For me it depends on whether or not I 'understand' the foot motions I need to get right. If I'm still confused about how a trick works, it helps to do them standing still. Thankfully, just about every trick is well explained with video these days.
Today I landed my first kickflip ever. Just wanna say thank you, not only for the good tips you give us, but also for the awesome encouragement. If I can do it, everyone is able to :) greets from germany
Lance it makes me so happy to see you progress. I swear to you if you never give up and never say you can't do it you WILL progress more than you think! Keep up the progression.
i love when Lance is in front of the camera skating, it reminds me of when i first learned, but something to pick up is when he started waiting for the board to rotate, it started half flicking, not fully sliding his foot through causing the board to rocket a little, BUT KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !
Thank you for uploading this video ! It inspired me to go outside and practice my hardest at learning the kickflip, they taught me to kick straight instead of up and outward like every other video 😎😱
He also needs to pop his tail more. the flick of his foot is not the greatest, but I'm pretty sure his rocket flips are primarily due to him not really popping and letting the board just roll over.
Please do more lances road to sponsorship I loved that series and it really helped me and made me more confident but love what you guys do, keep up the good work
Amazing progression! landing levelled kickflips after 10 minutes! Lance pointed out an important thing: waiting for the board. As beginners we are not at all comfortable staying in the air away from the board, when you must wait like 1 full second to accomplish tricks, but as beginners we stay like 0.3 seconds only. I realised this even with simple shuvits: hurrying to try to land always end up in bad or failed shuvits. So this must apply to all tricks. Gotta get the fear factor out and push oneself to stay in the air for some hangtime and just trust the board, I guess..
hey Aaron, love your new pro model. I litterly just got it today and I've already fallen in love with it. I have already got some of my friends to by revive boards. Thank you for being alive
Good to see skate support, is why I started following Brialle. It's all in how you visualize it. Looks like Lance could work on visualization of LIFTING his flip foot, imagining catching the board up at knee height with the flip instead if falling onto it. Good #progress!
I seem to land more kickflips when i put my front foot further back which gives me better pop, but I think they become rocket as well. I believe I should practice and get used to having my front foot further towards the nose, right behind the bolts, like Aaron and Lance.
Anyone watching this to get more consistent kickflips: I've had kickflips for a long time now but really getting them 100% of the time, there are a few things I learned: 1) Foot position. Find the foot position that works for you, both front and back matter. And use that EVERY time. It is minor but it really makes you more consistent. Lance changes his foot position ever so slightly as time goes on. 2) Rear foot. I like to keep my rear foot closer the the inside (closer to my body), it makes the rotation less effort on the front foot. 3) When you pop, look at how Lance doesn't pull his back foot up. You want that back foot up and ready to catch. Every single pro, you'll notice on kickflips how they have this way of position their feet. Sure they can land it with slight variation, but once you have that magic position, it is way more consistent and easy to just do it that way every time. Any change in stance means the rotation speed and timing changes. Obviously this is if you already have kick flip but want them more consistent. I just noticed it with Lance and wish someone had told me these.
Hi! Im Spanish and your vids are so cool and good. In Spain you can only find shitty 144p how to whatever flip videos. I learned ollie and kickflip thanks to you. Keep the good work mate!
Is it maybe timing? Maybe because he is going too early and before the tail touches the ground he is already flicking. I think he needs to flick it a little later. Idk
Hey Arron I'm wondering where to put my foot on my kick flips I'm dad tells me to put my toe on the edge but it hard to balance. And I'm wondering I can flip it sometimes good but my feet can't land on it. They land apart. Thx by the way I love your videos keep it up. Riley Larson
Lance's single greatest problem with every trick is his front foot placement. His foot is nearly on the front bolts and you can't even pop an ollie that way. Move your foot back about three more inches and you will re-gain the pop you so desperately need. This is the best advice on this thread and I am so surprised Aaron has not addressed this yet. Come on man!
The thing i notice is that Lance is looking straight down while Aarons looking more forward. its weird but my kickflips used to have the same problem but looking forward towards the nose helped me in leveling them out
MY NIGGA LANCE IS THE TRUTH !!! But seriously lance, I dont even think you truly realizes how much of a HERO you are to this channel yo. you're the hope to us to us guys who had a late start to this sk8 life, but still outchere struggling so MUCH RESPECT. (that being said being I'd appreciate it if anyone from Braille or in this comment section to look at the kflip vid on my page and leave some tips and feedback, cuz I sure need help too)
I was trying to figure out whether or not those were Aaron's Busenitz that Lance was wearing, but I realized they were Sucius ADV. I love Lance even more for them.
Lance. Watch Aaron’s slow motion kickflip video over and over. Notice his knee pivots inward and then shoots outward when he pops. I notice you squat straight down most of the time. Having that knee be a pivot point allows the flick to feel more natural. Like one fluid motion. Sometimes your front foot is placed a little too far up on the board. Remember one fluid motion. Squat. pivot the knee inward. pop! Drag, bend at the ankle and follow through off the corner of the nose. I would also recommend watch Lizard Kings slow motion kickflip from berrics. Watch your kick flips on video during your sessions and adjust take notes and they will get more consistent. When you squat down, don’t hesitant or delay it throws your balance off with loose trucks especially. One fluid motion and FOLLOW THROUGH
I noticed that some of the best looking levelled out and almost most even krooked kick flips were when his tail actually hit the ground because a lot of times it didnt
hey Lance one thing I think would help you when you try to learn new tricks or practice and skating all around is if you have your hands open and not fisted up and to what it looks like your arms were really tense before you popped the board. When I skate I just relax myself and use my arms alot for balance and I think having my hands makes it a bit harder when I swing my arms
hello Aaron i have Been trying to do a kickflip for a White now but i cant flick my foot to the right only to the left and when i try to flick it to the left it wont flip
the last one was really good lance. but the problem by "just flipping the board" is that you will not be able to catch the board in the air and just wait for the board is on the ground what almost goes wrong all the time by landing it primo. 3 times. keep it up cause the last one was epic.
hey there is no skateshop in my area and my mom wont order off line and i have broke 2 walmart boards i can do ollies on them but when i do varials and kikflips and stuff they break can u help me plz
you don't have to have a really hard flick, once you pop it and the board is in the air just giving them a little flick could make the board rotate really fast, that's what I learned for kickflips but if you're not even pop-ing it hard like lance then you're going to have to make your front foot do all the work and rotate it and lift it at the same time, that's why he thinks you need a harder flick
in the past 12 years ALWAYS found learning tricks moving easier
same

