I plan on reviewing every ship in the game. Ill start by reviewing the 300i and upgrade to the Mustang Gamma for $0 Avenger stalker for another $5, 315p for another 5 spot. But also ill borrow ships from my rich friends like @mrdeets1 in between those. So big ship little ship, big ship, little ship and so on. Also comments can effect ships also, i really want to know what ships you guys want me to do. I have a large org with access to pretty much any ship. In the year you've had it, was it a good buy or no? Curious about how other see this ship as it was my very first ship I ever bought and I still have it 5 yrs later
I watch a lot of these videos and I believe your ship reviews are the best put together. I know it will be a while, but I can't wait to see your review of the Crusader Star Runner!
Aquila was one of my early choices. But then there's the Carrack. Even if I were to get a Connie, I'd get the Phoenix and modify it from there. The Aquila cockpit does have the best view of the Connies...but at the end of the day the 600i would be my choice over a Connie. How often is the snub going to get used? The 600is Rover is said not to compete with the 40SCU cargo. Whereas the Aquila's does....so it doesn't REALLY have 96 SCU. So at the end of the day the Cargo is the same. Given the above. I moved on from the Aquila a long time ago. And that's not to mention the Drake Corsair that's a direct competitor that just came out today!
The only things I really dislike about the Aquila are the non-inverting bottom turret, the current lack of modularity of the top turret, CIG abandoning the probe launcher concept, the slight mismanagement of internal space, and, most importantly, the disappointing quantum range which I feel should be greater given the Aquila's superior scanning capabilities. Other than that, I love the Aquila and it's probably going to be my go to exploration vessel once Star Citizen goes live. Great review of the Aquila, Sub. Side note: I didn't know how to properly pronounce Aquila when CIG first announced it either. The proper pronunciation is uh-KWIHL-uh. Additionally, the Constellation Aquila is named after a genus of eagle found in the Pacific North West of the USA and Canada.
I looked up the pronunciation and I found info that i was correct as well as akwuila. However I found out that there is an "astrological" Constellation called aquila so I figured it was named after that.
@@SubliminaLstv True. Now that I think about it, I've heard mixed information from CIG in the past concerning the origins of the name for the Constellation Aquila with some in the company citing the constellation and others citing the genus of eagle found in the Pacific North West. However, the majority of CIG employees, including Chris Roberts, that I've heard say Aquila have pronounced it uh-KWIHL-uh, so that's what I've gone with.
Yes, and I am a relatively new follower of the SC universe I've been backing since 2014 technically but recently this year have been following religiously. And the only mention I've found was Jared Huckabee saying it the way I've said it. However what ive learned is that CIG doesn't know what they want to call the ships. For instance the Gladius ATV where the were saying glAdius for the while episode and when he asked siri at the end she corrected him with glaadius. I just think there is a disconnect, could likely be because of there being 4 studios across the world where people spead different dialects. I've just had an epiphany and chosen to stick with akilla because the Taurus, andromeda, Aquila, and even Phoenix all happen to be named after "Constellations"... yeah my mind is made up now.
@@SubliminaLstv That's groovy. You bring up a good point about how much CIG is spread out around the world and how many different languages and dialects there are within the company. That would explain why naming conventions and pronunciations are seemingly all over the place. As long as you don't pronounce it "a-killa" as I've heard some pronounce it, we can still be friends. ;) In all seriousness, thanks for all the great SC content, Sub.
Yeah I've thought about this I have some ideas. But the problem is the Taurus would be left out because there is no game data for me to compare. If have to do the hornet series maybe. Thank you for the feedback I'll keep thinking up ideas.
Connie Andromeda! As of September 2019 the best solo heavy fighter - better than every light - medium and some heavy fighters like : Freelancer MIS - Cutlass Black - Vanguards series - any Hornet - Sabre etc... That's why: 1) 43752 shield value (as the Warden) 2) 32945 HP (almost 10 k more then the Warden ) 3) 4 x 5 sized fixed or 4 x 4sized gimbled (Warden has 1 x 5 sized fixed or 1 x 4 gimbled, plus 4 x 2 sized fixed) 4) 24 x 5 sized missiles + 28 x 4 sized missiles (Warden has 16 x 4 sized) 5) A Burst DPS of 2.642 and a Sustained DPS of 2.360 (with no turrets) the highest of any other light medium fighter apart from the Hurricane >>>>>>>>>>> (Warden Burst DPS 1.587 and Sustained DPS 1.421 with no turrets) It only has (compared to the Warden and MIS or Cutlass) less turn value 40 (Warden 54) - less max speed 911 (Warden 1116) - and less aerodynamics for atmospheric flight Once we will be able to multicrew effectively there will be better option. For now Andromeda is one hell of a solo fighter
I will review that one soon, you can vote on it right now in the community tab on my channel. However I'll tell you right now. BUY THE TAURUS! It comes with an andromeda loaner. So for $150 you get an andromeda for the next 6 months or so until the Taurus is out. Then when the Taurus comes out if you dont like it upgrade to the andromeda!
