Thank God for you. I'm a fast learner but I'm super new to the cricut. Just bought the maker. I wasn't sure what blades it came with and was about to buy the blade that's already installed. Looks like I only need the deep cut blade, etching tool, and the knife tool. Whew!

Hands down the best explanation of blades I have come across to date. I’m a new Cricut Maker owner and have various questions. Should I at all be concerned about using different mats for these deeper cut blades? Or has that been pre- determined so I won’t need to be worried? Thanks again! This was awesome!

Two questions
1) Will the Deep Cut/Deep Point Blade replacements (Blue/Black) fit in the Fine Point Blade housing Silver/Gold/Pink?
2) Also is there a difference between Deep Cut and Deep Point blade replacements? the Deep Point Blades + Housing I see have the black caps on the blades, and when searching to purchase replacements I keep seeing Deep Cut Blade replacements with Blue. Any guidance here would be helpful.
Thank you for explaining.. this c is helping a lot. I don't have a Cricut marker yet. But I'm planing to get in the future. Maybe next year.. just because I just recently bought a Brother scan and cut 2. I'm still playing with it but I think in a year from now I'll probably want to upgrade to a Cricut maker. I was really debating either to get a Cricut Explore Air 2 or BROTHER scan n Cut 2. I'm glad I went with the BROTHER scan Ncut because I think I really would like to get a Cricut maker and I'm glad I didn't invest my money on the older Cricut models

Thanks for putting this up, very helpful. I found a Cricut Explore in a dumpster, it was missing the blade housing. Sounds like the deep cut housing I ordered should be able to hold and use any blade I put in it.
00meat Plays no. The deep cut housing will not work with regular blades, but the other housings all work the same- just different colors (silver, gold, pink) The black deep cut IS actually different because it compensates for a longer blade with a different blade angle

Do you know how well the rotary blade cuts card stock? My Explore doesn't cut some brands or textures well and when/if I invest in a Maker I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it helps. I use my rotary cutter blades on paper when they aren't sharp enough for clean fabric cuts, so I am wondering...

I just ordered my cricut explore air 2 :-D and this informational video just let me know I can't use the deep blades I ordered because I need a separate blade housing :-( I am so bummed out. The correct housing is sold out, and will cost extra in shipping and fees now too in addition till having to wait to play with it... Is your promo code still good for Cricut.com. It tells me it’s not valid?
Be prepared to tape down your fabric to your mat. The adhesive DOES NOT keep your fabric down. The circuit also shreds your fabric. Be careful cutting chipboard on your purple matt it has a tendency to cut thru your Matt.

Hi I just found your video and thought while I was watching that I would ask you a question that u might be able to give me an answer too
I bought a cricut expression a few years ago and used it a few times then I put it away until a couple of weeks ago when my eldest daughter asked me if I would make her wedding invitations. Thinking that the expression would be a faster way to cut the cards out I got it down wow what a shock a received . Why did cricut bring out this machine then decide u cant do much with it I cant get online with it unless I found a computer that has windows xp I think it is I paid something like $400 for this machine what a waste of money that was

@@LauraKelleySpillane unfortunately the Maker 3 does not come with the rotary blade and pink fabric mat but they can be purchased separately and used with the Maker 3

I bought the explore air 2. And I only received the green mat with it. Is that all we are suppose to get with this maker?
Tanya Trapp-Snyder if you’ve bought a Explore Air 2 they typically come with a light grip blue mat not a green standard mat. Did you buy this from Cricut

That mat had me scurrying for something else purple in the room. I thought that I had went color blind real quick 😂 Did that purple strong grip mat look Gray to anyone else or was it just me????

If I buy the knife blade, do I need the deep cut blade?
CAMI BROWN yes. They are for different purposes. When sending your project to be cut, depending on what material you're cutting, your machine will tell you which blade to use. It is calibrated to cut each material with a specific blade.
The deep cut blades that I just bought from Cricut came with black caps on them.
now that is interesting...the packaging on Cricut shop still shows them with the blue caps...thanks for mentioning this

The blue housing is NOT for the Explore or Maker. It is for the much older machines like the Expression it is cheaper because that is an out dated machine.
The deep cut blades I got had the blue cap on them.
857dc that is not the deep cut blade. The red cap is the carbide blade- it's the fine point blade.

I bought one 4 months ago. It’s to expensive to use. Different housing for blades. The blade housings should come with the blades automatically. Again another “HOUSING” for the Rotary Blade!! OMG Replacement kit!! Can’t interchange!!! Circuit is such a RIP OFF!!!!
Great video! I tried to use your code along with my Cricut Access discount and it said your code is invalid. I will tell you that I found the Knife Housing & Blade on Amazon for even less than if your code worked along side the Access discount, $28.66 from Amazon. Just an FYI. I know you get credit when we order through Cricut, but it didn't want to let me :-( But I am happy to have found your channel regardless of the code. Gina Lis the air 2 does not have even close to enough power for the knife blade. The maker has 10x as much power behind it.
