I recently bought one of these shotguns in FDE from kygunco and they were remarkably friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Since I had never purchased a gun online before, I was somewhat reticent about the process . The staff walked me through the steps without a hitch. A big thanks to the staff BTW, the gun is beautiful; I’m putting a Holsun 510c RDS on it.
I bought the first edition Beretta 1301 Tactical for just under one grand years ago then spent several hundred more in upgrades. It is lighter than the M4 and easier to carry around and shoot all day long even with 18 rounds in and on the shotgun. If you are on a budget, get the Maverick 88 and send the barrel to Vang Comp for modification. When it comes back, sight it in with slugs and change the front sight as needed.
I recently got a ultima patrol and added a pro lifter to it... it helps so much when loading the firearm compared to before I installed it. its night and day, even unloading the magazine tube is significantly easier, its definitely the way to go with the Berettas. they can be installed on nearly every model SA shotgun they manufacture, just make sure you get the right model lifter depending on the model of gun you have and if its 3 in or a 3.5 comp model. i have been patiently waiting for the newer version of the 1301 to come out before purchasing one which is why i got the A300 before hand, i was really hoping they would open up and mill out the loading port like they did with the A300 UP but they would be changing how the receivers are milled and i dont know if Beretta is willing to do that just yet it, i think it might mess with how they stamp the S/N on but I'm hoping they do change them eventually, however I'm also hopeful they dont decide to make the change in the near future because i really want to get one soon, like now... it would suck if they came out with another generation later this year with an enhanced loading port after pulling the trigger and getting the MOD2. I dont know if I want to go with a Langdon tactical LTT model or a factory mod 2 because they are both right around the same price... Langdon gets the 1301s from the factory without the furniture on the receiver which allows for them to reduce the cost and offer their model with a polished trigger upgrade, the magpul SGA stock and Zhukov handguard along with the GGG adapters that goes along with the two furniture pieces for basically the same price as the factory model. then i can just get a mesa tactical pistol grip stock online and have the ability to swap stocks back and forth on the 1301 if i want to,( i know the A300 is a different stock/recoil system) but on the other hand the new factory handguard is pretty damn nice and I'm already used to how it feels on the UP. I even have a matchsaverz set up on the A300 so it would be nice to be able to transfer muscle memory and hand positioning with light switchpads and emergency chamber loading between the A300 and 1301 while not having small differences between how they are operated, decisions decisions. its also possible to get the folding stock online and put it on older generation 1301s. Langdon tactical offers chisels standard fixed model stock with the integrated RMR mount but hasn't added an option for the folding versions yet... its cool that Beretta is going to offer a model from the factory with the ability to fold though.
1301 is a great shotgun, I have the 2nd generation right before this one, Why didn't Beretta go with the A300 Ultimate Patrol loading shell opening? I'm sure there is a reason because that is what everyone thought the next generation would have. I guess that is why they call it Mod 2 because they are mods that you can also do on your 2nd Generation 1301. Excellent review and worth the investment. The 1301 is a very light tactical shotgun and has a very fast trigger you can't outshoot.
I have a theory. Open port is awesome for fast load on practical shooting. I use a practical shooting m2 occasionally for hunting. The deeper port in the woods make this part take a lot of dirt and vegetation , Aldo the lever is nearly outside the port and sometimes is like a claw on the trees and grass and get blocked
Probably the cleanest looking 1301 I've ever seen and love the lifter, but 1800 is a serious chunk of change. I don't see how you can justify that price with the A300 coming in under a grand.
Bit out of box guess but somehow i had idea how a300 ultima patrols are pretty much made in stateside unlike 1301 series which are then imported from italy. Mechanical difference, price for importating and labor can explain that much of price.

These keep getting better. I hope that handguard becomes available for the older 1301's. I also can't wait to see more aftermarket folding stocks for this model. I always thought the forward recoil spring of the 1301 was just begging for a folder.
