As a Mexican working in USA at lowe's store, I respect all people, but when i listen to this great song I feel like to hug everybody thank you Mr. Taylor
Yep! I grew up listening to James Taylor and Carly Simon all my life! I love them both they are excellent artists! And by the way! I live in Mexico, Mexico Missouri! In the USA!❤❤❤
Definitely one of my favorite Taylor jams, it’s a banger man. Even in the dead of a cold dreary winter, this time makes it summer for a few minutes for me.
I love James Taylor's music... Saw this lovely man and his band years back in concert in Sydney. They are simply fantastico! I met up with the best of friends and we were running a little late and decided to take a short cut to the theatre. Oops... we ended walking to a high barbed wire fence... as I said we were running late.. So, we did the most logical thing and jumped (scrambled with difficulty) over the fence. I tore my dress.. Oh well... However we made it in time for the start of the concert- J T is brilliant live. 🤍 And then again, a concert with Carole King years later and nothings changed... Simply Fantastic! I hope James T makes it to Australia again for a concert.
My grandmother was a college professor who in the summer would spend her vacation in Mexico. This was in the 1940's. She loved the country and especially the Mexican people. Guess what I love Mexico too.😊❤️😎 Thank you, James!
JT never disappoints. This is a great ersion of Mexico! His singing is so soulful and his band is always killing. Thanks fo posting James Taylor. It was also a great album when it came out. What a Writer!
Very seldom does any rendition of the song surpass the original studio recording. Sure I can appreciate alternate versions but the groove that was worn in my brain by hearing a song hundreds perhaps thousands of times is permanent. I don't know if everybody is this way or not, but for me alternate versions just don't click right. This is a great version however and I'm sure if I was in the audience I would be swallowed up in the moment. There's just something about live music even if it's not the exact studio version. It's a Gestalt experience, the whole scene with other people and the live musicians is one of the greatest Pleasures in life. I don't do it much anymore at 76, but I used to love to go to bars that featured live music and "dance the night away".
@@Smedley1947 At 74, I feel the same way. Here's an example. I think they sometimes change the songs just to extend them. ua-cam.com/video/Ypp-WWcRVtk/v-deo.html
I didn’t really care for the horns but otherwise it sounds good. The live version James did in 1997 (Beacon Theater) is actually superior to the original though IMHO.

#LuisConte World Percussion So Good you just have to enjoy the Groove. A Real Pro. Everyone on Stage with James is. Something about the mix on this one particularly sparkles.
I bought the album on vinyl long ago because I liked this song. I wouldn't have liked it as much if this was how it was recorded. Don't change what was a big hit.
I think this is a great arrangement of the song, which is what you hear when you go to see him in concert. The version you hear on the album isn't set in stone. Obviously, it's the same song, but it gets changed as they play it over time and take it out on the road. I love the album, but if I had to choose, I'd pick this arrangement any day--the Latin rhythm, the energy, the intro plus the extended ending with the harmony of the backup singers. I think it's phenomenal.
@@PerthTowne I hear that argument a lot when I make the same complaint about other performances. If you're familiar with this song, you'll see what I mean. ua-cam.com/video/fRfSgxYD1g8/v-deo.html

Superb bass tone and lines. Why do videographers and editors almost always have shots of everyone in the band except the bassist?
I am almost certain it is Jimmy Johnson what small glance I saw. Trying to see who the drummer is. Don't think it is Gadd.
Why? ‘Cuz we’re playing bass. 😂 Pretty sure Russ Kunkel is at the kit for this one.
And if it’s not Jimmy Johnson on bass, it someone else playing a 5-string Alembic and wearing a solid ponytail.
