I think this would be difficult to cut. I am 68. I remember the original shag in the early 70's. I don't remember the stylist taking this long. Have techniques changed?
This isn't a shag at all. It's long hair with layers.

Oh my goodness this is what I want...when I go into a salon they want to cut off my hair... it's silver white and charcoal to my waist...it's so frustrating 😫

I had hair below my waist. Same color very thick. I went to a hair dresser asked for long layers to cut long part to my waist ( my hair was below my butt) I was going to have it permed into a gypsy. Well the cut in the back up to my shoulders. There was 26 inches on the floor. Beware if you have long thick hair beauticians do not want to spend the time to do it right!

U should do research to find a stylist that is trained.
My hair comes out like crap with razor cuts. It just frays my ends

I have very long hair. I will tell you what I DONT want. The v-back. I had that in the 80's and it took 15 or 20 years to grow out!!! So now having that haircut again after all that time, I have them section off the back a little behind the ears and the back is essentially off limits. They layer 2 inches of the bottom of the back ONLY. The layers are only in the front.
