Today, Jared goes over Tavarish's questionable Lexus SC300 build with a fine-toothed comb. This should be fun.

Florida not having yearly inspections and tavarish moving there seems to have a connection...
Florida Man! 😆 🤣
No state taxes. If you are an independent contractor or however these youtubers file, it keeps a lot more cash in your pocket. The lax vehicle laws just make it even easier.
Dude Colorado has no inspections ever you'll see people driving with 0 brake lights and completely wrecked cars that should have been scrapped years ago
@@jacobfleming565 have a friend who used to live there who had a fucking beater amc with no lights and probably half its cylinders.
@@MomJeans2 independent contractors in Florida pay more in taxes than those that withhold. Yes no state income taxes, but Uncle Sam still gets 30%
Now that we have seen tavarish's first rebuild car.........we also need to see Jared's first rebuilt car
By the way,love your videos
Is that not his old Supra that he sold parts of the gearbox to a customer and then later built a borrowed gearbox to make it work?
UU probably been crushed at least 30 years ago😅
touche'
Would love to see this completely restored inside and outside up to tavarish’s exotic car standards but all body panels fixed and the car wrapped but with a recreation of the art already on there minus the troll face and U mad?.
Budget exotic
That's the entire reason I subscribed
I agree. It would be cool to see all of the ideas of 19 year old Tavarish done correctly. I like the idea of doing the wrap with the current paint scheme although I think it should include all of what's there to keep it period correct. This car reminds me of my 94 Civic DX coupe I had that I did all of my amateur mods to too. I did a lot of outside the box things to mine too. Someday I would like to find another civic coupe and build it as I did back then, but with better craftsmanship and a better budget
KEEP THE TROLL FACE AND U MAD
Why remove those? Classic meme culture is such a large part of early 10s culture
Jared I think I speak for many others when I say I could watch an entire video of you talking about AFR and related topics. So consider dropping some episodes of pure nugget on your channel alongside the actual wrenching content. Cheers!
AFR?
Stephen R Air Flow Research. *I think
An O2 sensor measures a ratio, called the lambda. That ratio is the amount of air vs the amount of fuel consumed during the combustion process. Various different types of fuel consume different amounts of air during combustion. When the lambda, is one, that means all of the fuel and all of the air is consumed by the combustion process. This is the most efficient ratio (not necessarily the ratio that generates the most power) since there is neither left over fuel, nor left over air. Since we know that different fuel types consume different amounts of air, the amount of fuel required to consume all the air (and to achieve a lambda of 1) varies. This is how a single O2 sensor can measure the air fuel ratio for various types of fuel.
"I'm not gonna say yes... but yes" 🤣🤣🤣
I love tech time with Jared should have its own episodes sometimes like a general how to and how things work on non stock cars just like he did here
He has tons of episodes like that on the other channel.
Jared is a great shop manager and wrench trainer.
I think this car is growing on me.
Oh, wait - that might just be some of the paint that flaked off.
Or the mold on the filter
IT's the spores from the air intake lol
Mommy and daddy are fighting. lol
I really impressed about the car. For what you knew, you knocked the build out of the park.
Me without a car at all is jealous of tavarish's first car although its abt to blow
I laughed so hard at the math graphics. But i appreciate that it was also educational,
I’m gonna be upset if they don’t keep the paint. Also if they don’t work on the Ferrari at some point in time
That horrible paint is what gives the car its soul.
why does everyone treat these cars as a joke? why not give it a decent paint job, that crap is fun at 19 with a rattle can but he can do better now
They have to repaint it sooner or later, because the paint is flaking off in several areas, but they could keep the design while getting a proper repaint.
@@AleksiSilfver it seems like a difficult job to re-create that paintjob. Maybe they can get a professional to photograph it and create vinyls?
Low key... reverse camera "hidden" in the tail light is kind of genius. Low key.... love it
No offense Fredi but I love the way Jared says welcome to the shop that lets me know shit is going DOWN!!
Jared and Freddie make a really unique and cool team. You have the mad scientist with all the training, and the self-taught genius who makes VERY questionable choices. Great chemistry and synergy.
