I don't understand how people are calling 2020 fake when all the teams were on the literal same playing field and everyone was healthy. Nobody had an advantage or disadvantage and the rosters were stacked with talent due to nobody being injured because the season was so short. All 30 teams had the same opportunity at full strength.

The Braves gave us a hell of a Series and the Rays put up a fight forcing a game 6. EVERY single team had the same chances to make it to the playoffs. Shohei is MVP of the season. Without him, the Dodgers would not have won their Division and would not have been in the World Series. He carried the Dodgers for much of the year. He was also instrumental in bringing Yamamoto to the Dodgers.

The fact that Casparius, Knack, Honeywell and Hudson sacrificed themselves in game 4 to give Flaherty and bullpen some time to rest for game five was so clutch by Dave Roberts to do that (by the way we let Honeywell and the rest know how much we appreciated them for that during the parade celebration) I’m still in awe by what the Dodgers were able to do in this postseason under these conditions.

Those arguments about postseason failures do not make any sense regarding 2020. The same postseason bracket was played. Anything it would make all teams involved in those rounds evenly match because there was no traveling and there was no other little inconveniences that you get during a regularpostseason run 2020 was a legitimate win. In every season since 2020 the Dodgers had serious holes in their roster by the time they reached the postseason. I was not at all surprised when they failed to advance very far, and this season seemed like it might be no different. Somehow they managed to gut it out. A lot of the credit should go to Dave Roberts, who is seriously underrated as a manager.

I personally didn't expect the Dodgers to win it all this season. I saw many flaws including injuries and their pitching. I expected them to be the huge monster next year to take it all but I was pleasantly surprised to see them on top this season.
The astros world series feels weird now since we know what happened, and 2020 also felt weird because it was 60 games, I did not care about both championships.
2020 was the team that was built from the ground up, a lot of regulars went onto become MLB regulars. Bellinger, Pederson, Seager, Jansen, Kershaw, Buehler were all Dodger prospects and battled through those previous 2 WS teams. 2024 version was a mix of both, built and bought.
Folks that say it was payroll that won the championship forget that much of that payroll wasn’t available during the year. The pitching staff was a shambles all year and all the way to the World Series.

In 2020 the Lakers and Dodgers were both at the top of their respective leagues with the best record and that continued throughout. Also that same year both leagues were actually very healthy injury wise and everyone were on the same playing field like a gladiatorial level and the best teams came out victorious.

This one is up there with my 88 team. I was in high school and played ball on a very good team. When they won 88 I was playing football and was literally one of only two guys on the team rooting. In Orange County. Everyone said the Mets. Then everyone said the As. That was sweet to watch Orel dominate and clutch hitting. This ws is my first yankee defeat so it’s awesome. The dodgers fans acting like they were underdogs is so cringe the number two market team beat the number one market team. No one was an underdog in That situation.
I think the message after watching this series is that yes money can kind of buy a world series trophy but its not guaranteed but with the way this team handled the series dealing with injuries and coming back from an elimination is what makes teams & players be remembered in the history of baseball and eventually some get inducted into the HOF if you look at some of the greatest players who played the game of baseball alot of times they did not have it easy they never gave up, they knew if they wanted to win they had to put in the work, and overall go out there and fight through the pain and seize that moment.
This is stupid. The rangers signed Seager and Semien, did they buy a championship? Phillies bought Turner, Harper, etc and the list goes on. Every team that wins is a combo of free agents, trades and homegrown talent. MLB is also full of underperforming high payroll teams.

Why would anyone discount 2020 season when every team had the exact same opportunity to win? If anything, the 2017 WS should’ve belonged to the Dodgers as well. And deferring Shohei and Yamamoto’s salary was purely genius. Other teams are just jealous for not coming with that idea. Dodgers are playing 3D Chess while other teams are playing checkers.
Deferring salaries is not some new concept in sports bud. Plus not every team has the resources to allow for such deferment. The budgets are already so tight as it is now that to add on to that in later years such a big expense would crush them into oblivion

So tired of these tired East Coast takes on the 2020 Championship. As a lifelong Dodgers fan that moment was as legitimate as any other I've ever experienced. It was a tremendous post season that even Dave Roberts himself said was the most difficult run that they ever made. The extenuating circumstances involved don't lessen the achievement, in fact they made that run even more challenging then typical. They beat the best teams in the league in some thrilling games. Who is any fan or would be journalist to say that the 2020 Championship is somehow invalid. Comes off as whiny and sour grapes and reeks of the bias typical of this channel.

As a Dodger fan, what's the worst of Dodgers is us the fans. We are one of the most toxic fans in the US along with Yankee fans. We demand so much from our teams as we are so fking spoiled. In this city, a year without a championship is considered a failure. Dynasties are the only truly meaningful way to declare the team's success. There's reason why no matter what Angels and Clippers wins and succeed against the Dodgers and lakers, they are not really considered as 'the team' in the city. At the same time, I really appreciate the teams' effort to really entertain us, and this year we finally witnessed a happy ending. So yeah. Dodgers will spend money. So us the fans will.

