Given the price of these things now I wanted to see if I could repair it to keep keep it leak free. This DIY tip/trick/hack worked like a charm. I used both a lighter and a propane torch (to speed up the process).

Great question. The repair held up for about a year and never leaked. The pond space was repurposed for something else so it did the trick but can’t speak for it lasting longer than a year. Have a great day!
