    Most amateurs think that making a youtube video = taking your phone and shooting a video of yourself or whatever.
    Its much more than that. It takes study of psychological editing, camera, shooting angles, lenses, script writing, storyboarding and finally editing.
    This video tells you what it takes.

    Couple things I began implementing that helped my videos are remembering a story has 3 parts, set up, conflict, and resolution. Obviously there’s more to a story but just following these 3 ideas really helped. Also doing voice overs really help carry the story! I’ve notice voice overs are game changing. You can have terrible shots, but if you mute the clips and add music and voice overs then it can still capture the audiences attention. I need to work on taking more wide shots and close shots, that really helps set up the context and allows the viewer to be more immersed. Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely try tube buddy!

    Great stuff. Most kids don’t realize that what they learned in elementary writing class needs to be implemented into making decent content. Good content comes from adding experience. Great content comes from adding experience charisma. Outstanding content comes from all of the above plus a little luck, and patience.

    Hi there, Matthew! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos!
    Quite frankly, you have the highest quality content that I have seen on YT so far, and this video just scratches the surface, I'm sure, as to why that's the case. I love how you just perfect the craft and take your time to get it just right.
    I am a rookie creative developer and have seen a tremendous increase in my productivity and overall workflow after using Notion, 90-minute time blocks, workspace organization, etc.
    Also, these videos have been really helpful for me as I am just beginning with my own UA-cam content. Thanks a bunch!

    Question, would you mind sharing more about the script and shot list file? Preferably, how to organize one. I think you’re right in saying that we get overwhelmed when we just have files of footage but we are unsure of how to use it. THIS is where I’ve found myself wasting time and sometimes abandoning projects but your tips gave me a new perspective. I’m excited to get back to it.

    This was very helpful, thank you! Quick question, do you find the music you want to use first, before you start editing the video? Do you import that music into your editor and play it while you are editing so that the footage "matches" up with it? Or is music something you add to your project, after you have edited it? Thanks!

    • @MatthewEncina
      @MatthewEncina  3 роки тому +2

      Music is one of the last things I add to my edits. I already have a genre of music that I use for all of my videos, so it's pretty straight forward. when I do need to express a specific feeling, then I search (but that still comes later).
