*Re-upload of a previous video* The original version of this video received a copyright strike, so please enjoy this updated version that won't give royalties to one of the Avengers composers! I trimmed some stuff out, changed some things around, tightened up the audio and generally changed enough so I don't feel *too* bad about uploading an old video again. I definitely want to do another souls ranking as these opinions are 6 months old now, and I've changed my mind a lot since then. Maybe I'll do the next ranking by difficulty, but not until I've replayed them all….so that'll probably be a while 😉 A brand new video on Hogwarts Legacy will be with you next week at the same time. Until then, have a good one!
1.Dark Souls 2 2.Elden Ring 3.Sekiro 4.Bloodborne 5.Dark Souls 3 6.Dark Souls 1 7.Demon Souls Thats my order. That being said, Dark Souls 2 was my first Souls of course. The order one plays the games naturally influences every ranking.
I also think of you play DS1 first it sets you up to play DS2 poorly and makes people feel it's unfair when the game is just asking you to play differently. DS2 was my favorite for a long long time, only unseated by Elden Ring but I still think it's such an amazing game.
Pretty good list. I have a hard time ranking the original Dark Souls. Personally, the level design alone makes it impeccable, but unfortunately the age and the combat leave a bit to be desired.
I really want to play these games one day! I did enjoy Elden Ring for the little bit of it I did play, but it’s so hard for me to do so because the older I get the worse my reflexes are!!! lol! Great video as always buddy!!!
as a die hard fromsoft fan i am firmly of the belief they are all worthwhile unique experiences you could rank them in absolutely any order and i wouldnt be able to disagree with you with a degree of dishonesty im just here to hear another unique take on the entries tbh
@@DonovanGG__ why? theyre both fantastic games. i dont subscribe to the dark souls 2 bad crowd, the latter half of dark souls 1 is far worse than the lows of DS2 each of the games have highs and lows i would understand and accept any ranking tbh
@@sneaky5141 nah Dark Souls 2 and Demons Souls dont reach the heights of any of the other games though. I never said Ds2 was bad, its great. All of these games are great.
Awesome - thanks. I also started at Elden Ring. I tried DS1 many years ago for 2 mins and gave up. In terms of accessibility and ease of play, what would be next after Elden Ring? Old man with little flexibility in old limbs. Like exploring and choosing my own style of play
Probably dark souls 3. It's the closest one mechanically, tho nothing else has the same freedom and play style options of elden ring. Don't forget the erdtree dlc next month 😉
ds3 is probably the most accessible, it’s very linear and the levels aren’t hard, it’s mostly the bosses, which are so good in quality that it more than makes up for some of the difficulty (which is mostly on end game bosses, so not that much of a worry). The dlcs are also goated. Contrary to popular belief i would also say sekiro is not as hard as some people make it out to be. it was my first soulsborne (and maybe because of that very fact) i didn’t have a hard time with it, granted i didn’t have a hard time with any souls game later as well so you might have to try it out for yourself. what i would recommend for sekiro is to NOT play it as a souls game and be aggressive, and also you can “spam” the party button to push through the start of the game until you get more used to the mechanics, you’ll end up spamming a little bit even at the end game, it is what it is
@@masson5775 Thanks for posting. I tried Sekiro recently and started crying once I met the first mini boss. After a few days gave up on the game. I guess apart from Elden RIng these games are not for me. But will give your tip a chance as I would really like to explore the game
@@lordazlan237 don’t be afraid to look for tutorial on how to beat certain bosses/minibosses. i had a hard time at the start as well and just cheesed that chained ogre but the rest was great, so definetly try to find some tips before giving up if you want to see the rest of the game
you should try the original release of DS2, not scholar of the first sin. the enemy placements are vey different. there isn't that huge mob in the first area, or the hippo cyclops thing.
Bloodborne should've been #1, ER is yet another open world with a unique setting it's nothing new. Also BB has an unofficial 60fps patch that's really good.
7. Demon Souls 6. Dark Souls II 5. Sekiro 4. Dark Souls I 3. Dark Souls III 2. Bloodborne 1. Elden Ring Just my personal take, your list is great as well.
DS2 is definitely an acquired taste. You got to really take your time with it and slowly work your way through each area. I got to say that example you used of the enemies swarming on you is very poor since only one or two will aggro at the same time and this encounter only goes to reinforce the idea of why its so important to go slowly through the game. Also your whole point on Sekiro is contradictory, if your going to say its not a souls game then just don't have it on the list.
it feels a bit weird to do a ranking of souls like games and include sekiro if you are going to knock it for not being a souls like game. i agree that there are aspects of the game that are similar. but in its entirety its extremely different IMO. i feel like its ranking is a little pointless to include. otherwise I love the vid! agree a decent amount but disagreeing is also a big part of the fun! lots of love.
ER was my first souls game. Haven't beat it yet but I just started on it a couple months ago. Don't have that much time to play but I'm loving the game so much. Faith and intelligence ftw!!!
I've finished DS3 a couple of days ago. And before that I played only elden ring. And since I've seen all the improved boss designs of elden ring DS3 felt like a joke. The only two bosses that took some time are Friede (because I respec'd into a very unsuccessful build instead of fighting as I did before) and demon prince (because I'm bad at gank fights in general and I hate that thing when they turn both melee and go endless spam mode or both range and cover half of the arena with poison mist; phase 2 is easy though). But even being not hard at all I liked most bossfights, especially the endgame ones. Elden Ring is a pinnacle of bossfights nowdays. And it's before DLC release. When DLC comes it could be easily the game of century.
My only complaint is the some of the ruins and such are very samey and in any other game that would be a big problem . But it is my 2nd personal favorite to sekiro

Cool vid. Subscribed. I'm playing Bloodborne now. Dark souls next 😊
Welcome aboard 😊
Your Soulsborne journey sounds similar to mine. Started with DS PS5 Remake, was hooked. Then ER, BB, DS3, Sekiro. Currently playing DS1 and then DS2
1.Dark Souls 2
2.Elden Ring
3.Sekiro
4.Bloodborne

6.Dark Souls 1
7.Demon Souls
Thats my order.

@backlogbaldie true. I still think I wouldn't like Demon Souls that much, if it would have been my first.
The only one I was disappointed with.

6- dark souls 2

Haha yesss!! My first build ran faith and int too. Before they nerfed sword of night and flame 😂
If only this game had more faith/int weapons...but it has literally one. From my experience str/int and str/faith weapons are most fun and powerful😁

no
Only because it's the latest in the series. The open world is so lame and the weapon art spam is worse than DkS3.
