If you are frugal and like living a very simple life you can do $1000 in some areas in the Kingdom but for most you should plan at least $2000 a month min and if you spend less then great. If you want luxury the sky is the limit on what you can spend in Bangkok.

I remember the last time I travelled in Thailand in 2018 I averaged about $9 a day in expenditure on accommodation, food and transportation, so under $300 a month, so I was able to enjoy the country with 1/5 of your level of consumption. It's quite interesting how different people require differing levels of consumption to be content.

for foreigners everything looks cheap but in Thai person pov it's not cheap and not everyone can afford that. Our monthly wage start from 15,000THB/month(about 430usd) lots of people get about 15000-20000thb per monthIt's impossible to afford what he spend 😅
That's a massive monthly expenditure in Thailand. I spent $270 per month when I was traveling around Thailand visiting temples, beaches, staying in guesthouses every night etc. About $1,700 of that $2,000 would be funding addictions, hedonistic pleasures, excesses and luxuries.

You can do a 60 day tourist vis but a non immigrant visa you'll have to apply for a see if yiu qualify. Have enough money in your bank account, be there for work, that kind of thing. You can always check on the Thai embassy website to apply and see if you qualify.
