Hey there! Thank you guys so much for watching! I actually created a tiktok on how to reformat footage so editing softwares can read it! Hope it helps 🥰 vm.tiktok.com/TTPdfRuow4/
the tiktok link is not working. could you possibly make a video on how to reformat?
link is wrong! ❤
😍 🔥
You know you're getting old when the decade you grew up in becomes nostalgic
For real. I’m a late millennial
2006 😢
I was really thinking about this while watching it. I always wondered "when will I see the moment where things from my generation will be dug up and become popular again?" There you go. I got the "old" certificate right now. lol
It's funny because when I was a teenager I was really into 70/80s music (previous generation stuff) and older people would say "Wow you are into my gen stuff? When did this become hip again?". It's weird to be on the other side.
@@pfaprado welcome to the club

I bought mine four months ago with the original box, cradle, and video cables. Excellent journalist - travel media recording! Beautiful focus.
You scored the jackpot!! So rare to find everything intact! Happy for you! :))
how much
Suggest me from where should I buy it!? 😔 I don't have any idea
I have a sony camcorder and i agree that there’s something about the quality that makes memories feel more authentic
I have this buried in my room for years, last time I used it was in high school and we were filming a tragic love story for English class. Seeing 14 year old me try to act like a villain was hilarious, they were good times! I don't think its Y2K though, since we used it near the end of the 2000s, but it does have that look that Gen Z kids go for these days!
Hi! I was hopefully wondering if you are considering selling the camrea if it is in good shape. I have been trying to find one but cannot find any without it being too expensive. Let me know, thanks!
@@gagebannister1656hey, not sure if you're still looking, but goodwillfinds has cameras up for cheap since it's goodwill. I've gotten 2 camcorders through them so far. I'm sure you can find what you're looking for for under $100
Smart choice on not getting the tape camcorder. They are way more expensive and you would have to get a couple of adapters for it to work with a new mac.
Yes! I mean you really can't remake that quality of a tape camcorder, but I don't think I want to figure out the whole process!
You're so funny explaining its function and there is a lot of things I can relate cus I always clueless about those tech terms when I have to tell my friend about some features from some device too lol.
I found out about the amazing result of handycam videos but several 90s handycam that I found on youtube is using like mini tape, have to put it on the big tape converter or something, play it on vhs player, recorded it on pc and convert it to mp4 and that's such a pain. I'm so glad that you showed me this and now I'm so happy that there is 2000s handycam with old video style but stored in digital data. Thank you so much xD
I inherited my family's old jvc everio gzhd3 hard drive camcorder and it records pristine FHD footage with top quality photos, it came with the bag, box, reciept, and all cables and a large battery and spare battery. Great camera!!
I have 2 camcorders, both bought in their heyday by my dad & both were used plenty. I now use them myself, although the older one is somewhat broken. The earliest one is the RCA CC300 from the mid 1980's, which uses a full-size vhs tape. And the later one is the Sony TRV66 from the late 1990's, which uses the smaller vhs-c cartridge. To convert them to computer files, a usb analog-to-digital converter can be used, which can be bought for cheap online. From there, you can also upscale & remaster the footage. There are programs & services that use artificial intelligence to upscale & remaster once you learn how to use them & then they will look as though they were shot from a modern digital camera/smartphone or possibly even better.
I have a dvd model handycam that came out the same year as this, that I got as a kid back in 06. and wow, that footage quality is so nostalgic.
As soon as you said “the sticker is a vibe” I immediately subscribed
thanks for adding the test footage and A/B for sound. really helpful!
thank you! so glad you found it helpful :)
Just got me a JVC camcorder from online last week, but it uses cassettes and I need to transfer the footage via a digital converter as as well. I love the classic look, the more intimate look at memories, and the overall feel of the camera ! I’m with ya here.
Love that for you!! Aww I really wish I had the patience for cassette! You have to share the footage!!
@@connyey I just uploaded my camcorder Vlog on my channel if u wanna check it out !