Aaaaaaand we are back to the hoarder king of unfinished cars! 😂
😅🍻👌 the struggle is real..
i think samcrac wins
@@tspawn35 And he never worked on any other car in the meantime 😊
Yeah, kinda sad
@@tspawn35 GTFO here with this bullshit. The Murci is in the god damn Peterson Museum (aka literally the most important custom car museum on the entire fucking planet). If that's not "finished", I don't know what the fuck is.
You can definitely tell the new editor, amazing quality. Love it!
Freddy needs to take this to the car wizard for an estimate. The Toyota dealer would be funny too.
The Car Wizard does not like Custom wiring 🤣
He'd say it's "uneconomical to repair" 😂😂
He’d laugh him out of his shop most likely. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looking at the work that was done back then and where you are now you should be proud of yourself. You have come a long way.

Jared: casually waving hand around harmless, dead spider
me: NO NO NO NO NO
I have waited for this video, and it's finally here and I love it
Best video I have seen so far here! Jared was ruthless in a very gentle way.
Love seeing people being able to revisit/meet their OLD/PREVIOUS Cars!
Love you guys, amazing comedic but educational interaction ❤
You guys are a hoot. Love your style! Keep up the great work.
Can the paint on the car be recreated as a vinyl wrap?
That's a very good idea!
The troll Face has to go tho
It better be, that paint is what makes that car... special...
You two work well together, super entertaining ... thank you both ...😎
Freddy doesnt look to happy on this episode lol
well he got roasted
I glad that this SC is getting fixed, it's the reason I started watching Tavarish. I've owned an SC300 since I was 19 and was my 1st car. The goal was to restore it on a budget, I used to go to the pull yard every time one was listed, the big plans were to go with an N/A build with ITBs on the 2J instead of the usual turbo route. Those plans crashed and burn when the mechanic I trusted pretty much destroyed the car. Now I'm 23 on my 2nd car, a newer SC300 with a 1.5J swap. I enjoy the platform even though it hasn't treated me the best. I think Tavarish's puddle light idea was cool, I have my puddle lights built into the bottom of the side mirrors and the use of the key hole for the backup camera was interesting. The SC pretty much only has 2 good jacking points from the factory the front cross-member and rear diff, the 4 points on the side are just for the spare tire scissor jack and stands. Can't wait to see this thing, back to it's formal glory.
This is one of my favorite cars that Freddie owns. Hey Jared please add some ISF videos in the near future bud!
Thank you, Jared. The comment about old airbags, some people don't understand how basic and potentially dangerous those old systems are.
Yes I've been waiting for an update for so long lol this is gonna be fun
I’m so excited to see this restored with that custom paint job
There is nothing you can build that Jared can't pick to pieces... What a joy he is to have around!
Cant wait for the rebuild on this!!!
its hilarious how Jared Roasts Tavarish in the video haha
Jared is an educated, polished mechanic. A breath of fresh air when compared to the lots of UA-cam mechanics. Tavarish, however, is knowledgeable, charismatic and smart, he’ll always make great content. The combination of these two, however, is potent!
I like how Tavarish started this channel, and Jared has just taken over and it’s practically his channel now
I was just wondering if/when we get to see an update on this. Now 30 mins of it! Whoop Whoop!!!
Wrench HQ!! keep up the budget builds🍻👌.. I can't afford an exotic car🤦🏽♂️
Yes please!
I always drool over Jared's explanations, its my cup of tea lol 💪🏽😎💪🏽
More Jared! More nuggets of information please!
The nostalgia, my first build was a 92 sc300 as well. I manual swapped that at 19 🥺
Damn Tavarish building cars at 19 that im only still planning.
Never too late to start
Hahaha yepp was broke at 19 and still broke now
The SC platform can get expensive rather quickly if you don't play it smart and you also have to accept that you might pay either supra or lexus markups on some parts. I started working on them at 19 with a minimum wage part time job of $7.25 an hour. It's doable but sacrifices had to be made.
@@zXCrackersXz my dream is to import a Toyota Soarer with the GTE in it. Same exact car just RHD with Toyota badge.
