Haven't used Premiere in a long time. But still use Lightroom Classic and Photoshop a great deal. Hanging on to the full suite for old Premiere Project reuse for a while longer.

Wow!! The UI has changed, but the options are still there. You have to be brave to go through all the prompts, but yes, my plan went from CHF 61 a month to CHF35 a month. Thank you so much. My plan had just renewed, so closing it now would not make sense, but the discount will help a lot.

Nice one Darren. I'm still using my CS6 versions of Photoshop and Audition, no updates for years but thankfully still working, at least I have them on DVDs rather than 3.5" floppy disks :)

Thats the problem - I know people are going to DaVince for their video editing - but I also use PS, iD, Ae and audition a lot - I'd find it a fag to lose those - plus I like the integration. Hey ho.

I never got hooked on Adobe, I always used FCP Studio and Shake with Gimp until Resolve became a viable NLE, then I switched from Shake to Fusion and finally dropped GIMP for Affinity Photo. I could not be happier with Resolve as goes from strength to strength while Adobe Apps go from bloat to bloated.
Was not a decision I took lightly! But after 11 months of not using any Adobe App I thought Id be better off to buy a one month at a time if I really need anything. Thanks for your comments too!
Yeah I’ve been using this same discount strategy for renewing my plan the last four years. The computer system doesn’t wanna see people leave the platform and will always try to retain you by giving you a good deal.
Do you get away with it each year? And if so do you let it switch to the regular amount for a month before you "leave" citing it's too expensive again?

@@Matt-fo4gg you can do it every year. The algorithm for the subscription strategy will do everything I can to make sure that you stay a customer. I’ve never have to revert back to the normal payment. Always at the end before it allows me to completely leave. It offers me the same rate as the prior year.

I’m definitely gonna have to give this a shot. I’d leave Adobe completely but the company I work for only uses Premiere. I could probably get them to switch if Resolve did auto transcription and captions.
Thank you for the video. I just renewed mine at the discount. The new price next month for me was going up from £39.95 to a whopping £56.99. Price increases are not proportionate to value increases. Luckily I was able to lock it in for the next year at £30.34

switching to davinci since 2 weeks, but i guess i'll keep PR for at least a year because of the 10 years of projects i keep, and often need to go back in it for clients... and After effects i'll keep it forever i guess, this is such a great program, and it takes sooooo much time to learn it. fusion must take so much time also, and i dont have that time.
Memories Darren. I remember working with window 3.11 when it came out. Not to mention the horrid sound of my 14.4 kbps modem. 🤣

Oh my gosh this totally worked. They are cutting of creative cloud syncing and then charging me $60 a month which is ridiculous. I only use Photoshop and Adobe pro. And with Adobe I don't even have all the cool features. I didn't have to pay a fee (might be a timing thing) and I was on with tech support chat as I was watching and it was $29.99 which is HALF price. As a mental health speaker and suicide prevention speaker, i'm hardly funding my passion for yachting. So I needed to save some money.

I love Davinci Resolve! I wish Davinci would look at new products that compete with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, I would ditch Adobe in a heartbeat. Unfortunately my job requires industry standards so I'm stuck with lame old workhorses.
Im not saying ditch them...Im hoping you get a deal if you need them!
It’s brave in the broadcast industry to do this. In editing there may, generally, be a need to use specific software architecture to fit into a production process developed by the producing company. Maybe for a pro colourist it’s not as important but for others, like the editor I wouldn’t recommend this.

I had like 12 days left, and the cancel fee was going to be something like £14, but I can get the next 60 days for nothing, it would roll me over to the next years and i currently only pay £10pm but thats £20 saved
does anyone know if this offer comes out when cancelling before 14 days free trial?
I did get a refund when I reduced my plan from the full suite which I originally had at the academic rate but didn't terminate as soon as I should. I changed to the photography plan. It might be that the penalty for termination is less from that.
The termination fee may be illegal in some jurisdictions.
I went to cancel my CC plan - I pay £30.49 currently - the best 'offer i could get on screen when I went to cancel, was 2 months free and £48 odd after. So I clicked 'chat' and had my plan renewed at my current price and 3 months free - I'm happy with that.

Im a colourist, I dont need photoshop! Canva solves all my immediate issues.
Affinity suite is a tool to test, it is a classic buy license, you can buy lic for win, Mac and iPad and you keep for all time, no rental model.
You can get a student subscription, with a monthly invoice, with VAT number... That you you can sign up and pay 300 over the entire year.
If you are a student, maybe.
I’ve done this every year ever since I saw Phillip Bloom suggest it. Probably my own fault it doesn’t go lower than £30 pm now! If you’re lucky you can get it down to £12 but it seems to differ from person to person.

The last few updates of Premiere Pro (as well as other Adobe apps) were so incredibly and infuriatingly buggy that I finally decided to ditch Premiere for good. However, I still need some other Adobe apps so I can't really cancel the subscription. It just astonishing to me how little Adobe care about their products now. But then again, it makes sense because they know that people can't really cancel the subscription anyway.

I've been pissed ever since CS6. We have so many CS6 licenses that just were dead-ended.
What do you use in place of after effects?
I dont really use After Effects, Im a colourist. Fusion works great for me.
That's crazy if you're going to go without photoshop and after effects. But I can understand not using premiere. My cc sub is something like €86 per month and I think that's even exvat. But work pays for it

@@DarrenMostyn I mean the fees before you taught us how to have it discounted. I don't think they should charge any monthly fees to be honest. I'd rather pay a lump sum like it used to be, than paying more than say 40 over pounds a month.
Paying a lump sum and own the software is still better than paying half price monthly subscription.

I still dont have the guts to get out of adobe. I have both resolve studio and adobe subscription running on my PC... Probably after a few gallons of fusion lessons from UA-cam ill quit adobe. There are some features which i so much love in adobe still though.

I wonder what could the problem with the old system where you buy a software and install it in your machine and use it as you see fit. This "cloud" shite never smelled good. I live in a region where the internet goes out sometimes, so what happens if I have the cloud thing? I can't even open the program and work offline. It's just bad. Then again I'm 59 years old, so who cares what I think.
I care what you think and think its very relevant. A big problem with Adobe Cloud is you need to be connected and often on remote gigs that was an issue for me! DaVinci Resolve - login once - thats it done!

I'm also doing some work with Resolve and it's just fantastic. Some weird bits, like not having text wrap, and its system is very odd (can't find my damn projects anywhere), but overall great. And your videos help a lot, so thank you for that too. (cough-cough...where's my cane?)
