As a fan of the dodgers, I’m fully expecting a first round exit. We have 2 good pitchers right now and the guys we have been putting out there ooof. Offense if they wake up could be the leading force but you can’t win playoff games with just offense.
It’s been a long season as far as the health of the team especially with pitching but injuries are part of the game so no excuses. Like the old saying goes “you live by the sword and you die by the sword” in LA it’s championship or bust!
The Dodgers entire staff is on the IL the backup staff is on the IL the minor league staff is on the IL yet the Dodgers are still 4 games ahead of the Padres which is a testament to the greatness of the Dodgers
It makes total sense that not having any sticky stuff would contribute to injury. Especially in the first few years after it was banned. I’m not a doctor either but I’ve thrown enough to know if you change the way you hold the thing you throw thousands of times it’s going to affect the body differently
@enshk79 but can they go back? If you had a choice of being in the minor leagues or going for a Cy Young awards. That's your choice. The answer you will attempt to be a finesse pitcher will lead to neck injury from you watching the home runs fly out. But you are totally right. Just not a choice they can make.
Every dodger fan is concerned right now, but before 3 days ago I thought to myself that Walker buehler will dominate in his final starts, he is made for these clutch moments. I did have concern as pitched against the braves next and is coming off a bad start. However aside from the 3rd inning, he dominated. If my prediction is correct, we will have Flahtery, Yamamoto, Buehler, and maybe Gonslin. Those 3 aces, and Gonslin as a thrown in is just enough starting pitchers you need. Realistically if you have 2 aces in the postseason you will make it deep.
I feel bad for Buehler, because he's obviously not that bad, but because he's one of the few they're dragging out every game, he's either pretty good or just straight up gives up a football score. What's worse is that they're clearly saving their energy for the playoffs but throwing their lower end players under the bus to do so (with the exception of yesterday's game). Its actually insane how wonky the Dodgers' defense have gotten in the past month
I'm convinced if the Dodgers don't have the injuries to Glassnow, i feel that the team should win the WS. With only Yoshi and Flaherty as #1 and #2 in rotation, that's not enough because Kershaw, Bueler, Miller, and others suck and unreliable.
My theory is that the Dodgers pitching is cursed. They didn't stand behind their pitcher, Trevor Bauer, and the Baseball Gods said :Uh huh, We got something for ya". I posted on Twitter that it seems every year the Dodgers start the season with too many starting pitchers, and end with none.
For sure, and now that their fan base is booing opposing pitchers who are having heart problems, they may not even finish the season without a position player starting the game on the mound💀
It was crazy to me that Glasnow got paid while Snell had to take a short term deal. Snell did do it to himself but if the Dodgers really wanted to win, Glasnow was always a risk.
As a dodgers fan, miller and buehler need to show why they deserve to stay in the rotation for next year by pitching well in the next few games and in October
It's not even just the starting pitching, the bullpen is full of bad pitchers. Even when the starter gives up five runs, the bullpen finds a way to give up another five. 🤦♂

That’s how hopeless I feel about my injury plagued team!