The fact that Jared can pull those numbers from memory is pretty impressive. I cant even tell you what my own cellphone number is. Though I can tell you what my childhood phone number was. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Idk about anyone else, this isn’t the car I had when I was in my teens, but the nostalgia in this video brings me back, we all started by doing things like this! Lol
I like the "U MAD" on the roof and the troll face :D
Bet he chopped loads of rich kids in their BMW's :D
Someone else mentioned the ide in the comments but you should take and scan the old spray paint and then have a custom wrap made exactly like the spray paint.
That power inverter reminds me of when I tried to mount a first-gen Xbox into the rear storage bin of my '86 Corvette and tried to make the updated stereo work with it.
Jared, thank you for spreading the word that HIDs in non-HID housings blind people. You're in a great position to help convince people how wrong that shit is, whereas when I've told people in the past they just laugh and think "lol this guy has no idea" or whatever. Same applies to LEDs in non-LED housings btw!
I found you guys through Cleeter! Im subin ya! It’s just to hot outside! I have to go to music. I will watch your stuff!👍👍👍
This screams 90's tuner build. I LOVE IT
I still have my '95 240sx with an S13 SR20DET and kouki front core support/full front swap. I've had it since 2005 when I was 17. It (briefly) made 557 to the wheels on a GT35R turbo/2.25 stroker build and really, really heavy chassis and suspension modding, but from the exterior it looked pretty muck stock other than the wheels being 10 inches wide if you looked underneath it, and a silvia hood badge. Even had a stock interior other than 4 point harnesses. Unbelievable sleeper.
It was also road legal because my home town (Pinal County in Az) had no noise ordinance or emissions laws. No inspections at all, really. And I got lucky when I moved to Washington State in that the '95 is the only S14 that was OBD-1, so I can actually keep it road legal in WA state with the SR20.
Then I punched a hole in the #3 piston about 13 years ago. It hasn't run since. But I promised my mother that I would only get rid of it if I didn't get into Med school on my second attempt. I've been dragging it all over the country with me, a giant paperweight in my garage. I've had people offer me 10k for the roller alone, but as long as I can, I will never sell it. The memories of tearassing around various race tracks in the southwest, getting pulled over for 172mph in a 75 and let off with a warning, slamming it into a curb and smashing a wheel, brake disc and steering knuckle, the scar that I got from replacing said brake disc, wheel and steering knuckle...
I've had other cars I adored, but apart from the '81 RX-7 I'm going to inherit from my mom when she passes away, none that I abjectly love.
Looking forward to seeing this rebuilt
Reminds me of the weird mods I did to my Camaro back in high school! Wired red neon to come on when you opened the doors, newer mirror with the temp & compass in it, PSone and a 5" color CRT TV in the console for the back seat... hah, good times.
WED editor! The Jared info graphics were HILARIOUS!!!!!
Thanks Brian. Was wanting to do much more with it but ran out of time and numbers :)
@@decaharms Seeing as how these "Professor Jared" moments keep coming up, would it be good to get some still poses to generate segway/intro to "Professor Jared Explains" moments? Maybe it's just the engineer in me, but I love it when Jared drifts off from engaging the audience and into the technical side, since I do that too, and I know it's annoying to whomever I'm speaking.
Brian Neu I actually have a little “Professor Jared” video intro that I use from time to time to introduce an educational section. I should have put it in there on this video. Keep an eye out for it going forward. :)
Pretty decent work at 19. I cringe when I think I about the stuff I did to my first car.
Hi Jared and Tarvarish nice video and workmanship
Love the vid keep going
When your mechanic buddy points out how you did some things um and other things... Oh My.... Thanks for the smiles guys...
Tavarish face when Jared was talking about LAMBDA was priceless. LOL
love the 1j content!!!! This car needs a full length update video just like the Supra!!!
this was a guaranteed show stopper back in the day. my first car was an sc400 . im gonna buy one one day and do it right .
First time I've been thus early. Great video by the way.
