What a great story! I can share every emotion with you. I have gone this same path as you having my own Portofino made by Giovanni and Alex! For me the Portofino is so special that it really changed my life, for me it is more than a bike! And what a lovely team, Giovanni and Alex, with magic and by professional passion made it for me!
As he tells in his memoir, from 1983 to 1986 Giovanni would train for one month a year on the roads of Florida... And of course, he didn't have disc brakes! If the roads haven't changed since then, I guess rim brakes are still a good choice 😉
There's nothing like an amazing ride quality steel bike. In my youth as a club road racer in the early 90s, our team bikes were steel made of Columbus SLX tubing. Every since then I've tried various bikes made of carbon, titanium, steel and even magnesium. To me nothing compared to steel in terms of the springy ride
We fully agree! Also, in 2017 we launched two limited editions made from Columbus SLX tubing, which was brought back to production by Columbus for the occasion!🇮🇹
@@OfficinaBattaglin do you have a range of weights say Dura Ace DI2 with Zipp 303 Clinchers. What does a portofino R frame weigh size Large? I think your bikes are beautiful

..there was Colnago. Colnago, now, give up (Dubai !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ... Place to Officina Battaglin, the next top Bike. Surely !!! Giovanni & alex be careful, your factory close your house will be to small !!!!! Future belongs to Steel and also aloy . Carbon is a joke (horror !!!!) and Titane to expensive very hard to build with .
Every bike that leaves the shop is a piece af art. Pure dedication, knowledge and passion from Italy! Love this bike! ☺
Thank you so much!🇮🇹

HOLY GRAIL

revelations in Italian
Wow love the Portofino in blue but rim brakes is better for me because I live in Miami FL in flat terrain so don't need disc brakes at all...

Whats the entire weight for a Portofino R Disc fully built today ?
It's custom-made, so the final weight depends on the parts the owner chooses

Beautiful bike! Steel bikes are awesome!
Thanks!🇮🇹
How is the carbon Casanova? It is a beautiful looking bike but I have no experience with the brand so any insight would be appreciated
I think you made the perfect choice, no doubt about it,
Beautiful bike. I personally would have gone for rim brakes . Would be even more beautiful
Thanks 🇮🇹 The best thing about a custom build is that you can choose your favorite braking system!

Che meravaglia, I prefer Rim brake grazie e tanti auguri
Grazie mille!🇮🇹
The rider: 80% of the weight. 80% of the air resistance. The motor is human.
