I use mine for guitar, and violin! I haven't used them on keyboards yet! Good idea!
Aaron do you know how to go about getting a pair of replacement cushions? On the instruction sheet it says they are replaceable but on the Boss website there is no indication of how to go about it. Thanks. SL.
About the cable, you could consider to buy the connectors and solder the cable yourself. I'm not a very technical person, but learned to solder my guitar and headphone cables long time ago. Initially to save costs, but now it is so covenient to always have the right size cables and patch cables for pedal boards. Give it try!
Thanks So Much for this Aaron - I've been searching for quite a while for an extender cable for my S series Ibanez! Cheers!
Awesome!
I bought some. I would keep them but the ear-pads are just too small.
They really need to have some full sized cups like the hd650 or similar.
The DSP was really dark and the latency kinda got worse when you start
adding distortion and effects. Although I plugged them into the
headphone out of my Laney IRT studio with cab sim off and they sounded
glorious. I would keep them just for that alone if it weren't for the
earpads... sorry Yoshi.
Aaron thanks for the links! I love the Waza phones but was extremely disappointed that Boss did not include a carrying case for $450 headphones? WTF boss???
This was very insulting as a buyer! If the phones did not sound so stellar i would have said FU boss!
principle
You're welcome! I see your point but then again many products come without accessories these days since some people don't need them. It would have been nice though I agree.
Now you scared me. I have ordered one of these and i have fishman fluence modernd. Hopefully it will still work
Please let us know if it works.
Tried using the adapter with my Ibanez RGD61ALA, still get this really weird noise. Any ideas?
If the adapter is long enough to keep it away then it should be ok. I’m sure there will be some active systems that are just not compatible.
Meh
Great stuff. I have one question - have you ever tried to connect transmitter to mixer so it transmits audio signal from mixer to headphones with no effect at all? Thx in advance for answering.
I have not but it will transmit any audio as long as the transmitter fits.
Knew about the cable, found a good one on sweet water, but thank you for the wireless pouch and carrying case! Can you make a video about what apps work well with these headphones that allow you to play with a metronome because the noise canceling in these are awesome but sucks when you try a metronome.
Thanks. Have you tried the ‘Tempo’ app. I love it but I haven’t tried it with the Air yet.
Very informative. Thanks! I immediately ordered those items for my new Waza-Air headphones. I’m surprised Boss hasn’t at least come up with a case for the ‘phones.
Congratulations on the new headphones. I agree about the case but I guess they figure that there are many on the market already.
The most important accessory is the aux mod. If you had it, you can record what you play... And show it on this video.
How do you used as a monitors? I try to turn off the amp section, and get a flat response but I don’t see an option to do it. Can you help me with that?
Where can I buy the case, the amzn link directs to a gift card.

American Musical Supply carries the "official" Boss Waza-Air Bag carrying case model: CB-WZ-AIR for around $29.99.
Nr Taunton, Somerset. UK.
Thanks Aaron. BTW, BOSS do now make a carry case for them - $50 Australian, so about US$30.
Thank you. I have seen it and it’s nice!
Very informative!!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this great video. I plug the transmitter into the line out port of my katana amp which works great, but it goes into standby mode after about 5 minutes. I tried disabling standby mode in the settings but this doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?
Disabling standby should work. you do have to dock the transmitter back into the headphones for the chase to be accepted...
Very useful thanks. It would be very helpful if you could identify the case you found or where to find them.
I don’t think they are available any more but there should be similar cases on Amazon.
Justs bought the case and it's too small. You must have some different one on the video, as the one from the link is at least half the size of yours.
I just checked the link, it’s the same as what I have. You have to fold the headphones up so that they fit.
Another great video, thanks Aaron you are so good at explaining things.
Good Ideas! I recommend getting a mono cable or adapter if you have active electronics in your guitar since they use the sleeve to make the power connection. If you use TRS instead of just TS like your instrument cable there may be complications. So something like: Seismic Audio 1 Foot Mono 1/4 Inch Female to Right Angle Male Audio Extension Cable (SA-QFSMR1) or just a 1/4 to 1/4 mono adapter like Ancable 2-Pack Premium 1/4 Inch Right Angle Guitar Cable Adapter, 6.35mm 1/4" TS Mono Male to Female. I can't verify the quality but you get the idea.
