- I have been asked to try some G4 ponies. While I work on a couple of new projects and look for bait ones, I decided to at least honour G4 with a G1 custom :) I present... My Little Pony G1 Nightmare Moon! (Princess Luna) I'm not entirely happy with the colours, I'll be honest. I think it should have been purple :/ But I really enjoy doing customs and I take this as an opportunity to learn. I also think the eyelashes would have worked better in white or silver. What do you think?

Nightmare Moon was my favorite character when i was little, she was always so scary Its nice to see her in G1 form also love the hair so perfect

BTW the pony looked beautiful before and after! I like this concept a lot, mixing generations😸

This is by far my favorite custom you’ve done the sculpting is so good!! I was literally finishing up cleaning some G1 ponies I found while thrifting when I saw this and had to stop what I was doing and watch it!! 🖤💜💙

@@RetroGeekCrafts I was able to finish them up afterwards lol. I found Rosedust (w/o wings) Seashell and Medley all in relatively good condition :)
late to the party, but I completely agree : the lines of the sculpted harness were SO clean and symmetrical. Very impressive!
I seem to have a vague memory of "pony friends" shaped like a peacock (but with hair instead of the tail feathers). Is that a real thing? For a boy in the 1980s, MLP was a forbidden interest, so maybe I'm mistaken.
I made a custom G4 of my OC and was too lazy to sculpt a horn so I just put the head of a unicorn on the body of a pegasus and it worked fine lol

I love, that you show your progress in sculpting. I always get selfconscious, when I sculpt, because in the beginning it looks... well... not like it can ever turn out ok. But watching your video made me realise, that even the incredible sculpted parts that you make, look like this in the beginning. It is just part of the process. Just step one out of many. And it is not doomed to failure, if the initial rough sculpt is looking rough. That's just how it is.

I think that's a very good philosophy; with toys especially, you can always go back and fix things. There is very little damage that is not reversible ☺️ That's why I "dare" trying new things in them :P To be honest I'm very new to sculpting, so maybe it is not supposed to look that rough, but with time it can end up looking fairly decent 😁
It's gorgeous!! Honestly, Nightmare Moon is such an underrated villain and character, it would be great to see more people acknowledge her. Your G1 rendition of her does her justice!

I love the modification to the G1 body style. I was upset when they altered the ponies to the skinny version with the huge bug eyes. You did a fantastic job!
I LOVE IT, It's so surprising to see her in the g1 style, although there are good designs in g4 I'm a fan of the first gens, so it's really cool to see them like that, you did a great job as always!

How many layers of did it take to get that nice black?

I think the pink/purple eyelashes work well - they add a nice color value transition between the white of the eye and the black of the body.

Love this! Nightmare Moon / Luna is best pony. Very nice sculpting, paint was tip top. I think you made the right decision with the eyes. I don’t think white would have looked right. I subscribed to your channel a month or so ago. I find your restorations very relaxing and enjoyable to watch. I had never thought of restoring toys, odd, as I restore antique hand tool as a hobby. I love seeing something some one once loved brought back to its former glory. Thank you for the great videos!

I’ve been waiting for a custom since your beautiful Golden Snitch, this one came out just as perfect! Excellent paint job, looks like it could be an original tbh. The only thing I would have done different is giving her a thicker mane/tail and G3 eyes 😬
Thank you so much! Rewatching the video I noticed the hair line starts quite low. I would definitely change that. For the amount of hair, I agree, however I felt it could be risky to add more because I had to redo the goes after covering them in milliput xD the last thing you want is plugs breaking the plastic. I will try to do a super-mane custom though!

Aves epoxy sculpt is really good too. I found its easier to work with over Milliput and longer work time.

I was just thinking a couple of nights ago how I hadn’t seen anyone turn G1 ponies into G4 characters. I also want to say that I have a very picky eye when it comes to crafting details and you absolutely blow me away with your work. You have a great eye for detail too AND the talent to create it. If you lived in the states I would love to commission a custom from you. This is amazing. I really hope you’ll consider more customs like this with some of your unrestorable bait ponies. 💜🖤💙

Sometimes that means having to go back and redo things, of... Edit things out of existence of all fails 🤪 I live in the UK and I honestly I don't think I'm ready to do customs for others yet.
