I said to one of my American friends that I had some Kinder Eggs and I was telling her about the toys but she was confused as to why we had them if they were banned in the USA 😅 The G4 My Little Ponies have metal tail washers from what I know, well, I had a My Little Pony large Princess Luna figure, one of the dress up sized ponies and the tail was attached with a metal washer like the older ponies. Such a cool idea to make a scenic base for these guys! Especially since they don't display very well on their own, haha. For future reference as well, printed resin is extremely brittle, but if you put prints in hot water (not boiling), it softens the resin and lets you break off the supports much easier and with a much lower risk of breaking the actual piece itself!

While it works the way you used it, and your description made perfect sense btw; I believe that the best way to get a nice even coat would be to use an airbrush. I loved it! The Thing that you did with 3D Printer as their bases are so Amazing! Seaponies are so cute! Gppd you restored them Also, Shoo be doo sho sho be doo🎶 Lol
Ponies came out great, as always. Nice job on the bases, with your wonderful new toy. I would love to see what else you can do with it. Of coarse, we absolutely want to see those bases finished and painted... or at least I do, it’s totally killing my OCD, to see those beautifully restored Sea Ponies sitting on unfinished bases 😹 The Calibers are a wonderful tool to have, micrometers are fun too... Machinist, Metalsmith and Welder here, so, measurements are important 😸
Thank you 😊😊 I am SO HAPPY with the printer, I have SO many plans! I hope I can get to cleaning the bases before I move on to printing 1000 accessories :P I had never used a caliper (caliber? I think I might have gotten that wrong!) so I was completely fascinated. I have a social sciences and artsy background - these tools are a marvel to me. I'm way too disorganized to take real advantage of the, but they are AMAZING!
They're super cute pony stands! I always wonder how collector display their sea ponies considering they have nothing to stand on, not even a small flat area as a "base".
Some of the adult ones had pretty shells (you can also get replicas) but I've seen many an egg holder instead 😁 When I got the printer my mind went instantly to the sea ponies ☺️
A good 3d printer UA-camr is Make Anything. He did a video with his resin printer and has some trouble shooting if your prints don't seem to stick or don't seem to be printing. Devin is a great watch. I never was a big MLP fan but I adore watching your videos! ❤
Thank you so much! I need to research, I'm sure it was something I did. Luckily the second base worked well. I will check Devin's channel. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos even though you follow MLP 😊😊
An Elegoo, nice! My friend has a couple of those. The quality of the prints is excellent and the price point makes it accessible to newcomers to the 3D printing community. You're going to have so much fun with that. I remember seeing the sea ponies but never had them myself. I think they're cute as heck.
These see ponies look beautiful again!!! Their stand could diffidently need some colors. We got Nightmare Moon, Celestia now all we need is Daybreaker, Luna, Twilight, Cadence, Daydream Shimmer, Midnight Sparkle, Cozy Glow Alicorn & chaos Alicorn form. See you on your next video, take all the time you need. :)
The bases came out great! When I first saw you measuring the bottom, I thought maybe you were going to print a weighted bottom out of a non-rustable materiel so they would still float rightside up in the bath lol
Whoa I can't wait to see what things you paint that have been 3d printed! There's a lot less 3d printed things that are cute and pretty and not just cars or something
Love the supports! You did a great job on them. Also love that this 3D printer uses resin, I hate the irregular look of 3D prints that use filament personally. Definitely interested in seeing them painted!
I had these cleaned a long time ago (hence the quality of the video) but I had never managed to finish them -- and then I got the printer and the first thing that came to mind were the bases 😊
Thank you so much 😊😊 I think you would need to make some of the stems thicker (mine were too flimsy, for any kind of printer) but you could achieve the same effect I think!
sorry if this has been commented before, but i heard of a hack to easily remove supports on resin 3d printing! i'm not a 3d printer user so i didn't memorize it, but looking up "3d print support crockpot hack" should yeild results! i'd also like to say it's so cool seeing you branch out like this with 3d printing! i can see it adding more to your projects in the future. i can't wait to see what you do with it!
Ah the good old times were choke hazard and long term effects weren't a problem of the designer 🤣

Great bases! Love them! Yes… do a painting the coral video. The second base is much better too.
Thank you 😊😊 I hope I can paint them soon!
They look beautiful. Great job.
