, but the Cuisinart is set up where grease can run down the leg.. you need to watch the whole video

      @@FireWaterCookingAh. Thanks. I "watched" it, but I had it playing on my phone while doing laundry. Plus my eyes are crap because I was cursed at birth with ocular albinism so my retinas are FUBAR.

    The Cuisinart cover is also stainless steel, not aluminum as you stated.

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  3 місяці тому

      as thin as it is it may as well be aluminum. and it is very low gage stainless. it weighs about 4 pounds where the Evo is16 pounds and much thicker. But I know people who have the super cheaper Cuisinart will try and give reasons why it is a better deal, but I can tell you that after 1 year of ownership comparing it to the 4 year old Evo, they are miles and miles apart.. But there are Kia buyers and there are Porsche buyers..

      No question the EVO is a big step up, but how would you rate the round Cuisinart to any of the rectangular griddles?

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  3 місяці тому

      @@user-ir3oc8dd7t i like the shape, it was the main reason I got it, but it is clearly not made as well as a blackstone, camp chef, or Traeger

      @@FireWaterCooking I’ve never griddled, but like the round shape. However, I wonder if I’d be throwing food off the edge of either of the round griddles compared to a rectangular griddle with a short backstop. I guess you just have to get good at it.

      @@user-ir3oc8dd7t it is easy to get used to. I prefer the round shape as it takes up less space without giving up much cooking space and it is easier to clean, also great to have others cooking at the same time if you wanted.

    The crazy part.... Another hundred in parts on the Cuisinart would likely work better.

      not really.. have you priced 3/16" 304 stainless steel?

    The nasty rasp on your audio is over modulating the volume during mixdown.
    I appreciate a higher front end volume on recordings but when your volume exceeds the bandwidth of your digital medium you get that nasty crackling on volume peaks.

    Guy who owns a Cadillac borrows his neighbors Chevy to do a comparison video. One is not the other. I have a 360XL and Blackstones. The two compare quite well, but i prefer the 360XL.

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  2 місяці тому

      People asked for this comparison because I had both. I actually had a blackstone and a camp chef flat top also. I preferred the shape of the 360xl also, but the build quality is weaker. I actually bought both of these flat tops and sold the 360xl. This Evo will last a lifetime or longer..
