Lol I feel u.. the 2500 has just the right amount of features.. the buttons are spaced out nicely on the machine..It has the bigger tilt screen..some people love it without even using the jj os.
Haha that tilt screen. I wish akai went back to putting that on as a standard feature. I always called this era of MPC's the "Green screens". They kept putting those ugly green screens on all their stuff.
Subbbbed as a gear hoarder and seasoned producer I love ya channel. The 1000 and 2500 benefits from the JJ O.S. I promise ya! To this day I still prefer the 4k. Period.
The last one I purchased before moving fully to DAWs, excellent machine, it worked great and enabled me to transfer and back up samples and sessions easy with the USB port, drag and drop
I have had my 2500 since it came out. Its one of those love hate things because I can make a track on it and not use it for years and come back to it 😂😂 such a good machine with what at the time you could do. Around this time people had the instant replay devices for live sets. I used the 2500 and the cd/hard drive function.
I'm glad flavor savors aren't popular anymore. I read a comment where someone said JJOS makes the midi clock unstable when using it to sequence outboard gear. Is this true?

The only issue I heard about it at the time was that the convertors on it weren't as good as previous models. I used it a few times and didn't have any issues. I had my eye on it before I went in the box
@@LS-pv4dhI'm just seeing this now. I have to watch a video about the JJOS. I still have no idea what it did for MPCs. The only model I owned before the software came out was the original 2000 which I believe it didn't work for

It's basically an MPC200XL on steroids. A faster processor, USB and compact flash for easy connectivity to a computer, SSD, resampling, EQ, compression. Its hard to hate the MPC2500!
@Allious Unknown I did not know he said that wow!!! In 2000 I was a beta tester for FL version 1.5x. I hated it because I did not know it. When version 2.5 hit I was hooked. I refurbished and finally added the JJOs upgrade to my 2500. In my opinion, this is probably the best mpc ever made behind the XL. Thanks for the video famo.
3 problems with the 2500 imo 1. sound is very dry compared to other legacy mpcs (3000, 60 etc) 2. Timestretch is not to good (still usable) 3. Only 96 PPQ (4000 & 5000 is 960 PPQ) Other than that this thing is still one of the best mpcs of all time.
MPC-1000 and MPC-2500 (Z4 Z8 samplers and MPC-4000 as well) were the last MPCs that were developed by the original Akai Professional Company in Japan. Right before they file bankrupt (one of the most messy bankrupt happened in Japan, because they were really big company for audio equipment especially audio tape decks), Akai sold the rights of brand name to Numark. JJ didn't leave Akai, but Akai closed forever. So, it's kinda wrong to call 1000 and 2500 "Numark MPC" or "Nukai MPC." MPC-4000 was developed by new Akai, which is basically Numark, Alesis, ION, etc. That's why MPC-4000 and MPC-5000 are so different.
The MPC4000 had been in production since 2001-2002 before the MPC1000 and MPC2500 were ever released. Remember the white-faced 4000s with the purple trim? After the transition with the company and Akai as a brand became owned by the parent conpany that also owns Numark, the MPC4000 remained in production but with a new color scheme----blue. Oh, and the optional accessories become standard. I'm saying all that to say this. The MPC4000 was one of the last MPCs if not THE last MPC to be made by the original Japanese Akai company. The MPC1000 and MPC2500 came later after the 4000. Now the MPC5000, which was released in 2008, WAS developed by the new Akai company without a doubt.

I love the green screen. Might be biased cause my pops used to rock the 2500 but I think it looks clean visually
