Right now I'm getting my licensing squared away, and my son and I trying to get that carry permit right too. We wished we lived in LA or TX, but it is what it is. We have plenty of time to get to know one another, with all this covid going around its gonna be a minute before I will be comfortable traveling, however it gives us the time to build a rapport. Welcome you kayak fishing. About to purchase my 4th kayak. Always fun times and get you into places you can't even imagine. For example your city pond that you fish for crappie. Most laws state no boat access with a "motor". Well a kayak has a paddle lol.
The kayak is a nice one. Remember PVC can make a kayak look 10x better with how you add things or diy. Save funds then buying brand items that are over priced.

There are a couple of lakes in N. California I use to fish for white bass and crappie. Both were pretty tasty. Sadly both lakes took a huge hit during the droughts. Think that kayak will make a fine fishing boat.