This is awesome to see. I wish I could get the car I modded the summer after I watched Fast and the Furious the first time in the theaters when I was 18. That was 20 years ago and I just did that math, holy shit. '91 Eclipse base model, dragon door stickers, coffee can exhaust tip. Man, the things I could actually do to it now. Like junk the damn thing and get a Eclipse GSX lol.
Mad props to the editor for beautifully adding the math graphics so perfectly lmaooo
I would love to see you guys rebuild this monster
"...build a car in your driveway in New Jersey"
CHRISFIX HAS ENTERED THE CHAT
dont be ashamed. creativity is the best skill you can have as car enthusiast.
amazing what is possible when looking tru shelves in search for SOMETHING that got the shape you need.
a skill that will save you thousands of $ and also give you a advantage on a roadside breakdown or if you wanna try to take on raceweek sometime.
you would be surprised to see how few actually know how to fix things instead of just replacing it.
they are the ones i would like to fight in a junkyard build battle.
i love frankenstein builds. crazy combos can be made :P
Thanks for making me smile.
even in that condition...this is one of my favorite cars all time....
We need a car Jared built at 19 too. hahaha
I keep a pair of vice grips in the center console of my dodge AND my vw for this reason!
Lolol @ "so your trying to tell me my performance car issss not performing". You 2 are hilarious.
This should be a fun build series. The creativity that went into this build originally, is what has been missing from the car scene lately. You should fix it, but either keep the paint, or do a whole new wild design. Plenty of serious cars in you garage, why not have one that just makes everyone laugh
Just found this channel. I had no idea it existed. Cool beans
"It hasn't done it yet so we're fine." Well said. That's how I live my life.
Jared is a wealth of information... its incredible
20 years ago when I helped my friend install his first "system" we knew the hatch of his trans am leaked so we thought it would be a good idea put the amp in a ziplock produce bag expecting that it would let the moisture out but not in... years later we removed it, the amp was soaking wet but it never stopped working.
His logic on wiring his temp gauge cracked me up.
"Hey, I paid for 20 feet, i'm gonna use 20 feet".
Give Tavarish props. He did a great job with that build as a 19 year old.
Loving your conversation.
I hope you figure out a way to keep the paintjob because honestly it's ridiculous but also pretty cool, especially with a lot of the little details in there etc. It adds character.
I also have a an SC 300 and I'm stoked to see this thing rip can we get some driving videos? Please
i love this series above all. if i could only find my old crx...
A car: is broken
Tavarish: let’s throw a turbo at it
I dont think your younger work isn't something to be embarrassed about no one does a perfect build not even people that's been doing it for years the main thing is that you learn and strive to do better cause you'll never get better by not tring. The most important part is to always keep your head up and never give up. If you wouldnt have given it a shot back then knowing it might not be as good as you want has lead you to building some of the cleanest builds on UA-cam
Real ones know that Freddie’s first engine swap was a 3.5 in a maxima that got stolen, and then parted. Only reason he stuck around was cause the forums helped raise some money for his next build 👀
Let's see you out on a rally or just cruising in that beautiful Murci/any one from garage. We would love to see and hear it out.
I think this car deserve a Full rebuild, take everything out and refresh everything that It needs
Trust me when I say, in Vermont you want to jack with the frame rails and not the pinch welds, even in the right spots. Once there is enough rust you can't see, your pinch welds go bye bye! 😂
I died at "mommy and daddy are fighting right now? 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Paint that sucker with the colors used in the theme of 'Saved by the Bell' & modernize it like a retro-mod! The car is actually quite appealing in my opinion.
9:15 LOOOOL , Tavarish face look :D Hilarious :D
The Nickelodeon themed wrap is my favorite part.
bro this whole thing is so funny
One of my favourite cars of all time the build and the technology in them day is robust. I hope he fix like new and have show car. Nice to see another 90's cars.
Turn it into a drift build 🔥🔥
Hilarious... great vlog!! You 2 are like a married couple!!
The hood prop has me dead 😂
Thanks for the nuggets Jared
Tavarish is like I didn’t do any of that! lol I am dying in my pants right now. BROKANIC