The cable I mentioned worked fine for connecting to a Kemper etc but I’ll check those ones out!
Hi Aaron, do you perhaps know if these headphones can be used with an amplifier, connected to the headphones output? I’m planning to use them connected to the phones output of the Waza Tube Amp Expander to bypass the amp modeling when I have an actual amp available and use them as headphones only for that case. Thank you!
Hi. Yes you can use them with any 1/4” headphones out. Being wireless there MAY be a chance of interference with some gear but you can always buy an extension adapter from Amazon if that happens.
Hi again Aaron...
secondly to the pencil debacle! I have another question?
When pugged into the headphone out on my helix... I expected the delays that I send in stereo to be true stereo in the WAZA-AIR headphones however all delays come straight down the middle... mono or stereo blocks enabled.
the transmitter as far as I can see is a TRS ( 2 rings on jack) am I confused... I suspect I am:)
Cheers, enjoying the vids.
Hey I believe that you should use the main out and not the headphone jack from the Helix and I also think that the transmitter is mono and not stereo. I would have to research that...
Hi Aaron, was just wondering if their is anyway to record with these headphones into GarageBand on iPhone/iPad. Will adding an additional cable through an interface work? Cheers
Hey Nic. Sadly there is not. They are for headphone use only.
Hi Aaron,
Is there any way to send video from an iPhone to a tv without the audio dropping out of the headphones ?
As soon as I plug a lightning to HDMI cable into my phone the audio (UA-cam) drops out of the headphones same if I try and Chromecast .
I would really just like a way to have the audio from what is playing on the television in the headphones.
Hey, I never tried this but I assume that when you plug in the phone audio is taking over. I’m not sure that what you are trying to do is possible but maybe someone else reading this can help.
Hi Aaron, how are you getting round the motion sensor switching off the transmitter when plugged into your helix... mine cuts out after about 6 minutes... I bought an extension cable which is a great solution and works for interference.. however to stop it cutting out I resorted to hanging it over 2 pencils and an elastic band in the hope that it would swing... this is a crap solution! I am not proud of myself... sad face!
That is certainly not ideal! There is a setting in the app that you can change from motion sensing to sound sensing. Set it to the later and make sure you dock the transmitter into the headphones for the setting to take effect!
HI Aaron - thanks for a great channel and content. Could I plug these into the headphone out on a Yamaha THR5a and get no latency ? Anybody else tried that combo? Thanks
Thank you Peter. There is no such thing as no latency, especially with wireless but when I used them this way it didn’t bother me so you should be fine!
Really Nice! I didnt think I could use it with my aucustic guitar. Thanx for the info!
Thanks Thomas!
Any ideas to reduce sweaty spot around ears from ear cushions?
No but the struggle is real!
With the price you pay it should of came with a case !
Thanks for watching and your comment Mike.
Hi, where can I buy that extender cable?
It’s in the video description.
Nice video my buddy!
Thank you Chad!
Maybe you have some Nice settings for you aucustic on the Tone Studio App you can share?
Hi Thomas. Just choose the acoustic or flat setting and add a nice reverb. You may want to use Eq, chorus and compression as well. It really depends on your pickup and the sound that you are looking for. I don’t have any patches saved for the Waza but I have covered and will cover these effects in another video at some point and they are all applicable to the Waza Airs.
J T I was talking about my acoustic not electric sorry!
Thanks for all the info, the two week review pushed me over the edge and got me to buy lol. Do these work as just bluetooth headphones aside from the backing tracks? If I pair to my phone, can I use them to listen to, say, spotify? I'm already buying them, I just wanted to know if I could get another function out of them. Cheers man
Hey thank you and yes they do work as very good Bluetooth headphones!
Yes they do and gives you a different experience vs the regular ones. They are just amazing.
I would buy a set of Waza Air headphones if anyone had any! Even the January delivery that no one yet has received has already pre sold. If you know of anywhere that has free stock feel free to share.
