That makes sense what you said about 272 vs 038. Saws, and all products, are built to their environment. Sweden has a lot of softer woods where a 272 would be more advantageous, whereas Germany has more hardwoods, so torque is the game rather than "zippy."
Definitely a foreign clutch and oil pump drive setup to me. Seems like I'm in my shop puttering with something a few hours a day for a week or 10 days, then it seems I can't find the time for a month or more😐 oh well... if every day was the exact same routine, life would be pretty boring😅 As always, thanks for sharing!👍

Tinman, from memory, the pin securing the end of the chain brake band should be a snug fit into the case. The tail of the brake band fits over the fat end of the pin and it too should be a snug fit. keep up the good work.

Used motor oil would help explain the wear on the sprocket. Motor oil doesn't have the additives to stick to moving parts and is also thinner than bar oil.
@@tinmanssaws mine was originally rated at 17/21 but on 50mph (80kph) roads It far exceeds those numbers. I’m just at a loss on any suv that has more power, yet still gets better fuel economy. You can have one or the other, but not both. Mine is an 03 sr5, 4.0v6, 4 speed auto.
@@rydplrs71 they pretty much all have 300hp 6 cylinders and get 25 to 29 mpg now. It's the 6 and 8 speed transmissions that do it. New vehicles are amazing on fuel.
Years ago I had a Sthil 41 farm boss and you could keep that old saw together, go out and cut fire wood with and spend half the time putting the fuel tank back on it because the bolts vibrated out so I'm not big on the old Sthil chainsaws !
Tinman the dodge or Chrysler town and country or grand caravan are great vehicles for a family I own one and I drive it more than my square body Chevy trucks , great on fuel mileage , 2011 grand caravan get 21 miles per gallon on the highway .

3rd gen 4runners have pretty good power and get good mileage for what they are. Plus they run basically forever with proper maintenance.

I’d like to see a Canadian 4-runner. Mine has enough power to pass while towing a 7x16 trailer, and gets mid 20’s for milage. 285k and counting.
A new 4 runner is only rated at 16 city, 19mpg hyway. That's a bit less then my Tundra gets.

Ford Explorer is your rig.. get the st if you what the go fast mode.. or timberline for the rugged stuff. Very roomy and good on fuel.
