The History of the AKAI MPC: Part 8- The MPC2500 was the last mpc that JJOS could get into to load it JJOS operating system on it was a great mpc and followed in the line of the MPC2000XL but had a better or more cleaner sampler and had a flip up screen. It never got that popular but sold everywhere but it's hard to find.

The best MPC ever… not trying to be a DAW in a box… modern enough to be easy to live with. Punchy sound and a great workflow once you’ve learned the basics

I love the live II, but I had to pull my 2500 back out for this reason. The magic of older mpcs is the simplicity. I was starting to feel like I was using an ipad app with the live.
