one of the oldest videos of all youtube and also one of the most beautiful video I’ve watched in my entire life. I’ve been watching her since she came out and it’s always so beautiful to see a huge respect 🙌🏽👍🏽
This is basically all my childhood in a video. I don't know who you are, but you have all my respect, thank you so much for this video, it made me really happy!
It’s still here, and I’m still making videos! :-) You should check some of my newer stuff out too, if you haven’t already! I have a long list of railroad VHS tapes I used to watch as a kid in the 90’s, and I’m happy to be able to provide that for someone else’s childhood. :-)
@@fuscoproductions wow, then I'll have to watch the whole railway tape hehehe, I'll also see your new videos, thanks for posting this video it leaves me with many memories :3
I've seen your video, that was one of my first train videos on UA-cam. I've seen that video since 2009 when I was 6-7 and now I'm 15 years old. I'll never forget that video. Always.
I remember I just clicked on this video back when I was like, 6 or 7, i have searched for days to find this again and I am happy that I finally found it
I remember watching this when I was only 3 , 4 and 5 years old and still I starting watching again when I turned 8, 9, 10, and 11 years old, and now am 16 and I still watching it over and over again and after two months am turning 17 years old
This video captured a by gone era. It is if someone ripped a hole in time and brought us back to an era of simpler time that was full of hope. fantastic.
Oh what memories of decades gone by. Thanks so so much for posting. For a short time here, I was a little boy living back in the 40s and 50s. Well, one can dream can't he?! Ole Johnny B.
Awesome! I never heard 142 talk like THIS , the crew really do a good job with her and the Reading 6 chime adds to it, it just SCREAMS mainline steam in the east!
In this 2024, 17 years have passed, this Video was undoubtedly My Childhood, Locomotive 142 of The Susquehanna & Western Railroad, without a doubt My Favorite Steam Engine from Childhood, I watched this video together with My Grandfather
Thank you for the very flattering compliment. I am delighted to find you here once again, endorsing, supporting, embracing the scrapping, junking, cutting apart & melting the steam locomotives. A pleasure to know you support the cause! If people need quick cash, the whistle, bell, gauges, controls, hoses, headlight, marker lights, number boards, builder's plate & many other parts & assemblies can be quickly removed & sold at a midnight sale. NO QUESTIONS ASKED! A VERY PROFITABLE venture, too!
Very good video. I especially liked the run-by with the locomotive reflected in the puddle of water - good planning and execution. Also, the run-by between the two antique cars - clever idea, suspenseful and nostalgic. Keep up the good work. Well worth watching and re-watching.
Saludos.
Cutting steam locomotives down to a size to fit into a blast furnace is exciting, fun and exhilarating! Seeing all those parts being sold from the trunk of a car in the industrial section of town is more fun. It is great to know that people are removing the whistle, bell, gauges, hoses, relief valves, driving linkage, brass fittings, marker lamps, headlights, fire doors, pneumatic controls for cash they need is great! I will relay your kind compliment about my mother to her for you! Thanks!
Great Video. Thanks for using a tripod. I also enjoy how you didn't compress the scenes using a telephoto lens. You let the train come into its own. As an aside... The old-timey cars posed at the crossing are becoming cliche. It seems every photo freight incorporates them. Not to mention the one car looks EXTREMELY close to the tracks.
I have read the very nice comment you have made to me on my page. Thank you! It is most appreciated! There are many pieces on this old machine which metal thieves may find inviting to have and redeem for scrap value. The most valuable pieces are the bell, the whistle, the driving linkage and the air pumps. Secondly is the gauge sets, the controls and valves from the engineers cabin, the sand dome, generator, the lighting assemblies, steam chests and front access door to the boiler. Junk it!
This brings so much nostalgia, I watched this countless times when I was 4. And now I’m turning 16 next month

That night shot with the classic cars is brilliant. Looks like a scene from the 1940's.
Because of this vid my 3 yrold verbally recreates this whistle when ever he plays with his trains. and this is one of his most watched train vids too.
It's been a couple years since I first watched this video and l love Chinese steam trains turned into American trains
