- Shed to home conversion… start to finish! We purchased a repossessed 16x60 storage shed and converted it into a beautiful minimal modern 2 bedroom, 2 bath home for our daughter and her family.

I don’t care what anyone says. I would rather spend my money building a home exactly how I want it. Some people say they could have bought a new home with the amount of money they spent on this but it wouldn’t have been exactly what they wanted. This came out so beautiful. It was definitely well worth it.

For the right person in the right position this came out beautiful! I would love to know what the cost of the building was since it was a repo. I am trying like crazy to get my nephew to do pretty much this same thing, only put it on a crawl space. It would be more cost, but again I bet this was highly discounted being a repo. I have been building for more than 30 years and he knows HVAC and plumbing. I did a lot of masonry work, so I could build the crawl space too. The kid even has most of the money. Maybe I am not kicking hard enough! lol
@@johnpyle8027 I hope he changes his mind that's a win win situation & both a money saver & money market if when he decides to sale. I bought a little home 40yrs ago & 20 yrs later bought 4thous.s.f lived they about 18yrs sold & went back to the small home & love it
Having helped frame a house the structural support is exactly what you get in a built on site house. That is what is imporant. Interior walls are nothing but partitions.
Enclosing the base of the house with that cement border is kind of genius. Never seen anyone do that.

Probably the prettiest shed to home conversion that I've seen thus far. I didn't know they actually make sheds that long and have no idea why anyone would need to have that much shed space to begin with. Regardless, awesome job on this.

I have a shed 12x32..it needs an overhang for many reasons, also a deck instead of steps. These ppl did a phenomenal job, it’s absolutely beautiful!

@DaMomDatCookz1 this is on our land so no not really lol houses with land must be much cheaper where you live! No possible way we could purchase something this nice with land in our area for this price!

This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen; and I've seen million dollar+ homes as a new construction sales person! I admire your work on your home. I like the layout of the interior. The white counter tops are also very beautiful. The rest of the interior decor is not my style I couldn’t live in a white and black house. However, the differences in people’s tastes is what makes life interesting. If everyone liked the exact same things we would just be clones.

Where are the closet doors and the decks? Also, why paint the outside white? The blue was a beautiful color and a nice contrast to the scenery, now it blech. What kind of tie-downs did you use to keep the shed from blowing away in a tornado?

We used hurricane straps that are anchored into the ground.

This is the way I like to see a video project . Not someone standing around talking about what they’re going to do and then telling you what they did. We can see this, and in my book, well done! Question, is the outside soft sided or hardy board? Did you seal it?

Do u think this was a better choice than a high end mobile home? I like the fact that family decisions had to be made at every step, but I would have researched and visited with some mobile home makers.
Hi! Unfortunately mobile homes are not permitted in our neighborhood. So a mobile home was not even an option. A barndo was considered but not in the budget.

Such a beautiful build! You all did a great job with the choice of finishes! Quick question, do these sheds usually have a WRB on the outside pre-installed? I noticed the windows were put in after the fact so not sure how easy it was to integrate to the WRB if that was done.

Beautiful! What material did you use the master bathroom shower?
We tiled the shower. Small Hexagons for the floor and 12x18 tiles for the walls.
Do you have the drawings for your framing? I am looking to do the same thing and this would save me some time and effort.
Did you need city permits to put it on the land and also, did you need permits to convert it to living quarters????

Very good job I do like the way you put a footer around for the skirting I have one question what's the deal with all the concrete blocks behind the skirting they do not all look like the primary blocking just curious to why there's so many there

Had nothing to do with structure or stability. Literally checking off a box … ridiculousness at its finest lol
