    I love how this video - the sound, the picture quality, the narrator - seems like a 1950's science video from rural America. Awesome! Left a like :)

    You did a fine job making redstone power make sense, even though that wasn't the main focus of your video. Nice job.

    I think the reason the track acts differently when it is powered or unpowered has to do with the South-west rule. It's something you should look into if you havent already.

  • @Youcansuckme69
    @Youcansuckme69 13 років тому

    @Tang63 If you actually take the car off of the track, there is no way that the game can detect that and place a cart. However, you can just leave carts on tracks at all times and either make a closed loop or make loops at the ends of the track, then have boosters keeping it moving at all times.

  • @sonicmastersword8080
    @sonicmastersword8080 5 років тому

    I wish the boosters still worked. I always liked the concept of stored momentum, as it really located real physics to a degree. The modern concept of constantly resetting after x distance doesn’t have the same feeling.

    wrong. if you place redstone on top of a block and then next to the block the two redstone wires automatically connect. So it takes two pieces of redstone either way. When the torch is placed on the side of a block, it will provide power to redstone one block away, meaning you actually have to place one less redstone when you do it his way.

  • @Youcansuckme69
    @Youcansuckme69 13 років тому

    @TheMossink Minecraft is directional. There are things, like redstone, which vary their behavior depending on the direction. The solution: place a NOT in the circuit. A NOT just inverts the signal and is composed of any block and a redstone torch on the side that the current is travelling (current travels in one direction in minecraft, ie, in > out, no circuits like IRL)

  • @halomaster0007
    @halomaster0007 14 років тому

    @JosePablo24 has something(or nothing) to do with transference of momentum where the main cart stores the magnitude of the energy in the boosting cart and gradually uses the stored energy until it eventually runs out.
    Just enjoy the aftermath, you dont need to know specifics. :]

    If you want to hide the redstone below the surface and also try to make the track switch work from below you have to use a redstone torch under your switch

    I miss the old door sounds, they had so much more impact
    And when you consider most things back then would probably have been mined with stone tools, every man-made caver looks so much more impressive
    Learning new things was so much more fun than already knowing things.

    In fact, redstone wire will, in my experience, climb up a "covered" block like that (that is, having another block touching the corner) if you wire up the block and cover it afterwards. Then again, I only tested with stairs, so I could be wrong with actual blocks.

  • @salgurdar
    @salgurdar 14 років тому

    When you make an inverter I noticed you run redstone wire over the top of the block. That's unnecessary, you only have to apply power to the opposite side of the block to affect the redstone torch. This also allows you to run redstone wiring through a wall without the need for punching a hole through it.

    Hi Bob, I really love your tutorials and I hope you keep up the great work, I do have one question for you though....I have my set up exactly how you have yours, but my carts on the cart loop eventually run out of steam and stop looping infinitely, I was wondering if you could tell me where to place my carts initially so that they start off in the right place? I have shortened my track, made everything as tight as It can be and still cant seem to get it, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
