Great demo Pete, I have the Waza Craft SD-1w and BD-2w and after watching that demo I'll be picking up DM-2w. That country rockabilly picking at 3:41 was mighty fine.
The best you tube DM2 demo which has forced me to buy the DM2 over the DD8 - Enjoy all ur videos Pete - pure magic .,, All your videos give a fun peek into the pro guitar world ....and ur delicious skilful playing - Respect from Southampton UK
Every demo I see of Pete's is fantastic! They all make me want to try the gear which is what I assume is the intent of the demo. But, of course I realize what makes all these videos so great is Pete. His writing and playing is spot on.
It's a great "set and forget" analog delay. Probably the best for the money. Better than the Carbon Copy. I use an Earthquaker Disaster Transport and it's soooo chewey, I love it! Great tape delay tones, and you can set it to soud more like an analog delay as well
Another excellent video and thanks so much for the analog slapback tip on Ain't Talking 'bout Love!! For years I've also been trying to simulate it with strumming! :)
Great review, some awesome sounds there! Just a quick correction though: The DM-2 didn't come out until '81. ElectroHarmonix and MXR had analog delays in the mid '70s and Boss had the DM-1 (which wasn't bucket brigade but other analog components) out in '78, so they would be the granddaddy delays.
Pete great demo as always, how do you like this pedal in comparison to the TC flashback or MXR carbon copy as I'm looking for a new delay between these three. I want a pedal that works great with clean channels and heavy distortion also Thanks
I think Boss really needs to release a new version of this pedal where the ext jack allows also for a tap tempo like the DD7, that would be a killer upgrade.
Thoroughly enjoyed this demo of the DM2w. I've been debating for a while whether I should pull the trigger on this (especially after purchasing a Strymon DIG) but I think the two stacked would produce some lovely delay tones. My wife doesn't thank you for emptying my wallet (again!)...
I love analog delay. So I bought one of these. Boss has knocked it out of the park.$150 makes it pricey for Boss, but I'd put this up against any super pricey boutique delay. But it has all the trappings of those high dollar pedals. It comes in this cool vinyl coated box, it feels super hefty, you have the option of the trick wet/dry setup but most importantly is sounds friggin great. Classic BB delay, but doesn't otherwise alter tone. I use digital delay too, but if I could have only one pedal....this is it. BTW: I love your playing......so melodic. Not just noodle bullshit.
That intro reminded me of Bergerac title song (british detective-drama /w John Nettles). Nice job! I really like that pedal, if I'd use any (my fx-rig is mostly digital/emulation+MIDI). And you nailed the 'Ain't talking bout love' delaytone totally.
I can't believe how coveted some of these old pedals are. I remember that pedal and the light blue chorus seeming obsolete when their replacements came along. People wanted better high end response in newer stuff. Same went for all the rack mount multi-echo bits. As time went on you didn't lose as much high end. . . as things evolved.
Just ordered mine from Prymaxe. Couldn't pass up the 20% off. Cheaper than what people are asking for used ones on Reverb. Funny that the vintage DM2 was going for $350. on ebay before the Waza Craft came out. People like the Waza so much it drastically dropped the price of the vintage units.
Pete - man - you are an amazing musician. Wonderful music and playing. This is probably some of the sweetest music I've heard on You Tube. Where's your album ? It'll sell better than anything else. Subscribing. Sharing. Wish you all the best
What a great demo! I particularly loved the reggae stuff. The DM2-w really shines on that style. Killer playing throughout, though. Thanks for posting this.
Hmm difficult choice a year ago between Strymon and the X4 both capable in their own right, but I'm still out with the jury on this one. Its a great pedal in all that we can make it do. I'll let you figure out which pedal made it to the board eventually but ah the comment, 'wife not happy for draining the wallet again' we do what we do mate enjoy the gear, charge
Yer the reason i just got this i love it got foot controller hours of fun. Never really used analog delay they were always to short. Lots of control w/this petal.
After 4 years this is still a killer demo from a killer player. Great Channel!
And still even after 9 years.
your playing is unbelievable, the note choice is so perfectly unique
I was not expecting you to go the C# at 00:55. I just added that lick to my arsenal. Thanks!
Pete, at this point I think I'd watch you demo an office chair. Awesome as always.
+wgb01001 I think we should start a petition, for Pete to do a joke review of an office chair. See how seriously he can keep a straight face!
Where’s the office chair demo? I want to watch it too, I bet Pete is amazing in that too.
This made me laugh but I know what you mean 🤣
Pete, your playing here, is exquisite! Look forward to more of your songwriting and improvising...always a treat, as usual, Pete.
Please..please..make a video on how you develop the bass & drum tracks for your demo tunes. All of them are so clean & tight.
Another quality demo by Pete Thorn; that warmth and dirt of dm2w is simply amazing, and oh, two thumbs up for that Haircut too!
Pete, your demos are GREAT! Thoughtful, knowledgable, and no BS. Thanks
Just ordered this pedal. Great video - great playing. Thank you.
Thanks for the excellent demo, Pete. I just ordered my Boss WazaCraft Delay.
Awesome pedal, awesome tones. I have an original DM-2, and have been considering the DM-2w for the longer delay times. Thanks for the video Pete!
This pedal is a keeper. Baugh one after I saw this demo by Pete. The standard mode is amazing. Legendary. God bless
Istvan De Jesús how is it 1 year later?
Great demo Pete, I have the Waza Craft SD-1w and BD-2w and after watching that demo I'll be picking up DM-2w. That country rockabilly picking at 3:41 was mighty fine.
Thanks Mud!
I had an original DM-2 and I always put it in front. Sounded so good when the amp was a little dirty, very QotSA esque. Great demo as always, Pete.
Saw Chris Cornell just the another night and he actually ended the set with some crazy space ship level vocal oscillations! Great stuff!
Jack Archer 😕
Well damn :(
@@chrisdee5032 It still hurts :(
fuck…
@@christopherrusch :/ definitely a painful reminder
When you 'played ain't talkin' bout love' my 18 month old son who was watching this with me said 'yay!' I think he's on the right track! Haha..
Pete - such a great guitar player. Proficient in any style. Always so insightful & informative. Appreciate you sharing the knowledge.
Came for the pedal review....stayed for your playing. awesome stuff friend.
There's something magical about that Tele.Great demo!

