that random girl flashing was awesome!
Jared, what just happened? hahaha....that was unexpected!
"Welp, there's a smell...but no leak" also applies to narrowly missing a shart.
🤣🙉🤦🏻♂️👍🏼
😿
"The girls like the truck" 😂
Jared... We have to admit that at the beginning of this build we were really skeptic about the final result... thank you for proving us wrong and showing your genius dedication to make this great!! This is amazing! Also please keep Johnny with that rust that definitely give him character
There’s a fine line between a good fart and a shart. It just so happens the line is usually drawn in you underwear...
@@masonsydow9546 holy shart this is the best comment ever on you tube I’m rolling.
Jared - "Spark plugs are almost below the frame"
Me - dies inside everytime I think about changing them on my Subaru
The struggle is real
Only thing worse than changing spark plugs on a Subaru is to change the valve cover seals...
@@BigBadAssViking I've done both. It wasn't so bad with a low-profile socket wrench and just the right extension, on a 2004 at least.
@@jasepoag8930 It's really not bad with the right tools. It's not inline 4 though.
@@jasepoag8930 Mine is a 1999 Outback and it was tight as hell on the passenger side. Could barely get the cover out between the engine and the frame. But hey at least with the valve cover off it was much easier to change the plugs :)
I want to thank you guys for what you do. The passion and love you show for what you are doing is infectious. I lost my love for wrenching on cars when my dad could no longer do it with me. Parkinson's robbed him of the ability to do the work, and I just lost passion for it without him. Watching your videos has made me want to get back in the garage and get back to it. For that I can't thank you enough.
Sometimes a break is needed, and then when you get back to it, it will remind you of all the memories you shared.
Everyone loves a fun girl like that.
Randy has really came around on video. His shop and knowledge of internationals is amazing. Great work!
"That's a lot of shafts to fit in one hole." Lmmfao!!! For real though this is a freaking awesome build. I love International's and this is great!! I had to rewind and sure enough you got flashed! LOL
From solid state relays, to liquid, to gaseous state relays in a few days...
Plasma relays
What a great build. And that girl flashing y'all is classic. Keep it up
4:41
Jared: Got any idea?
Randy: YEET!
Are you going to restore the interior at all?
Yes, it will be getting the full treatment! Old and sketchy looking on the outside, comfortable on the inside
Looking forward to have digitalized speedometer and gauges and touch screen after the paint
"The girls like the truck"
Win.
"There's a smell, but no leak." A phrase only uttered when driving an old car or having a child in diapers.
I've never been an advocate of tasting car fluids to figure out a leak as there's only a handful of colors involved, but if you've had an old car and all the fluids age/burn at any time, it's got its own diagnosing system built in.
Wet farts have no age
4:40, anyone else think of whisilindiesel when he pulled out the "drop box"? Lol
Is Jared using his bottle of Keeps as aftershave??
Been waiting for more episodes of this and Freddy’s. Happy holidays Jared!
My absolute favorite "vette". Steering Fixed (check) Send it on the Tail of the Dragon (next?)
Thousands of dollars and dozens of man hours to be as fast as my 1992 Geo Storm I rocked in college. Good stuff!
that steering bracket is amazing. that guy is really skilled
"Cardboard Aided Design" lol ✌🏻💯
i have years of experience in CAD. built some serious stuff that way
Binky & BOM!
@@me282uk exactly what i came to comment on
Love this truck, keep posting videos of it and building it up!
I've got a 74 Travelall that I want to build similar to the Johnny Rev but I want to transplant it onto a late model Expedition chassis and drop in a supercharged coyote.
12:00 large Solid State Relays need a heat sink to handle full current. Those SSRs however, can't handle 40A even with a heat sink.
Truck is awesome and Randy is hilarious!! Awesome job you two.
that is so cool ! you have to give it a paint job even if it's a 5 minet rattle can job
suppose you need all those adds to pay for that shiny new steering box. loving you work in between though
You boys have got some serious fans just hanging around by the road side.
So, where exactly were you driving??? lol
Great job! I’ve been waiting for this video. I’m excited to see what keeps happening with this build and towing Car Trek toys to awesome locations!
Ive been running a pair of Hayden PWM 3655 fan controllers on my 2003 F150 just over a year now without issues. I installed a 2014 F150 5.0 fan that was tow package equipped. Added a pair of relays for each controller on the firewall just in case
Use Opto 22 solid state relays. They invented them and are designed for industrial applications and have a lifetime warranty.
Didn't you get her phone number?!?
look at the type of residential buildings they are driving through and ask yourself that question again..................................................
Wow, it looks just like a pancake drill adapter I use in Aerospace assembly!
Randy is such a legend!
Nice "secret" Canadian components visible at 15:04 -- were those in the original specs?
You might try the original GM dual fan set up for the fans. Trigger 1 from pcm sets both fans at 50 percent. Trigger 2 sets both at full speed. The set up uses 3 relays. GM also set the pcm to shutt off the fans at very high speeds, since the forced air works to cool. Also it allows longer fan life. (You can opt out of this on your tune).
I have used this set up in more than 50 swaps. Its great i can send you the diag and parts list i use.
Great build.
Some black rims would look dope! Awesome work Jared
I sent Tavarish a link for that steering setup a few weeks ago after watching the last steering setup on this truck. Did you get the from him? They're local to me. Good guys.
Yeah at least he said Freddy paid for it so he may have ordered and sent it 🤷🏻♂️
Not sure if it is what you sent to him, its called Steer Clear, he ordered the one i sent a link to, most likely it is the same, not many out there!
24:25 your welcome ... not much to see but it's all what we were waiting for through the video lol 😃🤣
WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?!?
