Hey Maggots . We did it . A metal song is #1 trending.
@Dib Spicer because slipknot sucks, in especially the fan base
@Dib Spicer it's a fact, poser
@Dib Spicer how many bands do you know*
@Dib Spicer my point is that slipknot sucks balls comparative to the other hundreds of bands that exist.
@@pieckfinger6374 who say that?
I can relate to him when he says “You’ve killed the saint in me.” Because I was with someone for around three years and I cared for her deeply and when she cheated on me I basically stopped caring about anything. I wasn’t near as nice and polite as I used to be and my patience for certain things was dropped drastically from all of the mental anguish I had endured through that time. I’m not really sure what he meant but that’s how I interpret it.
Whoa... that makes sense
I feel yeah... 3 1/2 yrs with a chick, got engaged, found out she cheated 3 different times. I was heartbroken, pissed, and relieved.
I feel you bro
so just putting out my thoughts - Corey did say that he had written a lot about his depression for this album, and im thinking this is one, also in the video there are two women, older and younger, the younger is visually reminciscent of coreys ex wife, and the older is reminiscent of his grandmother who passed away mid last year. so this song i think is about the 'shadowself' as sori put it, the depression locked inside, how it changes you, 'youve killed the saint in me', and the anger towards said change, 'how dare you martyr me'.
i dont think this is about chris, its seeming to shape up as a whole 'The Negative One' situation, everyone thought it was about joey, but realistically its about a battle in yourself, just like The Devil In I, and now Unsainted.
Anywho, just my thoughts :)
Corey has said this song is about him battling depression and contemplating suicide.
Nicely said. Corey did say in a interview awhile back that this album was gonna be "very personal" about his ups and downs. And about his relationship with his ex.
I knew the release of this new Slipknot song would bring y’all out of maternity leave status. I just knew it!! Good to see y’all back even if it’s just for a minute. annnnnnd GO! 🤘🏽
It took SLIPKNOT to bring back Sori! Now...about those two new live Tool songs.....
Could be right
I was going to like this comment then I saw you're a golden knights fan 🤪
insertgenericusernamehere do t gotta like my hockey team to like my comment!!! Lol....are you a Sharks fan?
@@alexfrank6534 Caps 😂 buddy If I liked your comment my girlfriend would shoot me
insertgenericusernamehere CAPS are fine. Ya’ll won that championship fairly and decisively. It the Sharks we all hate out here! I’m currently a Blues Fan and if they lose I assume I will be a Bruins fan for the Cup. Lol
Pretty sure the songs on this album got recorded before Chris left the band so I doubt it would be about him.
Yeah it makes sense dude 🤙🤙🤙
i agree!
The majority is about Corey’s personal life and especially about the time he and his wife broke up. Pretty deep shit, this album is going to be brutal.
There's one called Liars Funeral on the new album. My guess is he rewrote the lyrics to give his take
Exactly I was gonna say the same thing. It's all mostly personal shit in Corey's life
Corey kills the chorus on this! Agression is so solid on this. His voice just carries this to the next level.
Song is about depression and Corey dealing with his internal "demons". Sinking to the limit and coming out of it. Congrats on the baby, Sori and Vin! Subbed with my second channel. 🤘🤘
Congratulations on your new blessing. Love your videos and thanks for making them. God bless y'all
Good to see that you guys are holding up and still alert for new music. I hope that you and the baby are doing well!
I always look forward to reactions, especially this one. You guys kill it everytime.
Love yalls channel!! Your hair looks beautiful sori!!!
Great to watch another slipknot reaction
Its pretty incredible that this was number 1 trending on UA-cam yesterday fuckin love the song though that eerie operatic choir type opening is super cool loving the new masks as well everything is sounding tight and heavy Jay killing it on the drums Corey sounds awesome and the guitars are crunching
I think he's talking about himself. Corey has tried to commit suicide twice and I think he's talking to that part of himself....
"Oh, I’ll never kill myself to save my soul/I was gone but how was I to know?
I didn’t come this far to sink so low/I’m finally holding on to letting go"
Then later.....
"Did you think you could win? And fill me in?
Did you think you could do it again? I’m not your sin
I was all that you wanted and more- but you didn’t want me
I was more than you thought I could be
So I’m setting you free- I’m setting you free"
Matt Powell Didn't know that my friend
@@thomasackerly7732 Yep, it's talked about in this video about 2 minutes in ua-cam.com/video/f00p6-JSHvA/v-deo.html
The other attempt was him about to jump out the window of hotel after a breakup I believe. There are also videos of him speaking to a therapist and talks about his sexual abuse and suicide attempts. He also is a part of a suicide awareness foundation yourockfoundation.org/
You guys have the best reactions on UA-cam bar none. You play the whole song without interruption, read the lyrics, and provide a real, thorough explanation of your thoughts. Others just react, you guys examine and discuss. It's greatly appreciated!
Appreciate that my guy!
When those vocals first come in, I got some serious Vol 3 vibes, and then the verse is very Iowa. Looking forward to this stuff.