Where are you located?
Aaron Short Music Nr Taunton, Somerset. UK
Can you connect a Wah wah pedal while using the Wazza and if so how do you set that up? Thank you!
Hi. I guess you could plug your guitar into a wah and then connect the transmitter into the output of the wah. It would be first in the effects chain which is generally where you place a wah. The only downside is that you will no longer be wireless.
@@aaronshortmusic Thank you Aaron! I will give that a try once I get my Wazza in hand!
Great Video dude. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Billy!
a quick question if you plug it into something stationary how do you stop it from turning off from the movement sensor, I switch mine to stay on by audio but that makes no difference.
cheers
I switched it to audio. You do have to pair them together again by inserting the transmitter into the headphones to confirm the action. If that doesn’t fix it then I would email Boss.
Awesome thank you very much
@@fastwayguitar You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
Aaron - So I can use this with my electric acoustic so long as I get the small extension cable. GENIUS. Does this then work with the guitar tuner/tone, volume control toggle switch in the on position like you would if you were plugged into an amp? A quick answer would be very much appreciated as I’ve taken delivery of the unit and can’t get it working on my acoustic. Thank you so much and advance!
Hi Matt. Do you mean the tone/volume control on your acoustic guitar? If so then yes they will still work.
@@aaronshortmusic you’re amazing man! Right now with the guitar off and Bluetooth receiver plugged in, all I get is a tick tick tick sound with no guitar at all. When I turn on the power/tune button there’s silence. One would think then according to your instructions the adaptor Shorty cable would get rid of the distortion (ticking) meaning the power on the guitar is actually turned off in normal working mode? Does that make sense?Apologies as I never play live and plugged in with this guitar. Once I understand I’ll buy all the accessories from your referral links. Thank you very much once again.
@@mattstepchuk I’m a little confused but if you have an active preamp in the guitar and hear ticking then the adapter cable should fix that.
@@aaronshortmusic I’ll give it a shot with those accessories you’ve recommended and provided links for. Thank you so much for this support!
@@mattstepchuk You’re welcome Matt.
Does the waza air fit a telecaster?
It fit in my Tele Deluxe. You can always use a small adapter cable if required.
@@aaronshortmusic Nice, because I already ordered one ☝️
@@JohnAdams-rm7zm Congrats!
How do I play backing tracks when using these headphones?
You can stream Bluetooth audio to them while you play!
Aaron Short Music idk if I’m doing something wrong but on my iPhone it lists MIDI only and I can’t hear the backing tracks just my guitar audio
Al Mond You have to go into your iPhone Bluetooth settings and add the audio part as a device as well as the guitar. It’s like adding two devices.
Aaron Short Music oh ok I’ll check it out thank you for your help and quick response.
Al Mond You’re welcome! Check the manual as well. I’m sure it covers all of that. There may be additional information on the Boss website as well if I remember correctly.
Great video! Waiting for my headset, sold out everywhere! Is there a looper pedal in the boss app?
Yes the demand is very high for these! There is no looper but you could use a looper pedal/guitar modeler with them.
@@aaronshortmusic I do that, but then I have the issue where the transmitter shuts off because it detects no movement. Is there any remedy for that?
Philip Huysmans Yes. In settings you can change the setting from movement to time out. Be sure to resync the transmitter after you do this in order for the change to take effect.
@@aaronshortmusic I'm not sure why that's useful though? You'd be stuck to the position of the looper pedal, which kind of negates the need for wireless, doesn't it?
@@tomlupton3975 Yeah. It just means no cables dangling around and when you’re not looping you can walk around.
Nice video, thank you. Would love to know how you are using them with your pedal board. Cheers!
Hey Brad. I have not used them with a pedal board exactly but I have used them in the output of my Helix/Kemper etc. It works great!
@@aaronshortmusic Thank you for the response Aaron, much appreciated.
Brad Z You’re welcome!
@@aaronshortmusic hi, when you use it with the helix.. do you use the flat amp option in order to get the amp from the helix?
Julian Montero Yes.