Seriously you made the video a whole lot better!!!🤣😎💪🏼
Without doubt the best comment. 😃😂🤣😂
The grass is definitely greener on that side of the road.
I'm putting it down to *A breast of fresh air* lol
This is one of the more exciting builds on youtube! period
Cardboard Aided Design! Bad Obsession Motorsport making a stealth appearance
For a shed that just rolled out of the work shop for it's first drive, 15.4 is unbelievably quick.
Those ssr's solid state relays, supposed to be mounted on a heat sink! No wonder they exploded!
I know you like the patina but have you ever thought about restoring the paint now and doing a custom interior
mighty fine bracket, Nick Blackhurst of BoM would be proud
I can see a use for a non 1:1 ratio on the drop box - if you are doing a body swap onto a chassis that has only a slow ratio gear box available, a 1.2:1 or 1.5:1 would give you the advantages of a quicker ratio for a modern feel, while maintaining the ability to order parts for the donor chassis straight out of the catalog. However, I see steering quickeners are a thing, so this isn't much of a use case.
I had one in the 70s that was low mileage. The thing about it l remember is l never had to use 1st gear. It would pull away from stop just fine in 2nd gear.
You have tons of room for twin turbos. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!
Next thing you need is some good shoulder belts to keep your face from knocking a dent in the dashboard.
I love this truck. Great videos
I love to see honda rousey again
Nice bracket! Not Bad Obsession nice, but still very nice.
Country girls, gotta love em!!!!
That female was so proud of chest day, she wanted to share her gainz!
Randy's solid ... pity you didn't get an opposite rotation steering box , turn the wheel left and the truck goes right , way cooler ..😎
What happend with Tavarish? He hasn't been uploading for over 3 weeks
Hi Johnny Rev and Jared and guest nice video 📹 and workmanship love the Dino Test Maybe there's a Sercret Service Computer Running it sometimes!!! For all vehicles maybe that's why hic is in the name vehicles
The classic relay is perfectly reliable and works great. No need to upgrade.
With traction that is a 14 sec truck. Now tune it, put some drag radials on it, get the best time then turbo.
8:11 best pun every!!!!!
That comment saying its you with male pattern baldness hit me hard LOL !!! You got me dude Rofl!!!
It's nice to know in these devicive times, you go with your better angles...😅
rightfully so, build is amazing
Add some gearing - and some robust power-steering - and you could even replace the steering wheel with handlebars from a motorbike... Perfect with an auto trans for an amptutee/disabled veteran! Just add a crane on the bed for a power-wheelchair!!
I’m late but if you turn this into a sema build this will be crazy and nice vid
I ran a Mercedes fan ramp up relay since I’m running a huge fan on my 2jz
I hope this truck makes some super cars look silly on CarTrek some day.
At 16:03 , not only tighten the wheel nuts... but make sure you install all of them. lol
A little treat for the editor in this batch of footage :)
Xd
I just wanted to stop and say great job on another video. & also say that I enjoy watching to see your amazing work quality and craftsmanship on every vehicle you work on. Also im truly impressed with all of your extensive knowledge on everything is absolutely mind bowing.
😃👍 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
was missing my wrench everyday fix
For your Keeps plug, you said 1 out of 3. You should have called Freddie after asking Randy. :)
An ad commercial followed by a UA-cam ad commercial yay watching UA-cam is fun....
Absolutely love that truck
Now that steering box has a ratio of 1 to 1. Just like the Koenigsegg.
Oh , that's power to weight. Nevermind. Still a nice work around.
"There's a smell, but there's no leak." I think that's what you call a "fart".
Also, with all the room for activities, you could easily put a blower and twin turbskies in there.
After seeing Whistlin Diesel's dropbox, johnny rev's box looks tiny. I think his is for his rear steering or his differential. I forget
I doubt you found 2 different parts with the same number. The 38 amp would be the peak current handling for a millisecond or so, the 6 amps would be an average.
Honestly a 2 to 1 would allow you easier steering without a PS pump. The less mechanicals, the more potential reliability
GPS/Google Maps on the phone can give you an approx speedometer
WHAT WAS THAT !! 😳 My Christmas list #1 JOHNNY REV!!
Jonny rev is back 👏👍
4:25 Different ratio could possibly act like a shorter rack, no?
It would be so nice to see some classic neglected wheels on the international! That would definitely compliment the whole sleeper idea of the truck! Not a fan of those alloys...
Don't worry, they aren't staying forever. The wheels are what we had that would fit.
@@TheQuestionableGarage Detroit steel wheels would look good but not sure that's the look you're going for
Detroit steel wheels don't have the load rating we need. They look cool but they aren't meant for working.
@@TheQuestionableGarage go for some alcoas 😎give it that super heavy duty look and feel
Love the fabrication. It’s informative. You should be safe. Is it possible to fit 3 point belts?
Jared, if you run your fans from battery positive you run a bigger risk of returning to a dead battery from a stuck fan switch. Cars in the 80's did that. The OEM's don't do that anymore. I don't see the benefit of running the fans after turning the engine off.
Was he telling us, the viewers to try keeps or to Mike the editor ?
When I saw mid engines I thought the engine was in the bed
Almost time for custom seat
24:27 The chicks Dig it... She Gave you Her headlights.... Bahahahaha
you should get a set of new silverado high country wheels for johnnyrev
Oh... I thought it said “she liked it” 🤣
Nice editing with the big red Xs LOL
Love it! Keep up the good work guys!
Could you or Tarvarish do a how to turbo kit install??
Nice machine for the metal work!
Nice run thru mexico!
Keeps must not work since Freddy is still going bald......lol
If you need a custom bracket there are a couple of guys building a Mini I could put you in touch with