Wow, this means alot. You should see my previous videos my cardioid mic was rotated 90deg under the mic sock and I couldn't figure it why it was so inconsistent.
Good review, I liked the depth, approach, and especially the pro's and cons list (despite missing quite a few of the current cons plaguing the line-up presently). Prospective buyers really do need to beware the Constellation series at the moment, especially before dropping a notable amount of money on them. Definitely a fly-it-before-you-buy-it ship. Long term however, once the game is flushed out more, I think your review style will be extremely helpful in aiding buyers. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for kind words. I'm pretty good at making videos not really good at SC I've been backing since 14' but been playing for only 2 months or so religiously. I also, unfortunately can't afford to own and fly these ships for an extended period before review so I think my pros vs cons have been lacking. This is why i state the next ship in review pipeline and ask for opinions i may not think of.
I noticed in your linked comparison chart, that the Phoenix has a massively longer quantum range. Is that a typo? If not, which quantum drive does the Phoenix come with, if not the Bolon?
No that's not a typo. At the time it had that range now it has more lol. The Bolon is insane. This video was made before the changes to quantum. It has a 459Mkm range so that's about 8 trips to Microtech. I would change it to a QT drive with less range due to the current state of the game. It would cut down on travel time.
@@SubliminaLstv You may have a point. I went the other direction and installed the Huracan, which has a the 2nd longest range at 491Mkm, according to #DPSCalculator. I had accidentally overlooked the Spark Fire (550Mkm), but I see the Huracan is a Grade 2, whereas the Spark Fire is a Grade 3, so I wonder how these 2 will compare in longevity once they get this all sorted out. What I'm getting at, is that I outfitted my Aquila with the future in mind, dreaming of long-range excursions in a more completed universe that presently does not even exist. The way things are presently, even the XL1's distance of 125Mkm could be enough, provided one remembers to refuel at each stop, and it would be a MUCH faster trip across the system.
That's my opinion too if it can make it from PO to Microtech just get the fastest one no need for these large QT tank ships to have such a long range when we only have 1 system.
Nice thing about the Aquila. Is you can (could) get one for super cheap buy buying a Corsair. $195 gets you and Aquila ($310) and a buccaneer ($110). At least until the Corsair comes out. And by then I can save up for the CCU from Corsair to Aquila.
Both this and the 600i has two medium shield generators, but the 600i has more than 7 (SEVEN!) times more shield hitpoints. How come? Is the current ship not up to date or is it just a matter of upgrading to better class shield components?
So the merlin snub fighter comes with the ship but you can't use it? And do we permanently get the snub fighter and rover or is it only for while star citizen is in development?
You have them permanently and docking and un-docking the Merlin cannot be done yet. You can sit in it however. Did not know that until after the video.
Yeah... That range... It really makes me wonder how exploration is going to work. It makes me wonder even more what the actual purpose of the really small 'exploration' ships, like the 315p is. Unless it's relatively easy to refuel in the middle of nowhere using random objects found in space, you can hardly call these things explorers. Something like the 315p would struggle to cross even a single planetary system given it's QT range...
Yeah, exploration is a big puzzle at the moment in SC. Once the universe is big enough to explore (think Elite Dangerous and No Mans Sky), how to refuel is my big question. Maybe they will have to do something like ED, and that is getting fuel from a certain class of stars or some type of rock/substance off an asteroid field, though that would require some sort of mining gear and processing gear. Only time will tell.
I have the andromeda, I tried putting the Ursa in the cargo bay and as soon as I got it parked perfectly on the ramp and raised the ramp, the ship and the rover spazzed the fuck out flipping the whole ship upside down and tossing the rover. If they're truly meant to go together then I would hope they work that out
ROFL, Ok so there is a workaround for this bug. The driver of the rover needs to stay in the driver seat and power off the rover. He cannot leave the seat! You've gotta play against the bugs man. Its us vs the ladders.
Ok I have a question. If purchase the aquilla then melt it I'll get 310 in store credits right. I can then melt the ursa and snub fighter for 70 tokens for a +70 token gain. Am I wrong on this?
So, the Ursa and Snub are like loaners. You only have access to them while you own the "parent ship" They do not show in your hangar on the RSI website, only in-game.
Right now there is a free fly event going on so use the refferal code in my description to setup a free account. After this event you can decide if you want to invest in the cheapest $45 game package or play something else.
@@SubliminaLstv yes i know but it is important to tell all of the ships, more important the bugs. For example the banu defender review was perfect but u forgot the ramp bug. Anyway sorry for my english and rly thx for your job, this videos are rly useful.
