Thank you very much my friend. record vinyls fan here.
You are very welcome! So happy that you enjoy the vintage 80’s vinyl goodies. Still learning this impressive decade with so many lost treasures. So much fun to share!
The 4th installment in this series maybe my favorite. You pulled more out of your 84 arsenal! ABC, Human League, INXS, Thompson Twins, Alphaville, Tears for Fears, Echo and the Bunnymen all outstanding. The Danse society I had completely forgot about. They were not on my wishlist so I added them.
Hi Shawn. It’s great to hear that, my friend. So happy to take time and pull more vinyl treasures from the shelves & celebrate 40 years of these releases. ABC, Human League, & the other great New Wave acts were essential; consistently tweaking their sound each year - early to mid-80’s. Still fascinated to me how many 12” singles were released the previous year to the actual album release. Stay tuned for some collectible vinyl in my next video. Let’s have some fun!
Thank you for yet another great video sharing your records.
It’s my pleasure, Jeffrey! So happy that you took time to watch my video for the birth of 1984’s Music explosion. Obviously, this is my favorite year and it’s so much fun to share my collection with the vinyl community. When I go digging in the record stores, it seems that I always gravitate towards the 80’s stuff; especially around ‘84. I’m going to show some collectible records next; not necessarily the highest priced and most rare, but the “must-have” vinyl. Stay tuned and thanks again for your comment.
I never knew Daryl Hall sang on Original Sin by INXS. The group despite having a few albums out had not hit big time yet. So, for someone as popular as Daryl singing on one of their songs is interesting.
I’ll look into Axodry - never heard of them. Thanks for introducing them to me.
You were the teacher for this episode. I have no anecdotes to share with you. I will go online to listen to some of your other suggestions, specifically Echo and the Bunnymen, Strafe, and that really cool Electric Breakdance LP.
Early to mid-80’s material released by INXS is their best work in my opinion. I never knew about Daryl Hall in the background till after I bought the 12” single. Now, every time I play it or hear it on the radio, I think about the “mystery” talent in the background. I promise you will enjoy Axodry - “You” I’ll See You in my Dreams. I first heard this track on a mixed tape I recorded from late-night dance club radio back in the day. I never knew the artist or title; I actually wrote on my tape card “I Can See Your Face”… not knowing. No internet back then; and not in my local record stores. I remember back in 2004, scored this gem in Gulfport / Biloxi Mississippi from Goldmines Records for $10.00. The next year, I think the store was wiped out from Hurricane Katrina that devastated the coast the following year - 2005. All those record… what a shame. For Echo & the Bunnymen, my 12” singles collection is complete. I still don’t own any OG full length LP’s. They are so “pricey”. Good chat as always!
A couple days ago at a record shop I stumbled upon the 12 inch single of a 1984 release from Royalcash. The title is Space Traveler. I had never heard this electro song. My favorite is the instrumental version. We are all very familiar with their biggest hit, Radio Activity.
Hi Jeffrey! That’s a great pickup with Space Traveler. I haven’t heard that electro track in many years. Actually, I purchased this record back in ‘84 during its release - a memorable moment from my past. I too flipped the record over to spin the instrumental version; it was my favorite as well. Thanks for resurrecting this Old School Electro jam from the ashes. Take care!
i have that alphaville single! love big in Japan
That is awesome to hear that. When I first heard this song, I played it over and over again. I bought Alphaville’s CD about 3 years ago and it surprised me the quality of the tracks - 1984 releases. I enjoyed the entire CD, and now the vinyl is on my Want List. Kind of “pricey” right now but just waiting on a NM copy for a lower price. Big in Japan is definitely my favorite & it’s so cool we have the same taste in music. Hopefully, I’ll have some more goodies to share in my next video. Take care!
The Dance Society Say it Again is a good track. Probably their most popular came out in 1985. Extended Dance Mix
Thanks for reminding me about this gem. I do have it on the shelves; purchased from Houston about 2 years ago. It’s time to bring it back to life! Thanks for coming aboard my channel & very appreciative of your comment. Till next time…
Keep them coming Klassic Jam…… Enjoy your video’s…. Love 80’s Vinyl
Thanks for another walk down memory Lane. Looking forward to your next video about rare vinyl. A possible future topic could be coloured and picture disc vinyl.
Out of curiosity, what are your top 3 vinyl wants.?
My top 3 that’s been in & out of my Want List for years would be Steve Masters - Turntable Aktion (promo) on Tripindicular records (purple label) - 1989, Information Society - Running (with Swamp Mix) - green label - Wide Angle records - 1984, Omega II - Sonic Boom - Showroom records - 1988. There you go! Love to have these in my collection. I don’t have a large colored vinyl collection; maybe some Razormaids and a handful of others. Thanks again & appreciate your top notch recommendations.
@@klassicjam I've never heard of Turntable Aktion and Sonic Boom until now. Running I know but on the Tommy Boy label. Thanks for the info.
I think your copy of set it off is an unofficial release. But it's definitely a classic track.
Oh wow! That’s great to know this information. Maybe it’s a rare piece in my collection. Thanks for checking on this.
@@klassicjam back then unofficial releases were sort of common at independently owned record stores that served the DJ community. An example would be Voices by KC Flightt from 1991. Yellow label is the bootleg.
Good to know, my friend. Thanks for sharing your vinyl wisdom. I’m still learning every day.
@@klassicjam All of us are learning together. Love your vids.
