The big Asda you passed in Liscard was the Corporation bus yard in days gone by. In common with many kids from Moreton who went to Oldershaw, I spent seven years in a scrum for the school services as they came out of the yard. I lived in New Brighton, close to where you ended your walk, until then end of the 1950s, when my parents moved to Moreton. Thanks for the nostalgia trip - I left Wallasey to go to university in 1974 and then emigrated to the USA in 1997.
That was interesting. I didn't recognize a thing. Only the red bricks and the old bricks of the old walls. But it was wonderful. I felt like I was right there viewing on the large screen.
When you walked up Mount Pleasant Road just past the school and walked past white houses and the area of trees and grass, the houses on the other side of road are enclosed by an old wall. In the early 20th century my Granddad's uncle had a dairy farm there called Oarside Farm, it was the first business in the area that provided bottled milk. When I was a child my Grandparents lived further along in Clywd Street which you filmed. Along at the swing park area, to the right and ahead was a large building at the crossroads, my mum called this Strouds corner, the large building used to be a shop called Strouds 🙂
Well I’ve no idea whatsoever how I got here but glad I did. I lived in Wallasey until 1992. The most spooky part was (you might not have spotted it) I worked at Asda that you passed and I walked that route (at a part, a different road). You ended up on Victoria Road and by sheer coincidence, the last part of your walk 37:00 the camera was on what used to be my flat and also the very handy off licence right next door. You will see a spire and a lamppost. Directly behind the lamppost is some wooden fence panels along the top of a wall. That was the slope I walked up to, to my flat behind those panels. Some great memories and seriously there was a reason your clip dropped in my UA-cam today. What were the chances! 😉😉😉👊🏼

I’m surprised anyone has made a video of these places.
I live in Wallasey.
It’s a nice little area that nobody really knows about!
Lovely video!
Thanks mate but New Brighton is a suburb of Wallasey. Your walking from Liscard which is another suburb.

Nice…..Sun is out…enjoyed watching 👍🏻
The big white corner building at the very start used to be a cinema, where The Beatles played in 1962
It was great to join you as I used to live in the top flat of no 45 l