Agree, its like my little secret pro insider channel
the riff on the long delay section is gorgeous!
Pete Thorn is an excellent resource to source out gear, and his playing is phenomenal. Cheers.
another sick demo. Also dig the new hair Pete.
Every demo I see of Pete's is fantastic! They all make me want to try the gear which is what I assume is the intent of the demo. But, of course I realize what makes all these videos so great is Pete. His writing and playing is spot on.
Was torn between an MXR CC or this, and I think this might have helped to seal the deal, such a nice sound.
It's a great "set and forget" analog delay. Probably the best for the money. Better than the Carbon Copy.
I use an Earthquaker Disaster Transport and it's soooo chewey, I love it! Great tape delay tones, and you can set it to soud more like an analog delay as well
Great presentation, I've just got one and I like it. I love that Les Paul!!!Thanks.
great playing Pete
I don’t know how may times I’ve seen this video, the intro song is amazing!
Another excellent video and thanks so much for the analog slapback tip on Ain't Talking 'bout Love!! For years I've also been trying to simulate it with strumming! :)
Thanks man! Great video! Thanks for the settings! I was just about to sell the pedal now that i understand it, I’m keeping it.
Best review of this pedal yet.
Thanks!!!
This pedal's awesome. Pete's ability only makes it sound better!
Opening demo composition was outstanding! Ready to buy the pedal...ready to buy the tune.
Love the BOSS pedals! Great work Pete!
This is a great demo and full application of the pedal for under 10 minutes of time spent.... thanks for the video!
That last part of this video was very helpful. I'm going to try that to fill in my sound

Adrian Shingler how do you like it today?
Pete, you're like the Michael Jordan of demos. You've elevated the game to a new level. (now if you could just get paid like Jordan)
immediately hit the like button after first note you played !
Great job Pete! You are the best at describing how music gear can work for me!!
Thanks John! Glad you dig what I do

Dude....You make every pedal sound GREAT!! Thanks for all the inspiration.
+GuitpkrJoe Thanks Joe
That is the quintessential analog delay sound. Great demo, Pete!
Thanks for playing it in front of the amp with distortion!!! It was just what I was looking for!
Love the demos! I always look forward to your reviews and playing.
Really great track at the beginning! Loved the feel! Very inspiring
I think Boss really needs to release a new version of this pedal where the ext jack allows also for a tap tempo like the DD7, that would be a killer upgrade.
Great DEMO by a great player
Thanks, True Tone! Best store in LA.
great review as usual Pete!
Great video and nice playing !
Great tune and solo on this one.

Excellent video. Thank you!
Insanely cool demo!
0:55 = Pete Thorn moving into demo-ing cool bass tones & lines :)

What a great demo! I particularly loved the reggae stuff. The DM2-w really shines on that style. Killer playing throughout, though. Thanks for posting this.
nice tune Pete!!! Tasteful!
Keep coming back to this video, love the tone of that Tele
Any specs on it, or do you cover it in any other video, Pete?
Killer demo.
Pete busting out some flat picking chops on the Tele?! Nice! I knew there were some country guitar licks in that bag of tricks somewhere 🤘🏼