Too Many Chromosomes me too

this was motivating in a way
+LayndR Lol if Lance could do it, we all could do it.
that's messed up.... in a way.
Today I landed my first kickflip ever. Just wanna say thank you, not only for the good tips you give us, but also for the awesome encouragement.

Some people might think all the lance kickflip videos are a bit tedious, but they must film a video of him learning them moving!
Agreed
Kickflip video while eating hotdogs
+DavidParody good to know. :)
Lol huge fan
I love your vids :)
+DavidParody you skate? :D
lance learns kick flips while rolling should be next
In reality he should start out moving. Standing still imo makes it a lot harder.

_ Justinlbdr _ i agree but its too late now
+_ Justinlbdr _ How does learning a trick while standing harder, than learning a trick while moving?
+the “theunquestionable” questionable momentum is in your favour
not gonna lie, went straight to my board to try this and most of them came out leveled, thanks aaron!

Wow Lance is progressing so much!i wish I could have Aaron as teacher
Thank you for uploading this video ! It inspired me to go outside and practice my hardest at learning the kickflip, they taught me to kick straight instead of up and outward like every other video 😎😱
lance has suspension trucks
Lance, you've come so far!!! Super impressed! Those last kickflips looked completely buttery.

was not expecting to see the loot lord here
bruh AQUA SKATES
@@masterbomb7665 no way aqua skates tbf he does look like a skater guy kinda
i think he is missing the pop when the tail hits the gound. that means its not the front thats to high but hes back is to low :) keep up the good work

Good job on the Kickflip progression Lance. This is motivation for me to stomp some Switch and Nollie flips when I skate later today.
Damn, Lance, you are progressing very well, lookin' good! I don't really skate anymore, just longboard, but you make me wanna get back on the board!
I love lance! He has an amazing spirit. no matter how many times he doesn't land a trick ,he doesn't give up
I'm impressed by the progress Lance
make a video on how to catch a kickflip down stairs? !?!
Commit :)
Just flick faster! No need for that video xD
+hipsterskaterneil just focus on shoving your front foot on there (not much can go wrong at all on some of the smaller stair) :)
Jamie Pullen we only have a tre stair haha
Practice it on just drops then take it to stairs
Respect to you Lance ! Keep going !

Congrats on 700k!!!
I see Lance is still on the suspension trucks. How are those working out?

Damn lance ur getting so much better! I bet you'll have tre flips down by the end of this year!
wow i give him props he rolled his ankle so many times an was still comiting to the trick 👍👍👍
hello Aaron i have Been trying to do a kickflip for a White now but i cant flick my foot to the right only to the left and when i try to flick it to the left it wont flip
is it easier to land your first kickflip "rocket"? I'm really close but my front foot misses when I try to pull it back.
the last one was really good lance. but the problem by "just flipping the board" is that you will not be able to catch the board in the air and just wait for the board is on the ground what almost goes wrong all the time by landing it primo. 3 times. keep it up cause the last one was epic.
Would it help him to use regular trucks? I haven't used those suspension trucks, but I know Majer Crew had issues when trying theirs
Have lance watch the Mike mo kick flip trick tip
you showed me all my tricks thank u

Lance is officially shitting on me
and how does that make you feel?
+Graysin McNabb XD
xD
+Avve N DX
good to see lance progress, but he should try having his front foot a little more angled for the kickflip, looks harder with the way he has it.
Make a setup video of ur new pro model deck Aron plzzzz
Such a good song do someone know its name??
Oh man. Rip my headphones. Right channel mix.
i need to land kcik flips i jsut keep practicing! might just need time
