Cool video! I’m a little under 9k subs and am around $2500 in lifetime revenue so far but I wasn’t uploading consistently in the beginning. Doing daily uploads has been the best thing I’ve done for my channel by far. UA-cam loves consistency lol.
Thanks for sharing Kevin! Interesting video to watch. At first I was surprised that the rates were low, but then the point you made about the Lightroom tutorial created a year ago still giving you income was a real eye-opener. I feel like this is a taboo topic, so I tip my hat to you for making a video about it.
Alexander Leonard thanks so much for the feedback. Yeah, when you think about the recurring income over time, it can really add up. Glad you got some value from it.
Thanks for the video Kevin. Got a question. What do you do with old old videos that you made before you decided to get seriouls with UA-cam. My "new" channel will be a kind of focus on living abroad, but I have some old videos from 5-6 years ago that are just clips from various places. Should I leave them just for because they are interesting or delete them because they definitely are not of great quality?
Thank you! I would leave them there for now until you have a good volume of the new content. This will increase your likelihood that people will subscribe to your channel because they can see your not brand new to UA-cam even if the older content isn’t on the same topic.
Aren't you prohibited from showing CPM? Not sure if people get in trouble for that, but I've seen many youtubers blur out that one metric specifically.
Thanks for the heads up on that. It's not something I'm aware of being against their guidelines as CPM has so many variables to it. I suppose if I get a takedown notice for it, I'll learn the hard way.
@@KevinFremon Hopefully it doesn't come to that! :) It's just a consistency I've been noticing in these kind of videos, but I can't say for sure whether it actually is breaking the rules. Thanks for the video!
I think this is a no but is it possible to get paid on a video that is on your youtube channel that was paid from your client, hope I made this make some sense
If your client doesn't mind and doesn't enforce a copyright and you don't have any copyrighted music or video that you haven't licensed, you probably can. I'm certainly no expert though.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like we are on a similar UA-cam journey. And yes, UA-cam definitely loves consistency. That's for sure.

Thanks for the idea. What do you mean by making a “video clip.”?

so it was client work but you put it on your channel
