Thanks for the video, I have a 2005 Magnum RT and the signal switch broke 4 months ago. Dealer price is reticules and even about $130 from auto recycle. I was debating about doing this myself and I also have the same crooked steering wheel problem. I think I'll do this in a few weeks. I know how hard it is to record and work!! Great job and to any handy man it is more than enough!!
nice video my blinker had the same problem but i was afraid i was gonna mess it up by taking off the bolt you used an allen on but after watching this im pretty confident now thanks!!!!!
it's the clockspring, which is that entire black unit. Once you put the new one on, there is a pin to release the wound up coil on the inside. This is what allows the wheel to turn but not tangle the wires.
I had purchased ceramic pads which were having the squeaking issue (very weird), fortunately they have a lifetime replacement so I ended up swapping them out for a new set and that solved the problem.
So I got started on this fix. One thing further to mention, is that the ribbon cable inside the assembly is would to a certain amount of turns. You want to make sure that it stays wound correctly, so what I used to hold it in posotion while repairing the plastic piece, is som masking tape across either end of the disc. Other than tjat, great video. Got one for groaning brakes?
I just got my new part. It was $94 on ebay including shipping. Its called a "Clock Spring". For modles that consist of chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, and Dodge Charger. (2005-2008). They usually run about $145- $160. If you decide to repar Like I did at first just be careful when you JB weld the broken piece because Let it sit for 4 hours but did not prop it up properly and it froze the turning wheel. I broke it loose and used it for a couple months till the part broke again but this time when it broke a light would pop up on my dash and say ECMBAS.
Hey brother, I just wanted to thank you for this great video. Is exactly the problem that I am having, and I was worry about it. Now with this good video I know I can fix it myself. To make a video like this take time and I appreciate it. If you had see a video about a Viper vss4000 installation in this type of car please let me know where to go. Thanks again.
Thanx 4 the vid, I did this on my car but I used this Plastic Welder industrial strength glue made by DEVCON boght it at EBAY, I used this glue before and I can garantee you it will never brake again if you use this glue and is only about 5 bucks,,thanx again.
When you superglue plastic like that you should add a little baking soda to it to fill in the gaps and make the glue adhere stronger to the plastic. Just don't get it into your moving parts and you'll be golden.
Hey awesome video thank you so much you make it look easy imma try it! one question what is the name of the part that needs to get replaced? did you get yours fixed?
Thanks for the Video. Had the same problem fixed it... but then it broke again so I need a new part. By any chance do you know the part name and number?
This video was very helpful man. I have a 2005 300 touring...my mechanic said I need a steering cloumn coupling....would u know what that part looks like or the price? I've had zero luck finding it
so thats what that lil piece is from! I had to go get a used clock spring as my horn or steering controls werent working in my 05 300c 5.7 and they want 300 for new clock spring went to auto wrecker found a few 300c's and pulled the clock spring from two of them cause first one i messed up i took the sterring shaft off first as i needed one aswell, and didnt leave steering wheel centre so messed up that one and found another 300c and made sure it was centre, but anyways when i pulled both clock springs off id see that little black piece sitting inside the steering control module and was wondering wtf that was for! now to wait for a new 300c to come into the auto wrwcker and make sure i pull it carefully not to break those pieces
Hey man whats the part number for the steering wheel and how do you fix the squeaking noise when braking i have the same issue 2005 chrysler 300c? Love you video man thank youu!!
Hi what about 2015 Chrysler 200 cuz I'm trying to put a new windshield wiper switch I just don't know how to take the steering wheel off to get to it I need a video step by step
Mine is a 97 Chrysler 300 bro it makes a anoying sound when I turn to the left or sometimes it makes a ruff sound can it be the steering week column too?
Where's the sound coming from the steering wheel or the column or the turn signal or outside the car from the wheels and what kind of sound is it making ( grinding-- clicking-- or a vibration sound!?) and does it matter if u r turning left or right?? Be specific as you can
+Boston Celtics 34 I dose it when I'm coming out of my drive way when I turn the steering wheel left and seems to do a grinding sound from the steering wheel it sounds like grinding and i noticed it more when I'm going slow bro I tryed sea foam trans tune to clean out the power steering but if tht didn't work

Thanks for taking the time to post this. It solved my issue. As an addendum, I used the DEVCON Plastic Welder and it seems to work very well.
You did a fantastic job! Very informative and great quality in capturing every detail. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
This guy should have made a living out of this. He solved my problem and saved me hundreds of dollars.
nice video my blinker had the same problem but i was afraid i was gonna mess it up by taking off the bolt you used an allen on but after watching this im pretty confident now thanks!!!!!
Thanks a lot buddy. I was about to buy a new switch because i had no idea what the problem could be. I'll fix it soon !
Cheers
Very informative. Great video tutorial too. Thanks for taking the time!

Correct make sure your wheels are straight and steering shaft doesn’t move when installing a new one.
Great Video, explained very well. You sir are the Man!
I had purchased ceramic pads which were having the squeaking issue (very weird), fortunately they have a lifetime replacement so I ended up swapping them out for a new set and that solved the problem.
Thanks jStyle T, that was enough to get my confidence to the point to do the job. I will, however buy a new part as opposed to glueing.