I know you can just add a QD mount to the MLok slot but that included front QD mount is not my favorite. I ended up swapping mine out for an aftermarket metal part, as well as a metal mag tube cap. The mount has a tendency to move unless you wrap something around the barrel and mag tube like neoprene or inner tube material.
Recently been to your Louisville's shop as well as Bardstown shop. Both are great. Couldn't purchase any weapons because I am a tourist. Wanted to purchase some pneumatic rifle or pistol but couldn't find any good range. Little disappointed with the behavior of the person in the range at Bardstown.
Everyone saying they can’t justify this price but don’t act like we don’t know that beretta is a pricy company they make some higher end products for a more experienced shooter, therefore looking for things like faster cycling competition shooters find that attractive and besides ITS SEXY beretta makes some beautiful firearms idc what anyone says and this shotgun has a pretty much all of the features I’d like in a shotgun
Beretta missed the mark doing the improved beveled loading port of the A300 Patrol. I’ve already put in the pro style lifter and 1301 tactical owners have been doing this upgrade. TFB says the mod 2 has the ability to add an extension to the 7rd mag tube. Can you confirm this? Another improvement to the mod 2 is the internally threaded barrel to accept chokes which I bought a threaded barrel from Beretta to replace the non threaded barrel of the leo 1301 I have. The straight trigger, improved hand guard can be purchased from online from Beretta.
I need one. Like the one with the grip. For home defense. I’ve been using my go to AR15 and to scare bad guys away I like the sound of my AR10 308 charging handle. It sounds loud and it make a statement.
The shotgun is incredible but the Mesa stock sucks. The rubber pistol grip is only held on by friction. Mine came off in my hand when I was walking with it carrying it muzzle down one handed. Also there is no stud fit where the stock meets the receiver so it tends to twist a little side to side with use. Also had my picatinny rail loosen on me. These are pretty easy fixes but for the price shouldn’t be an issue.
Agree with the mesa stock sucking. I ordered one aftermarket and liked the looks. Then, I used it and experienced the same issues you stated. Bought the aridus adapter and Mossberg Magpul stock and haven't looked back. Awesome shotgun now. I should also mention the cheek weld didn't feel right after installing that mesa stock.
I ended up with an Airidus adapter magpul Remington stock on mine also. I Liked the height of the Adjustable cheek riser on the Mesa tactical stock. I have an Eotech EXPS2 On my 1301 and the magpul highest cheek riser is still a little bit low.
Yes you can. Before loading, place one in the chamber and press slide forward for the round to chamber and the lifter below drops down so that you can load 7 more.
When you are done loading one round or seven, how does the loading gate "close" or drop down from the loading position? I did not see a button press or anything??

@@heydeereman1040 Benellis are not finicky at all unless they are modified incompetently (same with anything). The M4 is a tank eats everything. The main downside is the weight.
@@coffeeandlifting I can't verify anything. Never shot the M4. Doing research shows a lot of people saying that theirs had some trouble cycling with birdshot or low recoil shells
Thanks for the nice shotgun video! Using ten yards at an indoor range for demonstration seems reasonable. It might be better to start with three head shots with slugs to verify point of impact. Then shoot buckshot, transitioning between two targets to demonstrate pattern and split times. Lastly, shoot bird shot to demonstrate a ten yard pattern compared to a five yard pattern. The penetration of birdshot can be a threat stop up to five yards.
It’s nice… however the faster cycling is a pointless selling point because your shooting a 12 gauge so eating the recoil and staying on target is the issue. The price is so close to an M4 that you may as well get the new Benelli M4 Gen 2 with the new rail system. Also the 1301 has more plastic parts where as the M4 way more robust with metal parts. If you’re going to pay $1,800 for a 1301 you may as well get the M4 at that point.
Sure. If you want an older, slower, heavier, shotgun with worse controls. The only pro i can think of for the m4 is softer recoil and that's simply due to weight.