Wow, and on the same day! You guys are on the ball
Great! now my neck hurts.
This song rocked hard AF
Going to see them in Dallas! Can't wait!!!
Got notified immediately clicked get ready vin and sori \m/
I got to see this live August 16th!!! These guys are badass
Vin I don't know what you are doing different than all the other reactors but I must give you much credit and respect for the way you are recording your sound the music sounds great on this end much better than most others and I appreciate it as much as your and Sori's take on lyrics
The song is about fighting depression, and the first line "I'll never kill myself to save my soul" is all about it, killing yourself is not escape from the situation.
Slipknot is one of the only bands still bringing the chaos and amazing music! Can't say anymore
They still have that "magic"
@@herbivore7108 One of the only bands I can tolerate these days.
Just found your channel, thanks !
Brilliant vocalist and brilliant writer
Congrats by the way.
Honestly not as heavy as I expected.
But man the part where Sid came in was pretty nice and heavy.
To be fair, this is the 1st single so I'm withholding judgement until I hear more.
all out life is not on this album, I cant wait to hear more
@@leeloodallas151 I know that. I was just saying it's a bit early to be saying this isn't heavy enough.
Remember that Slipknot typically releases more "radio friendly" songs as singles
@@robertn4840 dude, I've been listening to them since Vol 3. 'Duality' was the song that got me into their sound. So I'm aware of how this works.
SORI!!! I dig your shirt!!!
Corey's scream live is awesome though, and singing
Seeing them in July! Can’t wait!
Love your way to do video reactions guys, hope you have a dope ass day hahaha
this track is so ....Corey puts his heart and soul into everything, and it shows here. I can't make up my mind if this is too weird, or if this is the greatest Slipknot song ever...either way I smell at LEAST a Grammy nomination. I feel this song is an inner struggle about recent deaths (band members, friends, relationships) and how he isn't going to let them ruin him or his music. When he talks about letting it go, setting them free, I think he is talking about situations, not people in specific.
Nice channel, your insights and thoughts are linear to mine, so i subbed :-)
The Grunt Style shirt! Im a fan! 🤘
You are so right vin
Loving the new knot :D song 4th time tonight lol, looking forward to the new album
Good video, keep the Good work up/from Sweden
14:37 Yeah I think Vin is right that being responsible with what people tell you in confidence, should be default behavior, but Sori is right that a lot of people don't see it that way today. Many applaud fish for swimming.
Vin man you say so quickly not what you were expecting give it it chance to kick in bro now was it what you expected lol I 🤘
"This is not what I was expecting." 🤘
A perfect Mixture between STONE SOUR & SLIPKNOT !
I was waiting for Vin to mention M Shadows also with the best new metal singers
Fuck yes!! 🤘😜🤘 New Slipknot. New masks revealed. New Vin and Sori vid. . . It's a wonderful day! 😁
All we need now is them listen to the song "invincible" by tool and this day will be out of this world for me
it's like they took the first album and Iowa and smooshed it together. love it
James Green wtf haha that sounds nothing like self titled and Iowa literally no similarities. Iowa and self titled were disgusting to the ear almost it was so dark also this is nothing similar
28:00 I know what you’re talking about, if we didn’t have social media we’d just get over certain people but to know that you could just look them up at anytime, it keeps people from moving on. You guys always speak the truth about a lot of things. I like the commentary, I’ve been a maggot for long time now and I’m not too sure this song has anything to do with Chris unless they added something in real quick that happened like a month or so ago. But great video loved it.
Arch Enemy - We Will Rise + Fields of Desolation (LIVE Tyrants of the Rising Sun 2008)

Check out the band Nothing More.
theonlyjonah specifically Jenny and Fade Out/In
I like this song a lot - never been a huge Slipknot fan but this one was very good. 8/10.
This song is like the Yin and Yang of ones self. Everyone has light and darkness in them. As long as you won't face what you have done or look in the mirror and accept the consequences, you will always have conflict within yourself. The effigy at the end of the video was like them shedding that darkness and becoming new. Letting go of the past.
Wow, my same reaction, so good!
do not forget Jonathan Davis when talking about good (nu)metal vocalists.
Love the Grunt Style t-shirt. Did one, or both of you guys serve?
Sori gets it.
BADA$$ song , thx and welcome back .. Just a little history for you .. I was at ROCKVILLE when TOOL first did there two new songs live .. O'yea did i say SOULFLY - TRIBE ?!?!?!?!
Corey's new mask looks a lot like Cardinal Copia from Ghost.
I think it has a very Phantom of Opera vibe to it.
RDreamer paint a red spirale on each cheak then it looks like saw
I think it’s got a very same old shit vibe to all of them.
I get like a michael myers vibe when there is a distance untill you see the mouth up close.
