Not only do they shadowdrop an Orcane trailer into Rivals 2, but they also just confirm the "Orcane is the Joy god theory" while also teasing Slade's inclusion in the roster at the SAME TIME.

@@CholaRoja Slade is probably the one narrating since he lived on the Polekai Islands. Since he's going to Merchant Port by the end of Dungeons, we're also definitely going to see him in Rivals 2.

"Avast", mention of the Polekai Islands where he's from, and in Dungeons he mentions stuff about trying to lead Orcane back to the Polekai Islands. Granted this is still conjecture, but it seems fitting for him to be the one telling Orcane's story

@@Chr1sT0fu I could absolutely hear Slade sounding like that. The voice doesn't have the stereotypical pirate gravel, but there's no reason it has to. The vernacular and accent are still on point.
Orcane’s design and animations in this game look *awesome,* this is proof that you should never ever judge something based on leaks for things that weren’t ready to be shown yet

Man, I remember back when this all started out as a Smash Bros fan game with this character being inspired directly from the Vaporeon from that game. It feels good to see how far this series has gone after all these years. Looking forward to the final release!

@@At-px6rm I doubt it as orcane was very specifically emphasized to have gone far from the rest, that's why he ended as a fighter, but who knows, it'd be cool to see the others, if not at least as alts for orcane
@@At-px6rm nah it's just worldbuilding, they were already an established concept in Dungeons of Aether, which were created to flesh out Orcane's lore because he had literally nothing to his name before DoA.
I could see Orcane's siblings being a hit skin pack for him!

Edit: As simple as Orcane's kit is the new additions fit so well. I have yet to play Rivals 2 and have heard mixed reviews but I truly hope RoA2 catches the magic like 1 did. All the success Aether Studio.

I'm completely and utterly shocked by this reveal
I was interested in the game before, but now that my main is finally here, I'm for sure looking to get it now.
Ok the Special getup and pummels look so sick. Love that the dev team appears to be getting so creative with them. I guess since the pummel is a mindgame your opponent can release out of if they guess which you'll pick, they can be pushed pretty hard.
They really just gave a dolphin dog paws and created one of the best character designs in the franchise.
Finally my main, no one is more excited than me.

This is the first bit of gameplay I’ve seen for this game and I can already tell the workshop content is gonna be insane
UNREAL!! these animations are the best I've ever seen in a fighting game! Yes, even better than SF and MK. I don't want 20 different colors flashing all over the screen or ultra detailed armor resolution. I want SMOOTH movement, UNIQUE character art styles, and DYNAMIC visual feedback. And Rivals 2 nails that!

HE IS SO FULL OF JOY AND WHIMSY. He is everything to me. He reminds me of my dog. I love Orcane so much and the team did an amazing job translating him into 3D.

I remember playing Rivals 1 a long time ago, and the one thing I didn’t like was that my son and I couldn't team up to play against bots. We could either face off against each other or play solo campaigns, but there was no option for co-op against bots. I hope they include that feature in the next version.

I didn't even know they were making a Rivals 2. I love that fluency, the lively animations and especially the amount of impact and flash in every attack. That to me is the part where most Multiversus, Nick All Stars and Brawlhalla fell short

I was just playing as this little guy today, & then he gets revealed for the new game. And we have another Water member of the Aether group revealed.
Also, I'm still very greatful for grabbing opponents, & especially ledges in this game.
Orcane with ledge grab improves the character a lot, it was very had to recover before.
