The whole game/show is centered around building relationships with others; you cannot tell me that this show wasn't going to build up to this point. Those who are complaining that this ending was "too cheesy" are missing the point, to be honest.
H3atmiser it's not that the ending is cheesy, it's just that it differs too greatly from previous persona games in that it is far less dark, a change not everyone is comfortable with. I have no problem with Persona 4, I just wish they had continued the story from Persona 3 instead. I still think the ending was great, and the part where ur party members push u out of the way from the final boss's attacks were a nice touch.

Persona specifically is about building up relationships over the course of the year, and fusing new Personas to respond to the challenges presented. In both of these aspects, player choice is a major part of the appeal, and that's not possible in an anime. But even beyond that, it's not possible to significantly build up an entire year's worth of bonding in a 2-cour anime series.

I remember that I was literally standing upright on my chair and cheering for Yu Narukami like his friends. I was like crying in happiness during that Ameno Sagiri fight. That fight sequence has got to be like one of the best fight sequence I had ever seen. I take my hat off in this anime, this has got to be one of the best anime series I had ever seen. For all the crap the Persona 4 Animation gets, and it's somewhat deserved. This song is the BEST thing to come out of the Persona 4 Animation, that and the Song that plays when Dojima & Nanako rekindle their relationship.
The version that gets the crap that you are talking about is Persona 4 Golden animation. The regular version of Persona 4 anime is amazing and is well received from fans.
The one thing I hope Atlus does if they ever make a Persona 4 Reloaded like they’re doing with Persona 3 Reload, is I hope they add a damage check for Ameno-Sagiri so they can do their own version of this scene with this song before destroying it
As much as Persona 4 gets shizzed on for being "too cheerful", they greatly utilised the main themes of the Persona series, bonds and connections. And for that reason is what makes Persona 4 outshine the others in my perspective. Imo P4 is the top in the series, despite being constantly undervalued by fans for not being as immensely dark as the other instalments.
I have this fantasy where this song will be played during the final battle in the Avengers Infinity War Final Battle with Thanos, and like...we see the likes of The Avengers all about to be killed, but it's stopped when the other villains come to help out so then The Avengers, and the Non-Thanos villains gather all there spiritual strength, and destroy the Gauntlet. Also, the fantasy of the mass media UA-cam search for this song, and it breaks UA-cam.
The only game where the power of friendship is justified, both in a narrative and game-play standpoint. You know, maybe Persona 4 wasn't so bad after all...

As much as Persona 4 gets shizzed on for being "too cheerful", they greatly utilised the main themes of the Persona series, bonds and connections. And for that reason is what makes Persona 4 outshine the others in my perspective. Imo P4 is the top in the series, despite being constantly undervalued by fans for not being as immensely dark as the other instalments.

I have this fantasy where this song will be played during the final battle in the Avengers Infinity War Final Battle with Thanos, and like...we see the likes of The Avengers all about to be killed, but it's stopped when the other villains come to help out so then The Avengers, and the Non-Thanos villains gather all there spiritual strength, and destroy the Gauntlet. Also, the fantasy of the mass media UA-cam search for this song, and it breaks UA-cam.
This is one of the most obscure things i have ever had to imagine, but i like it.