Thank you! 😊😊
I loved it! The Thing that you did with 3D Printer as their bases are so Amazing!
Seaponies are so cute! Gppd you restored them
Also, Shoo be doo sho sho be doo🎶 Lol
Thank you so much 😊❤️🌊
Ponies came out great, as always. Nice job on the bases, with your wonderful new toy. I would love to see what else you can do with it. Of coarse, we absolutely want to see those bases finished and painted... or at least I do, it’s totally killing my OCD, to see those beautifully restored Sea Ponies sitting on unfinished bases 😹
The Calibers are a wonderful tool to have, micrometers are fun too...
@@RetroGeekCrafts Caliper is correct, I had a typo or autocorrect got me and I didn’t proofread.. Oops 😬 😹
I love these! i've never seen the seaponies before
Thank you 😊😊 They are really cute, aren't they?
Absolutely amazing! You did a good job for your first time with a 3D printer. 👏🏻
Thank you so much! 😊😊
I used to own those as a child in the 80s! I love them. Mine came with and intertube floaty.
Awesome! They didn't make them where I grew up so I only found about them recently. I LOVE them 😊
so cool stand for them they came out awsome good job as usual♥️
Thank you so much Jenna 😊😊
An Elegoo, nice! My friend has a couple of those. The quality of the prints is excellent and the price point makes it accessible to newcomers to the 3D printing community. You're going to have so much fun with that.
I remember seeing the sea ponies but never had them myself. I think they're cute as heck.
I was truly surprised, you can barely see the lines! I have so many plans now 😁
I was JUST thinking the other day about how sea ponies would make so much sense
~...yaaasss i Love it...i wish i have those sea ponies...missing them...i would have for my daugther...and the 3d printer tutorial is the best..thanks
Thank you 😊 You can find some on eBay; these two tend to be relatively cheap. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Soon!! I promise!!
I would love to see the bases when finished and painted!
Thank you 😊 I hope to get a chance to do them soon!
The bases came out great! When I first saw you measuring the bottom, I thought maybe you were going to print a weighted bottom out of a non-rustable materiel so they would still float rightside up in the bath lol
Te quedó muy bonito
Muchas gracias :)
👍
Whoa I can't wait to see what things you paint that have been 3d printed! There's a lot less 3d printed things that are cute and pretty and not just cars or something
Thank you 😊😊 I have so many plans now!!
Love the supports! You did a great job on them. Also love that this 3D printer uses resin, I hate the irregular look of 3D prints that use filament personally. Definitely interested in seeing them painted!
Thank you 😊😊 I love the effect of the resin printers too -- but cleaning them is a PAIN xD
Love this video! Your 3d bases look so cool, I hope you get to use that pearlescent paint again in another video!
Thank you so much 😊😊 I hope I can paint them soon!
Love it! Especially the second base you made, it's very cute
Thank you 😊😊
Would love to see a base painting video!
I'd love to paint them! I need to gather courage 😁
Love to see you are expanding your working materials!
Thank you so much Joana! I had been wanting to try a 3D printer for a while so I was extremely happy to make these ☺️
Yes! I'd love to see the coral bases cleaned up and painted!
I hope I can paint them soon! Thank you 😊
Beautiful work 👏 👌 ❤
Thank you so much 😊😊
Oh yay! I have been hoping to see some sea ponies :)
I had these cleaned a long time ago (hence the quality of the video) but I had never managed to finish them -- and then I got the printer and the first thing that came to mind were the bases 😊
Yes, very interested. Love your work .
Thank you 😊😊
Wonderful job
They look fantastic! I wish I had a resin printer, pretty sure my filament printer could not handle somethjng this intricate
Thank you so much 😊😊 I think you would need to make some of the stems thicker (mine were too flimsy, for any kind of printer) but you could achieve the same effect I think!
So lovely!
Thank you 😊😊
Good job! This looks really great!
Thank you so much 😊😊
Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching it 😊😊
sorry if this has been commented before, but i heard of a hack to easily remove supports on resin 3d printing! i'm not a 3d printer user so i didn't memorize it, but looking up "3d print support crockpot hack" should yeild results!
i'd also like to say it's so cool seeing you branch out like this with 3d printing! i can see it adding more to your projects in the future. i can't wait to see what you do with it!
Thank you so much for the tip!! I will look into it :) I'm really glad you enjoyed the video 😊😊