I don't understand how people are calling 2020 fake when all the teams were on the literal same playing field and everyone was healthy. Nobody had an advantage or disadvantage and the rosters were stacked with talent due to nobody being injured because the season was so short. All 30 teams had the same opportunity at full strength.

Shohei is MVP of the season. Without him, the Dodgers would not have won their Division and would not have been in the World Series. He carried the Dodgers for much of the year. He was also instrumental in bringing Yamamoto to the Dodgers.

In every season since 2020 the Dodgers had serious holes in their roster by the time they reached the postseason. I was not at all surprised when they failed to advance very far, and this season seemed like it might be no different. Somehow they managed to gut it out. A lot of the credit should go to Dave Roberts, who is seriously underrated as a manager.
As a semi invested dodger fan (used to be more invested but as I’ve grown older I haven’t kept up with it as much) it’s really funny to hear all the dodger fans praise Roberts now all of a sudden 😂. I remember yall used to hate that man don’t lie.

2020 was the team that was built from the ground up, a lot of regulars went onto become MLB regulars. Bellinger, Pederson, Seager, Jansen, Kershaw, Buehler were all Dodger prospects and battled through those previous 2 WS teams. 2024 version was a mix of both, built and bought.
Folks that say it was payroll that won the championship forget that much of that payroll wasn’t available during the year. The pitching staff was a shambles all year and all the way to the World Series.

In 2020 the Lakers and Dodgers were both at the top of their respective leagues with the best record and that continued throughout. Also that same year both leagues were actually very healthy injury wise and everyone were on the same playing field like a gladiatorial level and the best teams came out victorious.
The dodgers did not spend the most money this season. They were 5th in spending. Good try hating tho!

This one is up there with my 88 team. I was in high school and played ball on a very good team. When they won 88 I was playing football and was literally one of only two guys on the team rooting. In Orange County. Everyone said the Mets. Then everyone said the As. That was sweet to watch Orel dominate and clutch hitting. This ws is my first yankee defeat so it’s awesome. I was too young to appreciate 81. As to the 2017 team, they were cheated. Had that one stolen. Bad year for baseball and the dodgers

I think the message after watching this series is that yes money can kind of buy a world series trophy but its not guaranteed but with the way this team handled the series dealing with injuries and coming back from an elimination is what makes teams & players be remembered in the history of baseball and eventually some get inducted into the HOF if you look at some of the greatest players who played the game of baseball alot of times they did not have it easy they never gave up, they knew if they wanted to win they had to put in the work, and overall go out there and fight through the pain and seize that moment.

This is stupid. The rangers signed Seager and Semien, did they buy a championship? Phillies bought Turner, Harper, etc and the list goes on. Every team that wins is a combo of free agents, trades and homegrown talent. MLB is also full of underperforming high payroll teams.

2020 wasn’t fake or feel fake
Why would anyone discount 2020 season when every team had the exact same opportunity to win? If anything, the 2017 WS should’ve belonged to the Dodgers as well. And deferring Shohei and Yamamoto’s salary was purely genius. Other teams are just jealous for not coming with that idea. Dodgers are playing 3D Chess while other teams are playing checkers.
Deferring salaries is not some new concept in sports bud. Plus not every team has the resources to allow for such deferment. The budgets are already so tight as it is now that to add on to that in later years such a big expense would crush them into oblivion

If the A's would have spent the money to keep those 97 win teams together, or something similar several times since 2000, then they might have a championship by now.

So tired of these tired East Coast takes on the 2020 Championship. As a lifelong Dodgers fan that moment was as legitimate as any other I've ever experienced. It was a tremendous post season that even Dave Roberts himself said was the most difficult run that they ever made. The extenuating circumstances involved don't lessen the achievement, in fact they made that run even more challenging then typical. They beat the best teams in the league in some thrilling games. Who is any fan or would be journalist to say that the 2020 Championship is somehow invalid. Comes off as whiny and sour grapes and reeks of the bias typical of this channel.
At least their ownership cares about winning, im tired of watching billionaires collect more money while their team loses 100 games

As a Dodger fan, what's the worst of Dodgers is us the fans. We are one of the most toxic fans in the US along with Yankee fans. We demand so much from our teams as we are so fking spoiled. In this city, a year without a championship is considered a failure. Dynasties are the only truly meaningful way to declare the team's success. There's reason why no matter what Angels and Clippers wins and succeed against the Dodgers and lakers, they are not really considered as 'the team' in the city. At the same time, I really appreciate the teams' effort to really entertain us, and this year we finally witnessed a happy ending. So yeah. Dodgers will spend money. So us the fans will.

As a fan of a rival team i've never really hated the organization itself, they're a well run team with great development, talent, etc... doesn't mean i like them but i respect them (the organization)
