    I was waiting for this chapter. 😍
    I am an young adult. Last year, God called me (I accepted my callings) to be a prayer warrior, pure, and a preacher. God told me to write my first sermon for my peers.
    Title: From the Temple, God Calls
    Scriptures: 1 Samuel 3:8-11, 16-17
    My points: Believe there is a God, Learn the Voice of God, and Obey God.
    I paralleled 1 Samuel 3:3-4 to 1 Corinthians 6:19, "Do you not know that your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who you received from God? You are not your own."
    God called Samuel in the temple and we are temples, which means God is calling us too.
    I love this series!!!! What a blessing!!!! I am so excited for next week!!!!

    Sister Kim,
    God always confirms his Word! I have had the Lord speak things to me that I didn't even know were in the Bible. Then I came across them in the Holy scriptures! Hallelujah 🙌 The Lord is faithful to his Word!

    The other day during church, the Holy Spirit spoke to me so clearly and did not let go until I obeyed! A huge weight was lifted off of me and it truly is a testament of what God can do when we cling. Thank you for allowing us to study and grow with you.

    I am late to this study but I am enjoying it so much. Thank you for sharing. Every time I study His word I learn something new. It is amazing to me how the Bible has so many layers and we can learn so much every time we study. Thank you so much again for this series.

    What a great study in God's word. I praise God for you. God is looking for us not to only trust him, but listen and obey. Samuel had a heart for God and once he knew it was God calling him he was ready to listen. Thank you Kim for this great study in 1 Samuel and your book "Cling". I'm enjoying both!! Love you sis

      GeJoan, amen, Samuel had such a heart for God! It's amazing to read that he didn't yet know Him, but his heart was ready to yield. So much grace! So thankful to be studying with you, sis, and always so thankful for your sweet encouragement. Love you too!

    Verse 15 really ministered to me. Fear can be a stifling force if we fail to courageously depend on God. Even though Samuel was afraid to share the "heavy news" with Eli, he did so anyway. AND our faithful God was with him. This serves as a reminder for me that we should cling to a faithful God. He is already there to give us the desires of our hearts within his will; He patiently waits on us to cling. This is such a beautiful chapter that you break down with such simplicity. I am grateful for your teaching.

      Shannicka Triplett with LIGHT In Education Shannicka that verse resonates with me as well. It feels like Samuels focus was on kingdom building and faith. v15 says Samuel laid down until morning, I wonder did he sleep? I don't think I could've. 😁

      Such a great point about pushing past fear, sis. Oh, the blessings in, as you say, courageously depending on God! He truly is faithful. Thank you for bringing that our. So encouraging!

    Oh my how rich and fulfilling the Word of God is. I love so much about this chapter verse 10 Then the Lord came and stood and called as the other times., Samuel! Samuel! not only did God call him by name the word says "He came" why is it that once Samuel responded with speak for your servant is listening, did God come as mentioned in V10. What an invitation!!!!. If we ever thought we had a message to tell, imagine trying to gather the courage to tell your employer bad news about him and his family. Wow.

    • @kimcashtate
      @kimcashtate  7 років тому

      I so love verse 10 as well, Laverne. What an invitation indeed! And YES, so difficult to give a hard word to someone from God. And as you said, what if it's your employer? Samuel was learning so much, yet through it all had a heart of obedience. I love that.

      kimcashtate Today as I was working I stop and looked at Samuel, and just as he said I said. Speak Lord I'm listening. I don't know if anything was said yet, but that will become
      a practice of mine. Speak Lord, I'm listening

    my version reads for v.19..."... let none of his words fall to the ground" and then when you quoted Deut 18:20-22... I was like "come on sis...Preach"... because 'dem false prophets nowadays in the Body of Christ, it is just so appalling...and when they are caught, "prophelying"...they indeed want to make people believe that sometimes a true prophet of God can miss when the Word of God says otherwise. I want to hear God for myself and that is why I am clinging. Looking forward to next week.

    • @kimcashtate
      @kimcashtate  7 років тому +1

      I love that wording as well..."let none of his words fall to the ground"....so picturesque, and shows God actively watching over His word. "I want to hear God for myself and that is why I am clinging"......amen, sis, on both counts!