The video itself looks like his intro video or whatever
I am brazillian and i Love yours
Now is it what you expected give it a chance to get rollin dude
Corey said alot of this his mask included is the villain version. Of himself and its aimed at the fans that judge him on the music he makes and being in both slipknot and stone sour
Ok people, yes this song may have been recorded before Chris left/was booted/ whatever or NOT. There is a thing called rewriting a song, reshooting scenes for videos,or just creating allegory. It happens with movies all the time!!
Batushka released a new Song. The band is split so there is techinically 2 Batushkas now. The guitarist started another Batushka. But the OG Batushka is on Metal Blade Records youtube.
Ppl keep complaining about it not being iowa heavy but sid's part and Corey's scream is gnarlyyyyy
In my opinion the whole airing things out and staying silent is a matter of integrity BUT most people do feel like they did something major by not betraying trusts when they have the right to...firat vid of yals andddd i loved it w very diverse opinions...great job
Check out scar symmetry. Amazing vocals.
Corey's singing in Stone Sour is what sold me on Slipknot. Before then, I was always too creeped out by the masks to listen to Slipknot properly. As All Out Life and Unsainted came out, plus watching reactions of earlier songs, I'm intrigued to go back and listen to entire Slipknot albums.
I think it's about fighting personal demons, it could be about anything really. It's one of those songs were it can mean whatever you want it to mean. I just think the Chris idea (while it makes sense) cant be possible since they most likely recorded this before Chris 'left'. Did he even leave? Look at the 9th member in this video; zip mouth, chopped off nose and destroyed face. Who's under the mask? Is Chris still in the band? Or is the new guys mask just based off Chris' feud with the band? There's so much to think about with this song and album which has got me really excited!
Maybe you're right about sing theme @VinAnd Sori. In that case both music vid setting and lyrics/choir elements seams Ghost inspired.
The song is about a movie call Begotten. Corey's mask looks just like the guy in the movie
Slipknot has something called insert coin which is a post from them about Chris the other band member

Moonspell - Night Eternal
when they made a Once Upon a Time reference, I freaked lol
Dorian Griffin what was the reference?
@@faris3568 When Regina drank Dr.Jekel's serum to split her most inner evil side from her self. She wanted to be good so she though to just kill her evil side . However, she failed and Evil Regina was part of the main plot for like 15 episodes
Awww that point where Sori smiles in response to Vin saying he won’t call out a transgressor publicly for airing out something shared in confidence, and just be a man and not necessarily a bigger man. Priceless :)
The nu-metal scene started towards the end of 1999 for slipknot where they got their break with ozfest. An it was ex member Chris fehn who left the band with payments that he was supposedly owed but can't go into it cause of legal reasons. Its a bit like the phrase its spiting your own nose of your own face. The song is like riding of their sins.
Vin done almost stopped his heart with that slap 😂
Thats a kick as shirt, i have a couple just like it ;)
16:00 Sori is right about the heroic feeling stuff (for german people)
I love your guys channel!
You gotta react to 'Slipknot - Gematria' sometime!!
yes please.my favorite song by them
@@spacewaffle92 same
Septicflesh-the vampire from Nazareth please
Enemy of Truth
Ohhhhhh fuck yes Vampire from Nazareth is A-MAZ-ING
May be is about himself, abuse experience = unsainted, that is why he sings "you have killed the saint in me".
In terms of David Draiman (Disturbed singer), checkout Down with the Sickness, Vengeful One, The Game, The Animal, etc...you wont be dissapointed.
Yeah, David Draiman is a beast. I missed your Nu Metal song reactions tho.
Corey's new mask reminds me of the little puppet bastard from Saw without the red swirls on the cheeks.
You need to hear Christian Alvestam (Scar Symmetry, Solution .45), best clean\growl i've ever heard.
Corey said that he vented about his divorce with this album so i think its about that and not Chris personally.
Black Tongue - Ultima Necat
Black Tongue - Second Death
The eternal return to ruin
slipknot!!!! TILL WE DIE \../
More Tremonti y’all! 🤘🏼👍🏼✌🏻
Corey did say something on the matter if you look it up vin
Chris has said in interviews we was raised in a Christian family and was VERY Religious growing up. He started to fade away from the church when he joined Slipknot. So, the song could b about Chris but religion was connected to it to make him know it's about him. Maybe Chris told Corey at one point "you killed the saint in me" after Slipknot blew up.
Corey killed it singing the Spongebob theme song.
You should react to At the Gates blinded by fear or terminal spirit disease. You'd find the lyrics very interesting
Chorus melody courtesy of American Authors - Best Day Of My Life
Kills me man lol When I found that out.....I almost felt disrespected as a Slipknot fan. Like......idk.....remember the early days Slipknot mission statement? Now they are ripping off pop indie groups haha ugh
@@IanVase Alex Hefner pointed it out, and he nailed it. I knew it sounded familiar, it's definitely an earworm.
I love his reaction at 3:19 lmao his eyes got big 👁👁
Lajon witherspoon for the win. #Sevendust
And Straight Line Stitch too.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS SEVENDUST LJ IS A BEAST
Corey is actually an insane singer, have you seen his acoustic music videos?
