Loathe is building a bridge between the grunge scene of the early 90s and the hardcore/ post hardcore scene of mid to late 00s. They are definitely an era defining band.
Deftones/Meshuggah meets Code Orange, who also have those bleak 90's shoegaze/alt rock things going on. Either way, I'm way late to the party and Loathe are fucking sick.
@@treepoder I actually prefer their earlier stuff. It was like a precursor to thall but really watered down and not nearly as good. But between the open string abuse, chaotic/dissonant riffs, they kinda bridged the gap between Korn and Vildhjarta. I can’t really get down to them anymore besides occasional nostalgia, but they were relatively unique when they first came out
@@mentaltelepathy24 already know all og them, Dealer rules, Spite is sick, can't wait for the new album, code orange is not my kind and Sleep Token is just magic, I've listened to it all this day, this is incredible
I've never known a band go from dreamy and ethereal like Deftones in one song, to then matching the likes of Dillinger Escape Plan and Strapping Young Lad in sheer intensity and rage in another, quite like these guys. Impressive.
I like listening to albums that have these "wow, this is on the same album wtf?!" moments. Think of the contrast between say, "Blood Eagle" and "Crush" on Periphery's Hail Stan. That said, I'm here after first watching Fantano's review, and then checking out "Two-Way Mirror", and the contrast between these two caught me way the fuck off guard. Gonna be throwing this on Spotify for next time I go out. Good shit dudes.
I like how the album variates between moods like "crying in the rain" and "what's playing in the background as you bash someone who has been troubling you for a long time to death"
These guys are the last band I got to see before the Rona struck. I'm so happy these guys are getting the props they deserve for this record. It's a damn good one.
This song sounds so much more massive live if y’all haven’t seen live footage of it check it out that breakdown at the end live is probably one of the filthiest things I’ve ever heard l
Reminds me alot of the Hardcore Scene from the late 90s..ZAO.Haste..Integrity..Snapcase..E Town Concrete..Breach..Hell even newer stuff like Conjurer.. ..happy to stumble across this Gem..Hail Loathe 🤘
I am just now realizing that Olli from Static Dress assisted with the imagery in this video. I always felt like Static Dress and Loathe had similar "branding" with the way their videos and imagery looked!
My go-to gym song. I always put this one when arriving. The slow start fits perfectly with the first few build up, warm up moves i do, prepares me for the mood. Its insane how well this works. And when i hear "YOU'LL BREAK" time to BREAK SHIT!
Saw these guys when they supported SikTh in Oxford when I was in the UK. They belted out a solid live show. Picked up their first full length at the gig. Nice dudes too. Definitely grabbing this new album - all the songs released so far from it are legit. \m/
Reminds me of Excision if they weren't dubstep because of the dark tones but this is some of the sickest metal i've heard in a while. For anyone interested, check out the new album from Above, Below
Great song, and I’m especially impressed with the creative video. So many metal videos are the same now, it’s nice to see something so refreshing and interesting.
1:11 it sounds like Kadeem is saying "Mr.Krabbs he'll be coming for you" and now I cant unhear it
thank you .... _i feeling it now_
Delete this before any more of us are ruined.
That makes it just go harder 😂
why have you cursed me
What’s it supposed to sat
FUCK. YES. This is so goddamn good
I like how I am watching all of their videos and you commented on every video. =)
You brought me here.
This is that GOOD shit
so chaotic and insane. super unique and awesome.
This songs freaking awesome
100% agreed
Why this band isn't famous yet. Idk. But they are something special that I've never seen in another band. Keep up these master pieces
Sharptone will get them there.
I'm thinking hypertension, maybe paranoia? 🤭
cause its really niche , really dark and noisy! but thats what makes them amazing, right?
@@ParanoiaClique big facts my guy
idk if you realized but not a lot of metal bands are that famous
Loathe still casually renting mansions for that creepy atmosphere i love it!
This song is 3 years and still hits like moonshine holy shit what a masterpiece.
10 minute break at work just got a lot more intense.
10 min break just turned into a 10 min BREAKDOWN
one of the most creative and artistic music videos ive ever seen
Oh come on no it isnt
watch more music videos lol
Clearly you have only seen a couple in your life then come back later
As a music video director....this video is genius
Choosing to only shoot the shadows of the band members as they’re playing is very creative
Loathe: what would you do if you weren't afraid?
Also Loathe: RUN OR HIDE OR CRY, NOTHING WILL HELP YOU THIS TIME!
Well they scare you with this song so you can do something, seems logical haha
Loathe: literally the embodiment of mental illnes

Gagan Gill truly agreed.
wtf
wtf?
grunge -> numetal -> djent/modern metal i guess

Bad Omens is a great example of that. Listen to Dethroned then Kingdom of Cards, both on the same album. The contrast between the two is crazy. lol
I think Fantano heard two way mirror and just wrote them off as a "Deftones sound-alike" when they are anything but