I got a nice collection of early 2000s handycams the DCR TRV11 model is my favorite.
I used to have this camera from 7th grade to 11th grade, I remember using this to film a lot of horror stuff lol. I upgraded to canon soon after since I started to not like the camera anymore, but honestly looking back just brings back memories. This was last year LMAO
I love the fact that this camera has a 2002 vibe, and that's what I'm after.
Hopefully soon I'll have my camera in hand.
The sticker IS a vibe - thank you
'07 is a very long way from Y2K. Closer to the 2010s imo. I was a junior in high school in 2007, and I filmed with digital point and shoots (and to a lesser extent MiniDV) which still shot horrible 640x480 video until 720p became a thing in 2009. To paint a clearer picture, Y2K era camcorders were things like SONY CCD-TRVxx series that recorded on hi8 and digital8 format camcorders before minidv tape started to take over. The former were characterized as looking like vhs tapes, while the latter looked very digital (although very low in resolution).
Mini-DV was on its way out and HDD camcorders like the one in your video were brand new around this time, but the quality is somewhat similar (this one is a lot clearer in comparison as I remember digital tape having weird digital+interlacing artifacts and really bad color, and general fuzziness). In 2007, DVD camcorders were the best quality, but the landscape changed around 2010 onward when full HD became more available and post 2010s when 4k became a thing.
Thank you so much for clarifying! Really appreciate you sharing this and educating me on this! I honestly categorize it as y2k because there isn’t too much of a coined term for that time period that I can think of that’s also short enough 😅
Stop hating 😂
i love this guy😂so passionate
720p became a thing in 09? I got a sony handycam for christmas 2006 (a 2005 model) and it recorded 720p. You were probably just a broke boi lol ggs
Omg I’m so excited I just purchased a dvd dc201 camcorder I can’t wait till it come love your vid
Lol just getting into vintage cams and this video was awesome
I bought that camera in 2007 to film my summer... Summer of my 18 year old self... Good memories. A lot of time has passed. I still own the camera. Haven't used it since December 2008..
First of all let me say your a legend for making this video! You have earned yourself a subscriber and second I have had my jvc camcorder for a while! And I document my life on it and my rollerblading videos
“This bad boy right hereeee” 😂, thank you for the info!
I'm loving the vibes
omg thank you love! Hope you're doing well and staying safe! :)
😬 yikes cringe

@Melanie , that's why ur cute
The prices went up bc y'all UA-camrs are doing this 😢
this was so helpful!! thank u
Yay thank you soso much! 💗happy holidays!
Thanks for uploading, was on the fence of getting one
yes so happy i could help :-)
That's Beautiful
I need that ;)
These first gen flash storage camcorders are pretty neat it you want the SD video look but not wanting to hassle with MiniDV tapes, although MiniDV still gives you the highest quality regarding codec compression, since DV tape camcorders store the video at very low compression and very high bitrates. The audio is also uncompressed PCM sound, while on the flash memory camcorders it's either MPEG2 (the first gen, like the camera shown here) or H264 and the audio is always lossy compressed. I guess it all just comes down to what you need. If you plan to shoot a whole movie for the looks, you may wanna get an mini DV tape based camcorder and a laptop which has Firewire port and also a 4pin (on both ends) firewire cable. But if you just want something to shoot random stuff and maybe wanna turn it into a whole movie afterwards, then by all means, yes get yourself a model like this one here. :) Especially since you can still get fresh replacement batteries for these Sony Models. The cool thing about most of these older cameras is their image sensors were much smaller and more light sensitive. ESPECIALLY the Sony Models, which were the kings in lowlight conditions. And their optical zooms is something that always beats every phone camera. ;)
Helpful video, thanks
Oooh Im going to get ittt, I would like to maaassively thaank you, you gave me the vibe that I was looking for, for a long time ❤❤❤❤❤
Aww I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you so much for watching!
