I live in a large Canadian city, just off the downtown core, and street folk struck down by drugs are part and parcel of my neighborhood. As such, I am very aware of the effects of drugs on my street neighbors and, yes, have concluded that folks impacted by drugs are regarded by authorities as throwaway people, an attitude which this heartbroken mother seems to have encountered firsthand. I wish this woman and her friends and family only the best.
I’m so sorry for your loss from one parent to another. You’re right, the pain of losing a child is like no other pain I have ever experienced. My ex-husband died 12 years ago and my Dad died 3 months before my son. There’s just no comparison. I am battling the same problem. My son died 6 weeks ago and I also need a court order to unlock my son’s phone. I have the court order but am afraid everything will be erased which is what I don’t want. It’s so hard navigating the unanswered questions that are left behind. I wish I knew what to do. I want the only pictures and videos left of my son that are on his phone. It’s all I have left.

I am sorry for your loss. My nephew committed suicide 2 years ago. My brother found him. They still to this day can't get access to his phone. They have produced every document they had proving that he is deceased. Parents need to be able to access their phones!!!
I'm not a tech person at all, but do you know if any of his pics or posts were saved on the Cloud? For example, anytime I take a photo or send a message (from my iPhone), I can access that on my laptop because of Cloud technology. Rest Easy Logan 😔💔

I watched an interview recently and the dealers say they can mitigate the risk for their clients by measuring the fentanyl carefully yet so many are dying from fentanyl. It’s a powerful opioid that is so addicting, those using will keep coming back for more. To dealers it’s a lucrative business. It doesn’t make sense to me but I’m guessing many also don’t die from fentanyl.

So weird when a situation like a murderer on trial and they can do a computer extraction of cell phone data to build their case but when something like this happens, no one is sure how to retrieve info from a locked cell phone

The saddest thing is once they see an overdose, the person becomes a statistic.I have lost my daughter in-law 2 years ago to what is called "dogfood " It's heroin and fentanyl mixed. They knew who sold it to her and yet in the end, they did absolutely nothing. Had it been a major dealer that they could receive notoriety from, they would have moved on it. I know these people made a choice to get drugs, but I am sure they didn't want to die. My daughter in-law survived breast cancer, major sepsis and a heart attack all in the months leading up to this. It was on a Tuesday and she had just recovered from a heart attack, and she was signed up for pain management that Thursday, and she said they were going to help her get clean. She never made it...
So sad that another young man gone way too soon. Praying for our children that leave those drugs and different pills alone. People are so evil, they put anything in their medicine to make someone else get high. People knows that Fentanyl is VERY deadly and NO ONE should ever take this drug. Actually some don't lace the original pill...they make a fake pill that looks like the real one...and you're correct it's a lot of lacing out here.
