This takes me back - When I just finished studying, and started working (in I.T.), I bought a new rig, Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester Core), with a Gigabyte X1900XTX (when it just released), 1GB of Corsair Platinum PC-3200 (DDR400) on a DFI LanParty UT CFX3200 board, with Zalman coolers all round. I OC'd everything a tad, and ended up on the top 10 in my country (South Africa) in terms of scores (can't even remember what we used back then).

God those things just scream 2006
Awesome video and great shout out for Pixel Pipes. He's a treasure for this scene.
Oblivion still looks great
I liked the 7900GS especially because it could be overclocked a lot.
I picked up a 7950 GT with C2Duo. This ran great until Crysis. 😢
You're pretty much right here, Doom 3 indead does favor Nvidia. I remember back in the day that a 6600 GT was similar to X800 Pro on Doom 3.
I remember buying a 6600gt so that I could play Oblivion when it first came out
Nice work 🤠
Thank you! Cheers!