Thank you for the vid. And so many others.. I've been watching for 2 days now ship shopping.. lol Im new to the verse very excited. Did I hear you correctly, this ship comes with the snub fighter and a rover?
This video came out one year ago and he says it’s version 3.4.... how is that possible when the current version is 3.12 as of December 17th 2020, and you can’t even fly this variant in game.... website doesn’t say it’s flight ready. Only andromeda is....
They moved very quickly in the development of the game. Some ships they put in and some of them they take out (why, I don't know) been that way for a while now.
Don't look at the website they are terrible at updating it. youTube says a year but it's been more but not enough for it to say 2 years. This ship is flyable and purchasable in game today. It's available at Lorville for 5mil aUEC.
Very good job but what has become apparent recently is how CIG will need to continue funding this game which will cost massive amounts with a hundred solar systems running in real time. Then we have 500 employees to keep paying for frequent updates. Concept ship sales are going to stop as already stated, probably at game release. So once we have been committed with a bucket full of ships, the pain of yearly membership fees are coming next.
Agreed, but remember once the game is released that will generate revenue. Also when squadron 42 releases that's more revenue. Also, it's ok if CIG goes into the red. They can operate that way for a while the company is still worth more than how much we have given them so far.
If one server can hold 50 users, can you imagine how many servers it will take to support all the players. Even if it's virtual and you have 50 Virtual Servers per Node, just in electricity, maintenance, operation cost etc... HO yes, subscription, even if CIG told us it will not come, I'm pretty sure it will end up subscription base.
I owned this ship for a long time but honestly it's extremely disappointing. You can't take an actual snub with you anywhere, the rover BARELY fits and bounces around usually blowing up the ship or falling out of the cargo. The teleporting lifts to enter the vehicle and stow cargo are beyond not properly functional in the game. The ship flies far worse than other ships much bigger than it. It's an easy target to hit and the nacelles are blown off faster than you can blink an eye. It doesn't have the thrust or top speed those large engines should provide it and overall it's a sloshy boat that's dangerous to be in. Sold mine for a Mole. I'll check in on the Connie's in a couple years and see if they actually function properly.
Hi! The connies are actually better now. Snubs are functional, last time I tried the rover stayed put in the hangar, the shield holes are fixed with SDF. Gonna grab the aquila for testing purposes
I love the video! But...is it "A-key-la" or "A-quil-la"? For some reason, I always thought it was the latter. Going to have to look up the proper pronunciation of the real life...hm...
It's the latter, A-key-la is what spanish speakers would say naturally, maybe the narrator speaks spanish. but i don't think no one would mind how it's pronounced
So, the Aquila has 4 size 5 Gimbals 2 of those gimbal's cant be replaced with size 5 fixed. So in my pros vs cons when I said 2 size 5 weapons I was referring to the maximum amount of size 5 fixed weapons that could be attached. I'm not sure what the reason for this is. I should have elaborated more on this confusing aspect thank you for your comment!
Its a great review but I find it hilarious that you say the price so..... confidently as if such a ridiculous price is justified. The game looks great but the fact that you either A. Need to be rich and have more money than brains or B. wait till like 2030 till everything is avalible for purchase with in game money IF that will ever happen. Well. I know I can't play it anytime soon lol. Do you have a updated video of a buyers guide for ALL ships that can be bought for in game credits.... I know theres at least 2 lol
Your probably right, I googled it and the first result pronounced it as I did from www.pronouncenames.com/search?name=aquila however all of the other results after that where with the Q sound. I live in Texas and there are a lot of Spanish people here so I've learned that ll = Y and Q = K. Unfortunately once I start saying a word its almost impossible for me to stop saying it that way I'll try. Thank you!

nice vid the ownly thing of the cony i dond like is beside the need to do rework is the mail voice a ship is a she alweas former sailor believe :)
What load out would you use sub ?
Check the discord for my newest andromeda build.
Awesome review! Subbed. upped.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
can you make a vidéo about the taurus variant pls and good job for this vidéo
I love the Connie, but damn they need some love
Agreed!
Is there a way to play star citizen without spending money?
Right now there is a free fly event going on so use the refferal code in my description to setup a free account. After this event you can decide if you want to invest in the cheapest $45 game package or play something else.
325a next?
I promise I'll get to it, I will do the 300i next and work my way up in price until I get to the 325a. 😜
@@SubliminaLstv Just maybe is poor timing with rework around the corner... love my 325a though and want to see more of it.
Nice video but the next time, maybe is better if u tell us that this ship have tons of bugs. I buy in game the Aquila and the hud disapear every time.
All ships are getting a new hud a a couple of weeks.
@@SubliminaLstv yes i know but it is important to tell all of the ships, more important the bugs. For example the banu defender review was perfect but u forgot the ramp bug. Anyway sorry for my english and rly thx for your job, this videos are rly useful.
