I've watched this channel for years, but I didn't expect to see so close to where I live in Wales featured! I also didn't realise that You'd been to the Severn Valley Spring Gala in April. That was such a good event.
I’ve long loved British steam, so as soon as I had a chance to go I took it and promptly flew into the hottest week in British history lol. It worked out in the end, with only the welsh narrow gauge lines running steam I got to spend the whole trip exploring and falling in love with Cymru and its quirky little railways. I came back for my standard gauge fix in the spring, unfortunately I had to squeeze the SVR gala into the middle of my chase of the Great Britain XIV so I was a bit rushed. I’m hoping to visit again next year if I manage to save up the money again.
@@SmokyMtnSteam I've always had an obsession with American steam, but whether I'll ever be able to get over there to see any of it is difficult to say. I've always wanted to do the D&RGW, the Cumbres & Toltec, Cass, Strasburg, and a mainline tour with something big. More recently, I've really liked the Age of Steam Roundhouse and Reading & Northern 2102 and 425. I'd love to see those!
Duchess of Sutherland is a Princess Coronation Class engine. Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose are Princess Royal Class engines, smaller in size and without smoke deflectors. If you want to add another hundred steamies to your list, you'll have to be very quick. The future of UK steam on the main line is already looking bleak, with the cost of coal and overhauls rising formidably high. Some steam engines are still going strong, but most have had to be disposed of, meaning they will never run again. Good luck chasing your next target of 100 steamies, your chances of reaching it are getting slimmer every day.
The Duchess is a coronation but is owned by the Princess Royal Class trust, which owned Princess Margaret Rose first. And I wouldn't be so pessimistic, while there are many challenges facing steam operations in the 21st century, heritage railways are run by very resourceful and determined people.
Dang! You saw 100 different steam locomotives from around the world?! I’m very impressed. Here’s to 200, just like you said at the end of the video. Looking forward to more steam locomotives running again! I’ll help you reach your 200 goal by donating towards current locomotive restorations, such as PRR 1361, Reading 2100, Maine Central 470, and more. What are the next steam locomotives you look forward to seeing operate for the first time? Also, have you heard about the 200th anniversary of the first railroad event to take place in the U.K. in 2025?
I'm hoping to see some more of the Colorado narrow gauge in the near future, and of course I'm looking forward to 2100, 576, 722, 1361, and the rest. And I hope to be there for the Stockton & Darlington and Liverpool & Manchester 200th anniversaries in 2025 and 2030 if at all possible.

Most of the fonts that weren't pre-installed on my Macbook came from dafont or 1001 fonts. Trying to find free fonts that matched and getting the designs right on those cards was like 90% of the work on this project. The old-west font I've been using for Tweetsie is called Saddlebag and the Southern engines were bold Times New Roman for the letters and Railroad Roman for the numbers. I use that combo of Roman fonts for most of my videos titles/thumbnails because it was basically the default for American railroads back in the day.
Please don't scream at me QwQ, for me, the 611 is one of the best locomotives ever solely because of it's horn sounds so deep aggressive and imposing and loud like some sort of dark overlord of shadows that has spoken and it's appearance as well looks very sleek like very continuous it's like idk how to describe it but you train nerds (don't take it as an offense pls ;^;) know what I'm talking about
You're 100% correct, the info cards for that whole group of tank engines were copy/pasted and I forgot to change the builder. I've pinned a comment with the correction, thank you.
Does the berry farm still use 41? I'm Surprised that Disney is still using the old girls, especially with the current administration, and everything, those girls deserve better. I hope one they they get sent to a muesum like Strasburg, or steam town, and continue to be used.
Yes, 41 was recently rebuilt and still runs at the farm alongside DRGW 340 and the Galloping Goose. Walt Disney was personally very fond of steam trains so I doubt the locos at DLR and WDW are in any danger.
Correction: @ 7:45 Viscose Company no. 6 is a Baldwin product, not Vulcan.

I wonder when Southern Railway 630 will be running again?
630 returned to service earlier this week.
630 was returned to service last week! I plan to go down there next month.
Oh. Good! I’m glad she’s back to working again.
Well nothing west of the Rockies but maybe another video will do that😅