I recently found me a Sony DCR-TRV18E for a whopping..........(wait for it)........$5 bucks. The battery for it was dead, but that's okay cuz my previous Sony DCR-TRV22E's battery was still good after 20 years. I had like 14 MiniDV tapes I wanted to dig through and digitize. The only problem with the $5 Camcorder was a rubber wheel that holds the tape in place, as it kept falling out, a bit of googling and all I needed to do was to get the wheel secured down better. I guess the previous owner wrote it off as it kept failing to play all the time cuz of a stupidly easy fixable problem.
Anyway, it's a bit nostalgic watching these old videos.
as a 99 kid, this is major throwback. gotta bring the og days back
i have a camcorder that my family had back in 2005 and there’s videos from my cousins who are now in they’re 20’s, as little girls opening presents on christmas.
thank you for this!
You're so welcome! thank you for watching! 💙
This video is so helpful thank you for making this truly
You’re so welcome!
this is so cool! do you know if it has an aux port or anythign to connect a microphone to?
I found this old camcorder in an old drawer, and I love it! However, the zoom and photo buttons /scroll is broken, but it still mostly works loll
as long as it kinda works that all that matters! so stoked for you!
Highly recommend you to use the old 1080P handy camcorders of JVC GZ-HD7 3CCD HDD type and Panasonic HC-X920M 3CMOS type.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH. i was wondering tho, how bright is the resolution when your outside because i bought a regular jvc camcorder and it made outside look SOOO GRAY and i hate it 😩. would u say this cam catches how sunny it is while still looking vintage ?
It making outside look grey *is* vintage, home cameras were low quality back then
hmm I would say the video can look gray at times, but for the most party I don't think it's a huge issue. I have another video where im out in the sun (north shore vlog) so if you wanted to take a look at the footage there hopefully that might help you figure out if the look is what you'd want!
You could always try to edit the colours on your pc! :)
You can get a elgato capture card to transfer your tape to your computer or hard drive easily
when she said the thing that started it all like VHS camcorders were in a thing 🥺 now I feel old old lol
What other things do you need except the camera like cables, and where did you buy them?❤
Quick question, what font did you use for the “I was very much alive in 2007” text? I absolutely love it
do you guys know if their are any y2k camcorders/handycams with a 3.5mm microphone jack? Planning on shooting with one, but I want to use a good external microphone with it
Sick thank you!
youre most welcome!
i like tape better, but the capturing process is a bit muddy nowadays if you want to get a lossless copy of the footage.
sony's SR series of camera are still very good, 720p footage. someday i'll get an one like yours
yes, very true! i love having this it makes me feel nostalgic and idk why but heals my inner child ahha. stoked for you to get one, one day!
@@connyey i use tape for all my videos and it's honestly a huge fucking pain...
so for just quick filming i will try to find a dcr-sr somewhere like goodwill or ebay
Just buy an MRC1
@@elliottzuk3915 i wish
got dcr-sr65 for 60 bucks. very satisfied
This was such a well made video! do you know the name for the cord that connects the charging port to the computer or where i could find one? I've tried looking for it but i just cant lmao
I have another video where I show the chords! I’m not super tech savvy but let me try see if I can ask someone with an expertise to tell me the names of it haha
I MUST ACQUIRE ONE.
Do you mind if I ask which editing program you are using and how you get that cool music track when you put your “2K Vibe” videos together. If it’s your secret to your cool videos I understand.
I’m using Final Cut Pro!! And I get music from thematic!
SanDisk 'SD' cards come with a micro in them. the SD part just being an adapter. at the bottom you just pull out the micro SD
Some do, not all of them
❤❤
Did you have to buy a separate USB to USB-C cord in order to transfer the videos from the dock to the Mac? I also have a 2019 MacBook Pro so I just wanted to clarify that
Yes I did! I have a lot of USB items actually so I didn’t specifically buy it for that purpose but it does require an adapter since USB C isn’t too comon
Hello, what is the docking station for? I love your video by the way, it was really helpful!
thank you so much! I use the DCRA C171
Nice review saw one today £50 nice lady God bless you
Nostalgia 🤕
Hi! I found this camera and really want to use it again. I loved the video esp the clips at the end
yes so hard to find a dock -- i searched great depths through mercari, poshmark, depop and ebay. The model is the dcra-c171! One way to know for sure too is to look at the bottom of your camcorder and looking if the bottom would fit the dock! Wish you the best of luck! Theres this one on ebay i found, but double check everything! www.ebay.com/itm/175232730829?hash=item28ccaf46cd:g:IhwAAOSwDQJiT8QM
thats also one its a replica called vorodo v12!