Oh i thought this was a comment for the andromed! The bug you are referring to didn't exist when I made this vid.
Awesome Videos keep it up
does the aquila have a medical bed?
Thank you for the vid. And so many others.. I've been watching for 2 days now ship shopping.. lol
Im new to the verse very excited.
Did I hear you correctly, this ship comes with the snub fighter and a rover?
Hey good information, you do a video on ranking of the shields. Ex- C/military class or C/Industrial class which is strongest or better value
I would love to see you do one on the Freelancer DUR
pretty sure he did
great video man, thanks
why Aquila is way expensive than Andromeda??
Should defiantly do the the Drake Herald, very interesting and immersive ship and rather cheap for a Star Citizen ship.
Nice video ...orgin 600i / warden
Definitely looking forward to tackling the 600i!
I agree: Warden
1 year later is this still not a option to buy in game or is there something other than spending 300$ for a pixel vehicle....?
Almost every ship can now be purchased in game. For the last year or so now.
@@SubliminaLstv i mean this one in particular i've seen some of the other vids showing ones that can be purchased in game. but this one specifically
@@SubliminaLstv or is it certain ships are priced like that for people who want to support the backer thing or whatever?
Good video. Thank you for not insetting a video of your talking head, as I find that so irritating of narrators.
Ok, noted, no talking head.
Great review.
Thank you!
Do the base super Hornet.
just found this channel ! great content , its a subsribe for me
This video came out one year ago and he says it’s version 3.4.... how is that possible when the current version is 3.12 as of December 17th 2020, and you can’t even fly this variant in game.... website doesn’t say it’s flight ready.
Good guide :)
4:13 "These Badgers have 52 energy *jammage*"
Great work.
Thank you!
@00:40 don't you mean multi-galactic lol...
Do the Gladiator next.
I want a fully functionality one👍😎🖖!!
Someday!
The music in the vid is way too loud. I could barely hear what you were saying during some parts. Other than that, great video
Love the video but that bg music is distracting.
That intro reminds me of something... cant put my finger on it......
Yeah, I got a feeling of deja vu when I said it.
I would be willing to accept a premium sub. Meaning free to play but if you sub you get "this" non pay to win service.
AQUILA is pronounce Ah-kwuil-la
quil rimes with will
I love the video!
It has 4 gimbaled size 4 weapons, one sitting on each of the four nacelles' size 5 hard point.. Your video suggested only 2.
I should have elaborated more on this confusing aspect thank you for your comment!
decent shields? They are one of the worst of this size of the ship.
You even ranked them #18. 2:45
never heard him say it was decent
Its a great review but I find it hilarious that you say the price so..... confidently as if such a ridiculous price is justified. The game looks great but the fact that you either A. Need to be rich and have more money than brains or B. wait till like 2030 till everything is avalible for purchase with in game money IF that will ever happen. Well. I know I can't play it anytime soon lol. Do you have a updated video of a buyers guide for ALL ships that can be bought for in game credits.... I know theres at least 2 lol
least half the ships can be bought in game, persistence comes out this month
i like your voice,your videos,your show i subscribe it
I appreciate it!
www.dictionary.com/browse/aquila
Latin for "eagle". Does not rhyme with tequila.
how much I love your voice...
the andromeda is better, have the same weapons/shield/power/cooler and 2 turrent and more missiles
Drake Corsair
I am considering doing a concept ship guide but doesn't really work as those stats are not yet available for those ships.
@@SubliminaLstv True I get that. Just eager.
STAR-6VY2-ZWV5
Fyi: [ ak-wuh-luh; Italian ah-kwee-lah ]* or Ak-wil-la. Not Ak-E-la, phonetically speaking.
Good video but its A-Quill-La
Your probably right, I googled it and the first result pronounced it as I did from www.pronouncenames.com/search?name=aquila however all of the other results after that where with the Q sound. I live in Texas and there are a lot of Spanish people here so I've learned that ll = Y and Q = K. Unfortunately once I start saying a word its almost impossible for me to stop saying it that way I'll try. Thank you!
Any connie is trash right now with all the sheild holes and no active armor in the game.. maybe one day
One day!
Yea it's a shame atleast the andromeda is a nice looking ship.. also it's so dark in the ship and cockpit area when lights are off
I mean power off
why would you even invest over 300$ in this game?
I mean, seriously...for this money you can get atleast 4 AAA titles...
With some friends its a nice group ship
Fuck this, every "is it worth to buy" video ends with a "that's up to you"
False!
$310 for something in a video game...
I said the same thing... then I started playing... And now all logic has gone out of the window.
terrible ship i honestly wouldnt want one for free
LOL
@@0Boogiee0 sorry its just so ugly with shield holes everywhere i know loads of folks love it
