Hi Kathie, For the ratio you can experiment to see what you like but to get the paint mix to shoot out of the prayer it's about 1 part paint to 5 parts water. But I've never measured it. I just pour about a 1/4 of a gallon into my water filled, (about a third full) 1 gallon used juice bottles and then add water to about 3/4 full.... Once done you will see as you spray if it's too thick or thin... It kinda shows you by how it flows.... So I hope that helps. @@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos Thank you Dave. The link you have to your free pdf gives me a security warning. I'm not actually making rocks. Although I'd love to try one day. I'm sculpting with cement. A new adventure for me. I don't like the look of raw cement and would like to give it some color but don't want to "paint" it. I've looked into acid stains, but they are pretty expensive and hard to get. House paint is readily available at the local big box store. Have you tried wood stain? You mention Cal Tints, but I'm not sure what you are doing with them. Are you adding it to the paint mix or mixing them by them self? Thanks for these awesome videos.
Hi Katie, not sure what the security warning is about. Try rebooting your phone or computer. On coloring cement mixes, there should be liquid cement tints in the box stores. They work pretty well. You can also experiment with stucco as your creative material. The base is usually white so color can be much more vibrant. And they have tints for that too. They're a powder. Stucco is just a little softer than Portland cement mixes I'm pretty sure. And then you can get white Portland at pool contractor supply stores that again give brighter colors. Try adding fiberglass fibers to you mixes and they'll start to behave more like clay as you work it, (just a pinch of fibers then mix with a power drill mixer and mortar mix bit). Plus you can add different grits of sand or other aggregates including glass beads. Gently sponge off the finished surfaces revealing their awesome colors and textures! So many options for creative expression! Oh, and remember to include an acrylic add-mix liquid to all you mixes, (1 to 6 or 8 ratio of water) like Sika, (at box stores). Helps it last and improves workabilty. So there ya go. Hope that helps. Cheers! :)

I just pour about a 1/4 of a gallon into my water filled, (about a third full) 1 gallon used juice bottles and then add water to about 3/4 full.... Once done you will see as you spray if it's too thick or thin... It kinda shows you by how it flows.... So I hope that helps. Also if you've not already done so, you can go and get some free pdf downloads on the how-to's of fake rock construction at www.davehenderson.podia.com. Also, have my two ebooks there too if ya like. Then I have my blogs at www.daverhenderson.com. Anyway, thanks for checking out my stuff. Appreciate it. If you have any other questions let me know. Now go have a great day NO MATTER WHAT! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)
Cheers! :)