0:52 her: that is gonna be ur best friend. Me: I can’t find a good camcorder
The footage from old camcoder has some kind of attraction aura.. Maybe because its softer image
There is much diference between this model and sony dcr sr68?
Спасибо за полезное видео! А еще ты очень милая и красивая))
Do u know where I can get one like this with the green night vision on it?
What software did you use for editing? finally got my SR42 today 😄
I am a professional and as a hobby shooting video and I used both a sony dcr Hd camcorder and an alcatel pixi 4 maxi smartphone at the same time this smartphone is not the best in quality and is also old but the quality of the images were better than those obtained with the camera
You’re really pretty 🔥🔥
Stop you’re too kind 🥹
I also managed to have my footage disappear saying
"HDD format error" have you ever ran into that? thanks in advance. love your videos.
Did you solved it ? Cause i have the same problem.😔
I bought mine yesterday for only 30$, and it works. Now I need to film something.
where?😊
Where??
on ebay
i need one with night vision
You should buy a VX1000/VX2000/DVX100A/XL-1/TRV-900/VX-2100
thats crazy. $599 back then is probably like getting a iMac today. $599 today is still expensive :0
how can i import videos from the camera to my computer?? i have the dcr-sr50 i think it has the same specifications as yourss
please recommend me a method how i can convert the videos from without losing much quality, i have a Sony DCR
Hey can you make a video on how to use the port to transfer the videos onto the mac
hi there! i actually have a tiktok on it -- www.tiktok.com/@conn_yey/video/7057247684423453999?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1

is there any possibility that I can convert my Minidv to usb with safeguard mode from my camcorder?
What lightbarebu using for this video?

I have a jvc hdd camera
does it need a memory card or cd or tape ?
How to add a date watermark to the output video or photo file?
hi guys i have a csr sr42 with touch problem, what i do? i buy a original controler?
Do u need.to buy a separate cord or something to connect to mac to transfer? And is it simple.as just connecting to ur computer and grabbing the file on to the desk top? Does it also need special software? Thanks:)
I have a max with a usbc so I need that chord (1), the charging dock which requires an input from an outlet and a chord from the dock to my computer!
No software is needed it’s just like a modern camera when it pops up!
how do i get the footage if i don’t have a computer??
May i ask how did yiu get the footage off for editing ?
I'll buy this camera for my music video😭❤️
Yasss! They have cheaper options too!! I’m just a Sony gal
@@connyey do you have any suggestions for the cheaper options?? :)
Me ♥u long time!
I'mma get one and start recording my school and revealing the horror within like I'm the Outlast protagonist in the asylum.
Where do you buy it??
Does this camcorder need the charging dock to charge, or can you just charge the battery/use a cord? If it does, what is the charging dock called that it needs? I just got the same camera
you can charge it using a cord
How do you edit the footage? I have an old sony handycam which records in MPG and it isn't compatible with final cut pro which is the editing software that I use. I honestly can't be bothered to figure out how to change the footage format. Do you use a different editing platform?
I use Final Cut Pro! I actually have a video I can share! Will get that up soon!
@@connyey oh awesome, looking forward to it!
hey con! you should try to use the vhs vhs camcorders like the big ones just a suggestion :)!

Sadly i can't find the camera anywhere for a cheap price, since it's sold out (i guess)
Does anyone know similar vintage camcorders for a cheap price?

Hi! They are all over eBay. Very cheap as well! :)
You should totally try out super 8 film.
I wish! I don’t know if I could comprehend that 😭
