- James Taylor is no stranger to the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
As of 2023, James has performed at Blossom more than any other featured performer: 26 times in the past five decades.
In 1979, James was celebrating the release of his most recent studio album, “Flag”, with an extensive U.S. concert tour that included the Blossom Music Festival. The concert was taped for release by Warner Bros, produced by Peter Asher and Stanley Dorman. This was James’ first ever commercial video release.

Back in the day when music produced a warm feeling of hope and love. JT knocked this song out of the park. What a voice and talent. But the song, the song itself, is so hopeful, so well worded with a meaning we all can relate to, they just do not make them like this anymore, but we still have this video to go to to feel the sense of freedom this song delivers.
With the amazing rhythm section of Russ Kunkel on drums and Lee Sklar on bass. It doesn't get any better than that🎶
Not to mention Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar and Cornelius Bumpus on keyboards. Some major talent that James chose to surround himself with!

I remember seeing him debut this song on the Today show in 1979 w/ Jane Polly or Barbara Walter's. Half way through the song he sang the same verse twice on live TV.,(Blooper) He caught his mistake and stayed with it. The whole world caught it. Later in the interview he admitted his mistake and said that he smoked a joint before coming on to perform the song because he was nervous. I will never forget that.
This man could sing The Alphabet Song and make it sound good!
I reckon he could do the same with the wheels on the bus Childs song, in fact it could be great fun😂
