    In the USA the Super Cub only comes with the forward seat, but in some markets they sell it with a longer seat for two people. I had a 1985 C70 Passport and when killing distance, droning along in top gear, I often sat on the pillion, angled against the wind with my legs and back stretched. Very comfortable.

      It’s funny the shapes we make on a bike when killing distance. Thanks for your comment.

    In the USA we have these things called Pool Noodles basically a novelty floatation device for playing and splashing around in a pool or lake. They are hollow and about 2 meters long. Cut it into short lengths and split lengthwise then slip it over the rail behind the seat and now no worries about busting your tailbone. Allows you to slide rearward without fear! They come in provocative colors like; yellow pink light blue and orange. For a more muted appearance copper or PVC water pipe foam insulation noodles will do the same and come already split lengthwise but not as thick as the pool version. The CT makes for a fantastic Adventure bike - enjoy.

    That color is simply the best of the entire series of this bike, and frankly all of the MiniMoto production.

    We had a steppy 90 in the 90’s with dt175 shocks on and nobblies for pit riding… we abused that thing for years and it never died.. it went in ponds, ghosted it up jumps and apart from a split frame it was a solid bike 😂

    I cut off the rear rack bar...or you can put on a Motolord longer seat like I did...Had a shop put another layer of foam on the Motolord seat..all good now.

    I'd prefer this to a stamdard Cub though I do like the cub's enclosed wheel chain for less maintenance. Looks the business in that colour.

    • @DickWhistles
      @DickWhistles  Рік тому +1

      I have mixed feelings about the enclosed chain. I’m a bit wary about the body panels on this one for the inevitable day that I need to get under them.
      Thanks, as always, for the comments.

    To bring your body forward you can move the handlebars forward by spinning the thing they’re connected to 180 degrees. I put some risers on mine too so I can stand up.

    The seat is one of the reasons I chose the dax over the cub. I'm also not especially tall but I was sitting very far forward on the single seat

      @DickWhistles  Рік тому

      How are the other proportions on the Dax? I’m not a fan of the styling. But I am willing to be convinced. Thanks for your comment.

    • @Khar_Toba
      @Khar_Toba Рік тому

      @@DickWhistles I think the ergonomics of the Dax are pretty well identical to those of the monkey apart from the cub gearbox. they share a lot. For me I preferred the styling of the Dax. I notice those silver plastic fenders quite often though, they look like they're straight off a Honda civic.... I had initially ordered a cub but when it arrived it was sat next to a red dax in the showroom and I just asked if I could have the dax instead, they're the same price so the dealer was happy to let me. I don't regret it though it is quite small

    • @Khar_Toba
      @Khar_Toba Рік тому

      @@DickWhistles it does. I suppose they did that to differentiate it from the monkey. I've been looking into the idea of swapping the engine side plates with those of a grom or monkey to achieve a clutch lever and "normal" gears. Nobody I've spoken to quite knows if that's possible or not but in principle that's the only difference all these engines have

    The rear rack will carry another CT125.
    If you are getting too much engine braking or even wheel lock up, you are downshifting too early and high in the rev range.

    • @DickWhistles
      @DickWhistles  Рік тому +1

      I don’t think the frame would suit the PCD engine. Isn’t it more like a Vespa engine back against the rear wheel? The 125 just about fits. You can to a top end conversion that can bump it up to 185cc. There are those who also drop in pit bike engines with a standard clutch configuration. Thanks for the comment.

    Very attractive bike. For me, as I've said before, if it had a 150 engine and a conventioanl gearbox, I might be interested, although I'd rather have a Suzuki VanVan 200. Still available in Thailand.

    The CB 125 has a similar design saddle and being 6’2” I simply don’t fit so I’m sure it’s going to be a similar problem with the CT thankfully a monkey bike works well for my large frame 😂

    Thanks for the video, Dick. Picked up my green ct125 two days ago. Down here in NZ it’s an official import by Honda NZ so is priced comparatively well at approx 3,500 pounds. But the owners manual is still in Japanese!
    Bought it primarily to participate in an annual (mostly off-road) postie bike rally in the high country of the South Island. This takes place in November - our Spring.
    The gear shifting sequence is a little different, as you mention. Like you, I have a few other bikes in the stable so switching from
    one to another requires much concentration. Just hope it doesn’t get me in to too much trouble when I downshift instead of upshift. Found this helpful video which you may find alleviates the engine braking issue:
