- I have a new favorite - PUMPKIN SOUP!!! This was a huge surprise for me too because I am NOT a squash person. But if you make one thing this fall, please try this one.
5 ingredients plus a loaf of bread... and really you cannot go wrong. PLUS!! I am starting to do cost breakdowns of all the recipes I try on here and this made enough soup to feed my family of 2 adults and 3 kids for TWO DINNERS and only cost me $3.30!!! You cannot tell me you can't eat well on a budget. And with food costs only going up, you can't afford to not make things from scratch.
I hope you try this out. I know there are a good amount of recipes out there for pumpkin soup, but sheesh... for a super basic recipe, I'm here for it.

Even my picky eater had two bowls! I hope you enjoy!
Picking up a pumpkin 🎃 tomorrow to try this soup.
I hope you enjoy it!
In the Celtic nations of Scotland, Wales ,Ireland and parts of northern England, we carved sweedes at Halloween, before the pumpkin tradition crossed the Atlantic.
I had heard that somewhere! Can't say I've ever carved a swede...or rather a rutabaga as they're known here. I did carve a teeny acorn squash once lol! I will have to look up why we went the pumpkin route, I am curious now.
@@historicalcookingwithcourtney as a side for roast meat try a carrot and sweede mash, boil both till soft, drain well and mash with butter, a touch salt, ground black pepper, and nutmeg it's makes a nice change from mashed potatoes ☺️
No soup for you!!
Sorry, I couldn't resist saying that! lol
I'll see myself out...
Ha! 🤣 I love it!
